The Harvester seems to take his time, walking out into the overgrown and derelict gardens as the wind from the passing storm rolls sand across his feet. There's a grumbling noise and a rumble from his throat as he inspects his tipped over pots. There is still an odd trembling under your paws, but Vedaris does not seem to make note of it as he breaks apart pots to help free the toothy creatures all curled up in the soil. with a helping hand, he unravels a peculiar looking creature with a giant maw and a glassy eye clutched inside. It's tail curls closer to it's body before it starts to poke and chew on nearby roots. This creature appears to be fond of the tough bark of thick flora-- and even attempts to get its strange leafy claws on Vedaris-- who just kind of, uses a large claw to pick it up and set it down somewhere else and not at his feet.

"Th!sszz 0ne shoould R3maIn happy here-- there Isszz much Overgr0wtth f0r it to ConsUme." He nods simply. "We wisshh Such th!nggzz had B3en m0re Ssuitable f0r Usss." He scoots the grub towards your feet, it curls at his touch, before uncurling again in search of food. A simple creature.

The toadstool pots are a terrible mess... this area of the garden appears to have flooded completely and the harvester slithers through puddles of water to rescue a few plants. It appears these fountains have overdone themselves, perhaps out of distress of the sandstorm that had passed through, the air still thick with dust and scathing bits of sand. Vedaris doesnt seem bothered by wet sand, however, and simply helps scoop the soggy soil out of the pot, and sets it down. The water spilling from the toadstool quickly washes all the soil away and a curious fungal creature sits free, water pouring from its vessels. It does not appear to have eyes, or even a mouth...

Vedaris doesn't seem to have much to say about this one, simply stating to leave it in damp soils or murky waters-- and that its perfectly safe to drink from. Probably.

The last of the pots have been emptied and you find the make shift gardens are but a pale comparison to what they once were. Something about it's disheviled nature was somewhat charming, but you know that this is the end and it sits heavy in your little werm tummy as the earth quakes only seem to get stronger.

"W3 haave enj0yed ourr t!mee wwith Th3ssee ssMall W3rrmzz... Mosst 0f th3m-- But Thi!szz 0ne musstt l3Arn and Gr0w. Our Attempt to Gr0w Ourr Harvesst hass N0t prooven Fru!tfull. And y3t... Full Gl@d to s3ee 0therrszz L!ke uss..."

At this statement, you seem to be seeing double as a larger Vedaris skulks out of the alleyway, mouth full of metal. It's teeth far sharper and threatening, it's tail split down the middle, contorted and strange as it slithers forward. And then another warily swaying behind some of the broken pots, smaller, more timid, but they all look at you and almost seem to tilt their head at precisely the same time. They are many. They are all the same creature, they seem to weigh you with the same thoughts as you small wermz are given the responsibility to care for your new plant friends and their ruined home.

"Th3zse 0ness mUsst Return--" one speaks and the other nods. "B@ck h0oome." It's voice similiar yet somewhat deeper and huskier as its split tail pulls the scrap from its teeth and begins picking up some of their belongings and... stuffing them inside the maw of the chest. "Thiszz 0ne W!ll sstay f0r noow-- until it iszz full. But We will retuurn for It." the split tailed harvester says. The chest itself repeats the words, "Unt!ll We aare Fu!ll..."

The Harvester you have gotten to know, lingers as the other parts of himself appear to busy quickly. "Y0uu haave Taught Uss much.. We h0ppe You t0oo... leArn t0 Gr0ww W3ll." It bobs it's head before there's a massive BOOM and rumble in the distance just outside the buildings. Sand clouds explode across the sky with a deep rumble that pierces the heavy air. You see it... The creature that the small Harvesters have been waiting for. Like a train, it comes bursting out of the sands, familiar maw opening to the sky as sand filters from its jaws like water falls and its many thorny spines surf the sands like shark fins. It's body appears endless, going further than you can see past the horizon.

Vedaris gives you a toothy grin that speaks of mischievousness and knowing. But he simply picks up a basket filled with his precious items that the small wermz had gifted him. And all at once, you witness all of the harvesters slither off in the same direction at once and vanish between the buildings as the large monster awaits them, like picking up it's children from spring break. You're not certain you will see them again as you watch the giant maw turns away from the ruins and cities. An eerie long rumble of it's voice shakes the unstable buildings around you, and begins to burrow under the sand once more with its smaller selves in tow.

But just as you begin to ponder this, you see something small climbing out of a pot-- that stick that had been growing in the shop... It seems to have grown into a small harvester. Before you can question it, it's gone. Vanished into the rubbish somewhere to eat and grow...
