𝙋𝙀𝙍𝙎𝙊𝙉𝘼𝙇𝙄𝙏𝙔 - NICHOLAS SHARP, better known to his friends as 'Nicky', is an ambitious rebel without a cause. Born a spitfire, Nicky loves nothing more than riling people up. A good fight would make his day - and he must have a lot of good days, since he's known for finding trouble wherever he goes. Nicky is never afraid to speak his mind and doesn't care what other people think of him - sometimes to a detrimental degree. While he has all the attitude and ego of a famous rock star, he's still stuck as a 'wannabe' in a dusty town off the freeway. His plans to book it to California and find a band have been put on hold - not only because he's broke, but because all of a sudden, it seems like nobody's getting out of here. Nicky is frustrated to his core and tends to take it out on others, with a notoriously short temper and poor impulse control. Loud, audacious, and reckless, many people in the small community of Leesville consider him a no-good menace out to terrorize as many people as he can.
While he may not be the brightest or the most tactful, Nicky is a passionate man who will stand up for himself even if he's outmatched. He's an ambitious and creative guy with big dreams and a free spirit, and if you can get past the obnoxious exterior, you'll find him to be quite the loving and loyal friend. By and large, though, Nicky doesn't gel well with others - he can't keep his mouth shut to save his life and hates being told what to do. Compliance is not assured.

The nature of this power is such that it is IMPRECISE, affecting anyone that can hear the music, and cannot be narrowed down to specific targets. The targets react as they normally would to an excess of emotion, and just being affected does not necessarily mean they will obey the user or take any desired actions.

MILO is an energetic and excitable young pup without a mean bone in his body. He is typically known for his excessive friendliness and curiosity, but is willing to protect his family and close friends in dire straits. However, he much prefers to handle situations by 'killing them with kindness', as it were. He loves playing and roaming around outside, following his boy on his bicycle to meet new people and new smells. He is restless and easily bored, and keen enough to get up to plenty of mischief if he has nothing else to do. Though he has an 'enhanced intellect', that doesn't necessarily equate to him being the quickest around, and he's quite naive and easily distracted - never even quite learned 'stay' all the way. His lighthearted disposition is great for a family pet, but not necessarily for someone who might have to help save the world.
Running around, digging up treasures, and playing with sprinklers are among his favorite activities - as well as watching TV. Oh yes, Milo loves TV; while it's not exactly made for his canine brain, Milo loves the 'flicker box' almost as much as he loves tennis balls. His enhanced intellect seems to give him an awareness of what's happening in the images he sees, but not quite enough awareness to distinguish that it's not necessarily representative of reality.

SUBJECT is a one-year old black labrador retriever (Canis lupus familiaris) with the ability to psychically IMPULSE others around him. This power causes a specific thought or urge manifested by the user to appear in the target's head. The target has the ability to reject these impulses just as they would reject any of their own; therefore, targets with less impulse control are more susceptible to being impulsed by the subject. This power could also theoretically function as a means of very simple TELEPATHIC COMMUNICATION, but the subject's capacity to understand a verbal or written response is very low. The majority of his usage of this power is largely harmless, but the subject's obsession with TELEVISION leads him to sometimes impulse others to act like what he sees on TV, and he lacks a healthy level of distinction between fiction and reality. Subject also displays a form of ENHANCED INTELLECT, able to recognize symbols and patterns to a much greater degree than is normal for his species, among other things. Despite his intellect being quite remarkable for his species, his mental capacity is at best at the level of a kindergartener in human terms.

