Northstar feels like it’s time to make some major changes in the clan. It is the two year anniversary and what better way to celebrate it? She’s just not sure what would make her cats work their tails off to make her Kingdom better than it ever was. To start things off appointing a new head knight would be a good idea. Gentleman’s been weird recently and hasn’t been performing his duties as he should. At least he took in a page. “Knightfall, was it?” The new cat nods his head in response to Northstar. “What would you say to the honour of being my new head knight? You would lead your own patrol, like Rainstorm and Nightfall. You two have similar names, it would make it easier for me to remember.” Knight looks a little confused and intimidated. “Thank you for the honour, but um, I’m not much for a leadership role…” Northstar cuts him off. “Nonsense. You don’t reject an offer from your lord.” Whetley clears her throat. “Knightfall is new to the clan and doesn’t know the territory. Perhaps it would be wiser to appoint this role to someone with more experience?” Knight nods his head fervently. North examines the young molly and then smiles sneakily. “Yes, of course! I would never do a thing so irresponsible as appointing a newcomer as my head knight. For all I know he could be a spy wanting to steal out secrets and resources.” Knight looks even more confused and a little hurt. “It was just a test for you, Whetley. As my heir I need to keep you on your toes. Congratulations, you passed.” Whetley looks pleased with herself. “In fact, I have another test for you. Who would you give the role to?” Whetley’s a little nervous to have such an important task and racks her brain to prove herself to her leader. “Rainstorm is a very good fighter, which makes him a great leader for patrols that need to deal with threats of predators and Nightfall is amicable, which means he’s likely to persuade new cats to join our clan. So the third knight would have to be someone especially skilled in hunting and fishing so that they can lead a hunting party. I-is that correct?” She seemed confident all the way until her last sentence. Northstar thinks deeply about her words. “Indeed. In fact, I would like to discuss this with you in greater detail.” She turns to Knight, who’s still sitting there, unsure of what to do with himself. “Off you go. Get yourself useful, we don’t allow freeloaders.” He scurries off, happy to be out of this conversation.

Owl notices strange things happening around Mousetrap kits. The air gets chilly and ice particles sometimes form under their paws. Perhaps it’s just because of the cold outside. She brings more rags to make the nursery nice and warm. Vie, the strange new kitten, seems very interested in that, but no such thing is happening around her. She looks disappointed and angry.

Amber agrees to be the mentor of Cards, a sweet kit with a great healer’s potential. When he was still in the nursery both Amber and Zoe kept trying to make Sapphire play with him so that he would have good influence on their son. However, Sapphire preferred to play with Dice, a troublemaker, with whom they often bullied Tealeaf, the most shy and anxious of Fortune’s litter. Amber hopes that Sapphire’s behaviour will change when he’s forced to spend more time with Cards, as they will both be her students. After all, there is no way they are letting their son become a Knight.

Lady Fortune gathers her kits for a talk before they begin their journey into adulthood and their training. She looks at all of them with a smile and pulls them into a hug. “I am so proud of you. I have taught you all I know and I am sure you will grow into beautiful cats. With your knowledge you will be able to live happy lives and help the cats in this clan and the next ones you join. For me, it is time. There is nothing more I can do for Whiskered Away.” Tealeaf’s eyes start to water, as she expects what her mother is going to say next. Paw sees this and rolls her eyes. “I will be moving on to share my knowledge even further. Now that I know I’m leaving this clan in your capable paws, I’m ready.” She hugs and kisses each of them on their heads. “But there is so much more we still have to learn! Are you sure, we’re ready?” The molly smiles and nods. “You’re right, but you are ready. You will continue to learn your whole lives through experiences you will gain as you live. But you are ready. I’m confident. After all, I taught you myself.” With those words Lady Fortune gives them one last smile and turns around, swooshing her long tail. They watch her until she disappears between the trees. Cards has his paw around Tealeaf, comforting her as she sobs into his fur. “Stop crying, she just abandoned us!” Paw yells at her. “Bu-but” Tealeaf mumbles. “She’s our mom!” “Maybe so, but she just talks a big game. She left us, that’s it. She doesn’t care about us and I don’t care about her. Now stop your sobbing, it’s gross.” She leaves accompanied by Dice, who’s having mixed feelings about the situation. Cards smiles and pets Tealeaf’s head. “Don’t listen to her, sis. We knew she would leave one day, but you know as well as me that she loves us very much. Besides, we might see her again. She’s often at gathering, we can visit those when we’re older.” Tealeaf slowly stops crying. “You really think so?” Cards nods. “Lets go together one day.” Tealeaf sniffs, but smiles. “Okay!”

Sweetbee is going insane in the sylph’s den. He keeps getting sick or injured and everything best happening in the clan is passing him by. He asks Amber if he can keep her company while she gathers herbs next moon. It might be safer.

