Lark stood in the Great Hall and hissed at Samba, the sound echoing out against the stone walls. "No, it's step, step, step, dip, step, step, bow, twirl!" she growled. At the end of every flood season, mating season began. At that time, a little dance was held in the Great Hall to celebrate and maybe get to know somebody better. Larkian and Samba would be doing their own little dance, but sadly, he couldn't get the moves right.

"So, like this?" Samba asked, stepping backward, then forward, then to the side, then dipping into a crouch. He then stepped back once, forward once, bowed his head, and then did a little spin thing. He was happy to see that Lark was smiling, meaning he'd done it right. "Couldn't you have thought up something a little easier?" he asked. Lark then laughed and told him that that was only the introduction. With a groan, Samba flopped onto the ground and placed his paws over his eyes.

Venus knew this couldn't last long. She would have to get back to camp soon, to help out with the flood situation taking the lands by storm. But how could she when there was so much right in front of her that she couldn't leave. She couldn't leave Jace. She now thought that it may be physically impossible, that her paws would not take her away. The knowledge that she had to leave, and soon, weighed down on this joyful moment, though she didn't show it. She smiled slightly, bringing her face closer to his. "You know, that tree you used to sleep under likes to haunt me these days. Like a constant reminder of the fact that I've needed to feel your presence again."

Jace let a gentle sigh escape his throat as his gaze rested on Venus. He almost stopped breathing when she moved her head closer to his, but regained focus once again. His golden gaze seemed so deep and it was like he didn't want to let go anymore. His warm breath trailed through her sleek fur as he listened to what she was saying. "I'm here now Venus" he assured her, his ears settling back against his head. "I've missed you Venus, I've missed everything about you." Jace murmured softly. "I'm sorry Venus. For everything that's ever happened. For everything that kept us apart." He gazed into her eyes, his own deep in thought. "Its been too long...much too long"

Venus nodded, though the tell-tale signs of her nervousness were shown. She bit her bottom lip and shuffled her paws, not intending to show her feelings but doing it without choice. "Do you remember when we first met, Jace? When you left, and I didn't want you to. Then Bael attacked, and you saved me... You were my hero, and I knew right then that we would be amazing friends." she said slowly, wondering how to conclude this. She had to tell Jace what she felt. What she felt for him. But how? Now definitely wasn't the time. A lone roar rang out from her pridelands, signalling it was time for her return. Their reunion had been so short, and now it must be ended. Venus' eyes were sorrowful. She feared losing the only one she truly felt she couldn't live without. "I have to go." she said, her voice easily showing her reluctance. Pain returned to her heart. How she wished that Jace would keep her here. She wished he would sweep her off her paws, tell her that he could take care of her. She wished he would tell her that he wanted to be the only one to do that, to tell her he wanted to wake up at her side each morning. She wished he would pull her into an amazing kiss that sent fireworks through the both of them. But there was no time. She put her paw to his chest, making sure he didn't do anything she wished he would; If he did, she wouldn't be able to let herself be torn away. "Promise me I'll see you again, Jace. Please, promise me." her voice was sweet but slightly pleading. "When the sun starts to set. Could you meet me here?" she whispered the question, her face so close to his. She breathed in his intoxicating scent. His lips were so close to hers, only an inch or so to go before she could feel as if they were one. How she longed for that sort of deep physical contact, but how she knew that now was not the time. At sunset, she promised herself.

Jace barely had any time to respond to Venus, when she asked if he remembered when they first met. When she spoke, it was like time was still. Hearing the lone roar from the pride lands, Jace's ears flickered and then stayed back against his head. He didn't want her to leave. Had their time together ended once again? How would he see her again? He wasn't sure what to do now. His eyes didn't want to look away from hers, his deep golden eyes. "Venus I'm here, I promise you" he stated in his reassuring, smooth voice. They were so close. He could feel her breath, and he was sure she could feel his. "I'll be around, right before sunset, you'll find me, I promise" He said, the last part between breaths. Lowering his head to be level with hers, he locked his gaze with hers, and brushing the side of his muzzle gently against the side of her cheek. "We'll meet again." he assured her, and then pulled back, a slight, subtle smile playing on his face. It was the sort of smile that looked like it would tear apart as soon as she left. They'd just found each other. Now, she had to leave again. He made sure that he promised not only her, but himself that he would find her right before sunset.

Venus forced a smile. She sat on her haunches, putting her paws around Jace and hugging him. Her muzzle was only a millicentimeter from his when she hugged him. She felt the fur brush. That little bit of contact made her feel warm and fiery. "Nothing will keep me away." she promised. "I'll see you later." she said sweetly, pecking his cheek ever so gently before taking off at a trot, but looking back at him with a grim smile once or twice before she knew if she did it again her paws would turn around.

Hrath felt pure energy surging inside him. "Well, you are gonna be super rotten!" he called, looking behind him. Staring into the clouds he noticed what looked like a female lion looking down on him. Smiling, Hrath continued to run. The pounding could be heard a distence away and the breath seemed to be scooped out of him.

Gea walked silently into camp, her heart seeming to be in her stomach. She raised her head as Samba practiced dancing. Dancing! She had forgotten! Mating season was coming and she needed a dance. I'll dance by myself. She thought crossly. Samba was occupied with Lark at the moment. She turned away and walked into an open space where she could easily practice her dancing. Starting off, she rose onto her hind-legs and did a soft, elegant twirl. Landing firmly, she took off in a spin of steps.

Madi did her best to keep up with Hrath. She used all her energy but wasn't able to keep it up. Her stomach growled hungrily. She needed food to produce energy for the rest of the day. She panted hard and the wind blew sweat off of her for-head.

Derik entered into camp and noticed all the lions looking at him. He looked at the ground and sighed knowing that no one would talk to him. He walked around until he found a rock to sit on. He was about to jump up onto the rock when another lion took it from him. The lion glared at Derik in an ugly way. Derik sighed and walked on until he decided to just lie down on a branch of a large tree. His ears were pulled back to show that he was sad and lonely. He was one of the lowest members of the pride that day when he joined.
