Benedict squirmed in his nest, unable to sleep as moonlight filtered through the branches above. This place was perfect- food, water, shelter and protection from anything that may come their way. And yet... even the thought of settling somewhere permanently made Benedict's stomach tie in knots. No, they couldn't stay forever. Oasis was a good place to rest after their journey, to stock up on travel snacks, maybe drop off a few scavenged finds, but that was all. He hadn't spoken to her, but he knew Amaranth, sleeping deeply next to him, would feel the same. They couldn't stay here. With that, the pieces of the puzzle began to fall into place in Benedict's mind. Tomorrow he would talk to Dandelion.