Jinx has already been forgotten by most cats. Noone has seen her in several moons. Only Zoe remains on the look for her, which is hard, since she’s nursing a child and doesn’t go out much. But she still remembers and knows that her sister remains somewhere out there.

She was right. Jinx appears in the clan one early morning. She walks with confidence, giving angry looks and growls to anyone who tries to approach her or ask what happened and where she’s been. She takes a straight line for the nursery to find her sister. One of the culprits responsible for her misery. “Look at this, the scoundrel returns.” Northstar comes her way. “You no longer have a place in this clan. Leave.” Jinx lets out a low grunted laugh that partially sounds like a growl. “Well, well, well. North. How awful to see you. No matter how hard I worked, you denied me everything.” She bares her teeth at the leader, slowly walking towards her with her head held low. Northstar is taking steps back, more disgusted by her presence than scared. “It’s all… your… fault!” Jinx lunges at Northstar and the two start to fight, biting and slashing with their claws. The area around them is empty, but the sounds of fighting start to attract cats from around. Quite an audience is gathered when Jinx sprints at North and pushes her off a hill and into a frozen river. The ice on top breaks and then reforms, trapping her underneath. The faces closest try to catch a glimpse of their leader through the ice, but she cannot be seen, presumably quickly sinking into the icy deep. Jinx starts to laugh and it carries across the land. Zoe looks frightened, her sweet little sister no longer herself. Many cats get scared looks on their faces and take steps back. Jinx grins, thinking that they’re all afraid of her, but she notices that they’re looking at something behind her. She turns around and sees a translucent silhouette of a cat emerging from the ice and slowly walking towards her. It stops and from the air chunks of colour starts mingling and reforming it’s body, until Northstar in the flesh is standing right there, her fur not even wet. “How dare you…” she growls through her teeth. “You fool! I cannot be killed by a useless lowlife like you! Knights!” Aristaeus is the first to react. In a few swift motions he defeats Jinx. Zoe grieves her maddened sister.

The events of that day are the talk of the clan for the rest of the moon. New gossip is formed around it making the fight and North’s revival even more impressive, but even those who saw it with their own eyes and only know the facts are still impressed. If there was anyone in the clan that doubted Northstar to be the chosen one of Starclan is now convinced that their leader is truly special. The clan gains a much necessary boost of morale.

Vie is angered. Some cats have all the luck, meanwhile she is orphaned, weak and doesn’t even have a coat as beautiful as North’s! But she will not despair. She will have to create her own luck.

Fogpaw refuses to look for a new mentor. She's beginning to think she's cursed and that's why she keeps being left without a mentor. She says she doesn't care and will just stay an apprentice for the rest of her life, but she does care. Fishpaw suggests that she could train her sister once she passes her assessment. It makes Fogpaw feel a little better. She helps at the Sylph's den to take care of her brother and watches her sister train before her big day.

✦border patrols are cats that are sent out ahead of the majority of the clan as they travel, to make sure the way is clear of any danger like two-legs or predators, as they are traveling with nursing mothers, newborn kits, and elderly-cats among their ranks.✦

✦inkbread's death comes as a surprise to many of the clan, while others like her daughter pufferstrike unfortunately saw it coming, due to the heartbreak of losing her son and her best friend/sister. pufferstrike leans hard on frozenhowl, the tom she has viewed like an uncle since her birth, since he never got to have kits of his own, and who understands the pain she's going through because of his own mate parchmentdrip's death earlier this year. the entire clan pauses their trip to allow the molly to gather her friends - gladiolusclaw, flickergaze, hollowheart, and weavercry - as well as the clan's archangel satinstar assisting in the burial by speaking words to honor the dead. satinstar apologizes to pufferstrike for not having the resources to send anyone to islandclan to inform her father and littermates of inkbread's death at this time, but promises that as soon as the clan is stable they will.

- amaqhinga is indecisive and cannot think of names, so they are just numbers for now
- he gets some weird looks, but since it's temporary no one says anything (heads up, it will not be temporary. those are their names. bamboozled again)
- dog takes his final exam and he's so proud of himself. church comes to him in a dream and tells him how proud she is at how far he's come. flea pays close attention to him, congratulating him for passing everything. HP does not acknowledge it

medidae starts getting jealous of born?? maybe vulpes openly praises them with medidae around, aiming to egg at the premolar trainee. it works.

ravenus's kits have grown up and are ready to become either coyotes, squirrels, or even a molar. ravenus is worried about Sparrow, who has no clue whats going on when Pyrrhus approaches them. Crocus, Nimbuswhorl, and Eaglejazz are all ready while the poor molly looked at the scarred tom with confusion. Pyrrhus gently looked at Ravenus, who frowned back at him, before he looked down at the trio in front of him. He asked them calmly what rank they wanted to be after explaining each one carefully. Nimbuswhorl quickly says Molar, while Eaglejazz and Crocus settle on Coyote. However, Pyrrhus doesn't just leave, and makes them all wait as he goes to fetch things.
Turns out, Pyrrhus knows how to communicate with deaf cats. He brought back a coyote skull, a hare from the prey pile, and a molar from a old cat. Laying them out in front of Sparrow, they looked up at Pyrrhus hopefully. With the tom nodding, she slammed her paw down on the coyote skull with a grin. Looking up at Ravenus, he nodded and looked at Sparrow. He mouths "Have you learned how to lip-read?"
The female nods, causing Ravenus to be confused.

