why dont CS players want horses or rats?

it seems when most people specify pets they DONT want to be traded, its always animals like equines, bats, rats, and other rodents.

why the hate/negative bias towards these guys??

I think it might have something to do with the designs of them. Like personally I prefer to not be traded horses because I find them ugly.
I do really like rodents and bats though.

I think its down to personal preference, and it seems most people just don't like how these specific pets look.

I love the cs equines! I’m not sure why other people don’t like them. I’m not the biggest fan of the rats. I’ve never liked them in real life, so maybe that has something to do with it?

I love the rats! My goal is to collect all of them so people hating them kinda works in my favor but they deserve more love
I recently got my sister playing and she has the same goal so there's always a bit of competition when we find people selling rare rats and stuff lol

With the horses and rats I think it's because of size weirdness. Rats are too large and horses are too small, compared to dogs and cats and stuff. And they're harder to dress up and don't have as many options. But I don't discriminate against them! I think the smooth rats can look a liiiiiiittle ugly, but I really love the fluffy rats. I think some users may not like rats as an animal because they're associated with disease and infestation, and they're a common thing to be grossed out by.

But have you noticed that when a CS user likes rats, they LOVE them? I see more rat hoards and rat cheering than for any other species I think. Like, when I see someone who is a fan of the cats, they're like "yeah I'm collecting all the cats". But when it's for rats, it's like "RATS RATS RATS!!!!!!!" and they have 100,000 of them lol

I'm a rat collector, and currently very close to completing my rat collection. Some cs rat lovers actually do have pet rats irl, and I myself had rats before. They sadly don't live very long, but they stay in your hearts forever.

From being in CS discords, apperantly most people don't like rats due to the nose/snout lines, and the smooth lines reason (like you said). I can get why about the snout, but honestly; it makes them even more cartoony. And I like cartoony art styles!

personally i just find them easier to trade off, and am less attached to their designs. it's all about preference though

As far as horses & ponies: Just not a huge fan of the lines, tbh. Some designs are really nice, though. So, I do try to keep one of each outcome, but I'm missing lots of the older horses.
I'd rather try to focus on pets I actually *want* and need for my collection, before I try to go after ones I'd just need for collection purposes only.
I do like rats, and I'm pretty sure I've got a full collection of them. <3
Edit: Checked archives and "You have collected all of the Rats ever released!" So yup, I got them all! <3

in my opinion, i really like horses and rats but i end up preferring different species in trades not because i dont like the horses or rats, but because the horses/rats i find more difficult to trade away than other species like dogs, which are very easy to trade away.
