Phoenix happily tells Rat a story about their trip when the trio returns home, and Rat can't understand why they keep going to such a scary sounding place, but decides to just leave them be. At least all three seem happy. Once again, the trio sets off for the lab, hoping they will have another successful trip. (Thank you!)

Rainen threw a single look over his shoulder before departing from the shopping district. While there were certainly going to be some clues there, anything left completely exposed to the elements was far more abundant, and in far more danger of being compromised.

As Rainen scanned the ground for anything peeking out of the dirt, he winced and squinted his gaze toward the sudden gust of sand blowing into his side. The ground began to rumble. He braced himself and looked upward--

At a massive figure erupting from the ground in the distance, dust clouding from the violent disruption. It seemed to... eat a structure nearby, before disappearing back into the ground, causing another rumble.

"...R-Right. Aha...! Okay!" he whispered semi-hysterically, going back to looking through the sand and around nearby rubble.

extra: Rainbow decides to head out again! He manages to convince Gwendolyn to check out the outskirts by telling her that there are some totally awesome things there! Gwendolyn doesn't help Rainbow as he bounces around and picks up random things. All she does is complain about how windy it is today, and that the dust is getting all over her fur. Rainbow doesn't pay attention to her as he continues to look at everything. Rainbow decides to toss the... weird looking shiny things at Gwendolyn. He decides to keep the really good stuff, like a normal rock, to himself! Although Gwendolyn still is complaining about the sand in her eyes, she does start to feel a little better seeing the shiny stuff around...