-Briarcreek promises Jaggedear that she will keep and eye on Nightspot

- Ruestrike sees Brushfangs concern for Briarcreek and her family, and tells him they should think about helping out in the nursery

- Windclaw brags to Elmspark and Spothop about seeing Nightspot die
- Snowshoe overhears, and interrupts to tell him he has no bragging rights since he couldn't even save Nightspot

-Snowbell is determined to get the hawk who killed Nightspot, and ask Laurelstar to let her lead the patrol
- Jaggedear and Glowpelt ask to be on the patrol
- Glowplet asks Snowbell about her reasoning, since she wasn't there

-Creamfoot finds himself closer to being able to treat Fernpaw, and feels more relived
-Spothop is still actively being angry at him though
- Flamehope comes to tell him that Dawnrush isn't unsent with him

- Mintpaw is unbothered about not being able to take his assessment with his brothers

- Minnoweyes is disinterested in his kits and abandons them
-Snarlpelt takes them in, and ask Cherryblossom if she could help her raise the the three

The cats of The Esteemed's dwelling lives up to their name; the clan resides within an abandoned castle, though by appearance alone it would be hard to tell it wasn't inhabited by humans. Though left to the elements decades ago, the castle has never fallen into disrepair; no soul has been seen entering or exiting the property for many years, but the castle is as pristine as the day it's previous owner passed. Is it cursed, many wonder? But the cats of The Esteemed consider the peculiarity of the castle to be a gift; ever-clean and undilapidated, living in the castle sure beats sleeping in the surrounding woods.

Passing beneath the initial archway that marks your welcome to the castle, a set of heavy, gilded doors are ajar. The entryway is defined by the sitting room where the cats of The Esteemed hold clan meetings & mingle when not performing clan duties. Most rooms in the castle are inaccessible, closed away behind heavy doors no cat could ever hope to push open. But no matter - what space the castle did allow them was plenty.

The library contains the physicians and their knack for curing illness. Herbs can be catalogued and organized precisely upon the shelves that line the walls of the library, while cherubim gaze down from the painted ceilings. Being inside of the castle, warmth is not typically a concern and cats will sleep wherever suits their fancy at any given moment.

The kitchen, with an eternally roaring fire (a sound like an exhale emits from seemingly the walls; did the castle just breathe?) that makes it the perfect room for the caregivers to watch after their pages. Most barons, too, reside in the kitchen, for the warmth of the fire soothes their arthritic bones and lulls them into swift sleep.

"RUN, BRIDGES." Luna raced along the side of the human road, her paws tearing when they touched the ashphalt. Where were Fox and Blackberry Sugar?? How did they even get seperated?? It all felt like a dream, it had to be. They're being hunted by SHADOWS for the Spires' sake!
"DUCK!"
"WHAT?"
"I said- DUCK!!" Bridges leapt over the longhaired molly from the top of a car, ripping a shade away from clamping her throat. Spitting, they rolled in the grass before she darted after Luna. Droplets of blood shook off her pelt as they disappeared under a road bridge. No sound told them of safety. Only when Luna spotted her shadow, her shadow proper, again did they step out.
"Am I dreaming, or did that happen..?" she shook. Bridges rubbed the gash on her cheek, holding out her paw full of blood to her clanmate.
"It happened." Luna collapsed into the concrete with a sob. "Lun, Luna-moth, hey. Hey. Look at me," The torbie nudged her with her nose. Of course, she too was shocked by the absurdity of it all but it was time to step up. As Luna raised her muzzle from her paws, tears streaming, Bridges licked them away. "We're safe now. I didn't let anything happen to you, see? Home is just over the hill."
"A-Azul and Blackberry..."
"I'm sure they're fine. They're tough boys, they probably caught one for dinner." she mewed. Luna rubbed her ears and tried to shake off the anxiety.
"What do we... what do we do now..." she asked.
Bridges glances towards the bright spot in the sky the sun should be, her nose scrunching. "I'm going to speak with the Spires tonight."

█ Bridges goes to the Spires to attempt to communicate with the Faraway cats, but stops when she sees Whom. Whom chats with a shade underneath the Silver Spires, excited to have a new friend, which attracts the attention of a newcomer... I'm requesting an apprentice with black somewhere on their pelt! █
