I could have sworn that the strawberry PPS is rarer than the strawberry dog. When I traded for the PPS several years ago, the kind user gifted me the adult dog—it’s unlikely that it would have been rarer. I remember it being rare while the PPS was VR at that time.

The Strawberry PPS turned very rare a month later than the Growing Strawberry Dog - the grown dog turned very rare in September 2011, whereas the PPS outcome turned very rare a month later in October 2011 (Guide to CS Rarities) (Rarity Change Archive). From a rarity perspective, the grown outcome would sit higher in value than the PPS outcome, though the extent of the difference is difficult to pin down with 100% accuracy as we don't have exact release data ^^

the corgis have high demand so they are worth an MA. just like the deer store pets worth an MA, they aren't on the list but due to high demand are worth an MA.

So I'm one of the users who is very grateful for an updated rarity list so thank you.

I'm very unsure however about the C$ list. It's always been accepted that you cant add up pets for C$ like you can for worth but that's what you seem to have done here which is going to grossly over-estimate the C$ value of every pet.

On the old, discontinued (since 2019 - 3 yrs ago) thread it was stated that:

Example: X is worth 4 nons. Wouldn’t it be worth 4000C$ then?
Pet worth is different than C$ worth. It’s never advised to add it like that. C$ wasn’t totaled like that when The Rares List was active. It’s discontinuation doesn’t change C$ is different than demand/user pet worth.
Keep in mind the USD value as well. 1USD=19C$. 2000C$=105USD and so on.
It would be better if you’re wanting x amount of pet worth of C$ from your pet to trade it down and then sell those pets for C$.

As an example of what I'm talking about, according to this thread '[1 Mid Advent] = 6-9 09 Rares ------ 250-300C$' whereas in the old thread '1MA = 6-8 2009 Rares' OR '1MA = 85-90C$', you couldn't mix the currencies like it is now.

According to this new thread, an MA will now cost you $13.16-$15.79 ACTUAL real money (USD) even at the best bulk buy level (19C$:1USD) when only 3yrs ago it would cost $4.47-$4.74 and something much higher such as a Non is now $84.21-$105.26 (although it states that the high end of $105.26 is an 'average' that a Non goes for) compared to the 'old thread' value of $55.26.

Any higher and the OP does give the warning that the values are 'only a starting point' however to put it into perspective a Sunjewel will now cost you $263.15-$315.79 (depending which line you read) instead of the 'old' value of $97.37 or a UR Tiger who is now $473.68 instead of $97.37!

The old list gave a warning to anyone creating a new C$ list which is that:

The rares list has been discontinued as of March 1, 2o19 and will no longer be updated. These values will remain here for anyone that wants a rough reference but will no longer be updated yearly. If you would like to continue using the rares list and C$ guide in the future, update as you see fit, but remember C$ values rise very slowly.

I feel that while the new rarity list really makes a lot of sense the C$ list is flawed and needs looking at again.
If I've missed something, let me know otherwise imho I feel the current standing is very unfair to any new users (compared to what we could get a couple of years ago), to offsite/cross-site traders, to art payment users and anyone else who buys pets with C$.

Not going to quote your whole response since it's long, but here goes!

The issue, I think, is that C$ to USD conversion is barely operable now. There are people who have been saving thousands of C$ - I've seen up to 10k worth. The reason for this is because it's pretty easy to get a lot of small trades. People will have C$ store groups and can get 50 C$ per trade for a handful of commons and uncommons - I've bought from them because it's such an easy way to get low-value pets without trying to bulk trade for other pets, especially since so few users are interested in bulk trades. I've been trying to get a ton of wishlist uncommons/commons but I don't want to make a single trade for every low value pet I need, but most bulk trades rot in my center. It's unfortunate, because I don't like to add to the hoarding of C$. But it's just easiest. I digress, though..

Basically, the values are so over-estimated is because people are constantly trying to one-up each other to get high value pets for a ton of C$. Because C$ is, more or less, useless once you have thousands because the shop isn't big and store pets only come out every few months. Even now the pets being bought in incredible bulk and hardly have value months after they've gone since people have so much to burn. And there's a lot of people who want high-demand pet, but not a lot of people who want a ton of C$... so the only way to really get a high value pet with C$ is to offer an absurd amount of it, otherwise it's just kind of pointless.

I'm not sure I'm explaining this well - I was never very good at economics lol! The answer is, more or less, inflation. The C$ list exists merely because without it, people will just continue to charge more and more and more. Even with its existence people are trying to charge more. I'm not trying to say it's useless... but I think that the odds of anyone being able to truly know the value of a pet per C$ is near impossible, especially since our only real way of telling what a pet's value is is by looking at trades - which are just so oversaturated with people overpaying because they have more C$ then they would ever know what to do with otherwise.

I would take a look at this suggestion thread for more info, it's basically brainstorming how we can get less C$ circulating from user to user & there's a lot of people who mention how/why this is occurring in better words than I can.

I agree, it's pretty unfair to new users. But even if the list said that 1MA = 85C$, there's people who can offer $1k. New users are going to lose either way, because not a lot of people are going to turn down a better offer just because it isn't fair.

Can't an official admin make a rarity list the reason I lose on rare's so much is cause most follow horrors list although helpful is really making trading no fun and much harder that's just my opinion! everyone else is lucky though if you're a new player this is no help to new players XD I'm middle learning still and although there's raffles and nice people friends that trade friends rares its killing me and probably some other players trying to make a 'fair' trade which half of which is turned down cause of this list so far to me then again its helped players value their lists!
