• Balladsnuff's patrol barely makes it through half of the territory before a terrible howling wind rips through the air. The cats scramble for shelter, forced to hide underneath the trunk of a fallen tree as freezing flakes of snow turn the air white. They can barely see their own paws when lifted in front of their muzzles, so they decide to remain underneath their small sanctuary until the weather softened. Hours later, they are all sniffling and cold as they finally return to camp. After a thorough examination from Fignewt, two are diagnosed with minor colds. Fiscusfrown needs x1 moon of rest otherwise his cold may worsen. Viperfang needs x1 catmint as her cold is severe enough that a high risk of greencough exists.

• Icefrost's patrol catches x2 chipmunks. Before they make it far with their catch, a scrawny fox explodes from a hidden den. He is clearly in search of easy prey, lunging immediately for Fernstorm, who carries their catch. She protects her prey fiercely, but she is gravely injured during the fight. ixxx▬fignewt was quite disgruntled at the idea of having to share a den with a cat as bizarre as wizard. he had brought vials, for starclan's sake, full of colorful bubbling liquids that smelled like nothing fignewt had ever encountered. but, really, what was he to do? wizard would freeze to death if he were sent on a patrol, and would be uncomfortable even in the warmest seasons with his hairless pelt, which left fignewt to begrudgingly collect all of the herbs their clan would need.
ixxx▬wizard had moved himself into an adjoining den in the healer's cave. while fignewt and the rest of the healers' nests were in a room to the right of the main herb storage/treatment room, wizard had discovered a narrow passage, small enough even that a larger cat than wizard would not be able to get through it at all. the passage sloped upwards at a steady pace before opening into a round den about three foxlengths wide in any direction. natural rocky shelves jutted out at various heights, and those were where wizard opted to store his experiments. no other cat in the clan so much as even wanted to enter his bizarre den, so he was allowed the privacy he needed to study his work.
ixxx▬...but, alas, a certain ornery tabby tomcat had different ideas.
ixxx▬"EX-CUSE ME," viperfang's voice was amplified by the tunnel leading to wizard's den. with a sigh, the bald tomcat unstuffed his nose from the massive, leatherbound book he'd learned most of his skills from (and had pilfered from a twoleg wizard's tower... shhhh) and swept his cloak closer against his body for warmth before padding into the main den that harbored normal cat herbs.
ixxx▬"yes, yes, what is it?" wizard mrrowed, eyeballing the much larger tom who sniffed with massive amounts of drama.
ixxx▬"i'm ill!" viperfang declared, giving a pointed cough to mark his own words. "i should be nestbound for a few days, right? shouldn't go on any patrols?" his eyes glinted hopefully; the snowy terrain had not made patrols incredible annoying, as his thick pelt collected snowballs within mere seconds.
ixxx▬wizard chuffed with laughter. "no, you'll be just fine to go on patrols! here - " he picked an herb from one of the rocky shelves of the den and thrust it towards viperfang. "say... would you want to try a belly warming potion? keep you warm for days with just a drop on your tongue!" wizard sounded like a cheezy late night twoleg advertisement.
ixxx▬viperfang was mid-chew, but stopped with wide eyes at the prospect of drinking one of wizard's bizarre brews. he gulped down the herb swiftly. "i, uh, i feel good as new! thanks!"
ixxx▬with that, he scurried out.
ixxx▬–—
ixxx▬the three travelers were a strange group. chiaseed was a petite lilac molly with incredibly peculiar - peculiar, but certainly beautiful - eyes and a voice smaller than a mouse's. she was leading the way, bounding through the heaps of snow with her small frame to make a path for her companions. she was clearly struggling with this task, as the snowbanks, though half-melted and turned icky with debris that had been washed down with the rain, were still nearly to her chest.
ixxx▬behind her, tinykit - they were smaller than even the smallest of runts - gleefully pranced behind her with his head on a swivel, delightedly calling out the names of different bugs he spotted among the undergrowth. they had a colorful bandana tied around their neck and a blue, fuzzy coat.
ixxx▬finally, taking up the rear of the small posse, was forgetknot, her dark coat stark against the snow and her belly swollen with kits. she was smiling gently at tinykit's antics, though her paws were travel weary.
ixxx▬sealfisher had been the first cat to scent them, and he bounded through the snow swiftly to reach them; the kit-scent was unmistakable, and a young cat could freeze out here if left unsupervised.
ixxx▬the sight of the pregnant molly, who he could spot from incredibly far away with the contrast of her fur, only spurred him to move faster.
ixxx▬"excuse me!" he called, finally nearing them. "are you lost?"
ixxx▬the dark molly's gaze snapped to look at him and she immediately scooped the kit in front of her closer to her belly to keep him safe. chiaseed turned, blinking unalarmed eyes.
ixxx▬"yes, we are," she murmured, dipping her head. "i am chiaseed; my friends are tinykit and forgetknot. we have come from very far away - i spoke to a pretty molly at a celebration we recently attended, her name was vixenface. she told me i was welcome here. i hoped the offer would extend to my companions as well."
ixxx▬sealfisher did not hesitate to nod in agreement. "follow me," he paused to look at the kit. "would you like me to carry you?" he asked the small cat, cocking his head.
ixxx▬tinykit rapidly shook their head. "i can't see the bugs if you carry me!" he declared, and sealfisher smiled.
ixxx▬this group was so interesting, he mused.

ixxx▬"chiaseed!" vixenface gasped, a purr already rumbling in her through deeply as she rose to her paws, made slightly more sluggish by her kit-full tummy.
ixxx▬chiaseed purred with delight, shoving her cheek against vixenface's and drawing her tongue over the top of her head. "it is so lovely to see you again," she spoke quietly, but beamed. "i am so glad i was able to find you. i have friends with me - forgetknot, who is expecting, and tinykit. he is.. certainly something, that is for sure." she breathed a sigh that released significant amounts of tension from her shoulders. she would be sleeping alongside vixenface in the nursery; sealfisher, who had noted her affection for vixenface early on, had accepted the request without argument.
ixxx▬sweetdrop padded closer, emerging from the nursery. "hello. chiaseed, i presume," she greeted. "vixenface has told me a lot about you - i would certainly like to get to know you more."
ixxx▬the mollies were sound asleep in a heap of limbs until well after sunhigh.

ixxx▬sourpaw, tempestpaw, and yumapaw all sported smiles of varying degrees of confidence as they stepped away from the totem, their new names fresh on their ears as their clanmates called them out.
ixxx▬"viperfang!" sourpaw bounded up to the tom with urgency. "when can we start fighting practice? today? now?" he was bouncing in place, and exhaustion flickered across viperfang's face for a moment. he was in for a treat with this young, overzealous tomcat.

Amber and Zoe do their utmost to convince Sapphire to pick herbalism over fighting. He refuses. Rainstorm only adds fuel to the fire by becoming Sapphire’s mentor. Amber returns to gathering herbs now that she has Cards to accompany her.

Sweetbee decides to join patrols again since he can be with his bff.

Bacup celebrates finally becoming a knight with Whetley. It’s just as they planned many moons ago. She will one day be leader and he will be her brave knight. The two become mates.