𝙋𝙀𝙍𝙎𝙊𝙉𝘼𝙇𝙄𝙏𝙔 - SCOTT Hewitt is, on the surface, an unremarkable man: a nervous, mousy English teacher who prefers to keep to himself. His solitary lifestyle is heavily influenced by his unpredictable quirk of absorbing people's memories - whether he wants to or not. He keeps a healthy amount of distance between himself and anyone else, not divulging much and not wanting much from others. Because of his reclusive and prickly nature, he is the subject of much distrust and gossip in the small town of Leesville: he's on the run from the law, killed a man, he's a secret agent from the government, he's a closet homosexual - Scott's heard it all about himself. He doesn't pay it much mind. He is very keen, highly intelligent and analytical, and certainly very perceptive of others' emotions - even if he may not always handle them very well. He struggles to engage with others even on the rare occasions he does want to, and has immense difficulty trusting anyone. Underneath it all, he is an immensely lonely man, crippled by his fear of making meaningful connections.
However, being a teacher, Scott has a noticeable mentorly and paternal streak. Around kids, he seems to be a different person; despite his diffidence and strictness, he cares about his students at Leesville Junior High and actually seems to enjoy his job. Scott is passionate about literature and poetry and is even an amateur poet himself, although he's never really shown anyone much of his writing.

The subject seems to both consciously and unconsciously ABSORB MEMORIES from people around him, which often overtake him as a few moment of a delirious state wherein he experiences the memory as if it were happening in the present. This state occupies all of his senses and renders him temporarily completely unaware of his surroundings. Once he has absorbed a piece of memory, he retains it, as the subject is also possessed of an EIDETIC MEMORY and is able to perfectly recall the details of any experience he has lived. He can re-live any of his own memories or those he has absorbed from others at will, though using this power willingly induces the same fugue state. Subject seems to exert LIMITED CONTROL over this power; a person simply describing or thinking intensely about a particular memory may or may not trigger the subject to insert himself into it. However, the subject can also use this power willingly, although it is guided much more by the TARGET than the user, meaning the memories the subject extracts are determined by the target's flow of thoughts, and are rarely the same ones the subject intends to gather.

𝙋𝙀𝙍𝙎𝙊𝙉𝘼𝙇𝙄𝙏𝙔 - JASON JONES is a veteran agent with a stoic and serious demeanor. A retired special forces agent, Jason is no less keen than he was in his youth, if a bit more jaded and cynical. In conversation, he is short and reserved, and rarely lets on more than he has to. Jason doesn't really have a 'lighter side'; you'll get a bit of dry humor out of him every now and then, but all-in-all he tends to take things very seriously and gets easily frustrated when others don't. He considers himself a sort of father figure to his younger recruits and is very protective of others, though he often comes off as overbearing in his attempts to show that he cares. He is strict and adheres to orders, though at his core he is courageous and noble and will do what he feels is right. He is quite rigid and unforgiving, proud and set in his ways, tending to think that he knows best and rarely takes advice from others.
A highly skilled agent who has seen more than his fair share of dire situations, Jason is proud of his ability to think and react quickly. In a desperate situation, he's the one to stay calm and collected and try to keep things under control. Jason is a natural leader, organized and decisive and taking no nonsense from anyone. While he may not show it, he values and cares deeply for his close friends and would easily lay his life on the line for his team.

xxxxxxxxxxx history: Peri was born to two hippies in a somewhat cultlike commune, she often jokes that she was her parents experimental phase, before they settled down and joined the real world. They moved from a desert in the middle of nowhere to a town in the middle of nowhere when she was ten. Peri never quite found her place in the town, so many people has been there for so long that she was just the odd one occasionally. That's not to say she didn't have her group of friends, she did, but often felt like she was just missing part of the whole experience of being a child. Her parents went on to have two more children, both with very normal names that weren't after a bird. After highschool, she got a job as a companion and caretaker for an eccentric elderly woman, who tells her stories of her life and travels. She learned to paint, to cook, and realistically has a dream job there. Her first breakup was at twenty, and her first encounter with her ability as well. As she cried, a storm whipped up outside, wind howling and sparks literally flying off her finger tips. Meditation has proven to keep them in check, as such, she's always carefully minding her emotions. One of her greatest fears is that someone will be hurt because of her.
