Louve

Louve twitched her ears absently as she stooped down to take something from the kill pile, making sure to take just enough for her size. “That is very good to hear my friend” she replied back honestly, nodding along as she took a bite out of her breakfast. “Oh, uh, it’s nothing really. I’m just having a bit of trouble sleeping but I’m sure it’ll go away eventually” she shrugged knowing full well she’s experience this for a long time now.

Smoke | Warrior | L-Pack | Tagging: Thessadowes | Location: Camp

Smoke wasn’t as oblivious as she may seem on the surface. Sometimes, there was a subtle shift in one's posture or even their scent if one had learned to become attuned enough to the subtleties. She slid her dark blue gaze over to the Huntress slowly. She really hadn’t noticed? Of course, first thing in the morning, she’d been smacked in the face with a snowball, which Smoke figured could be pretty distracting.

"Yeah, I’m thinking about it," Smoke admitted. She didn’t usually go out of her own volition, but if she stuck around camp throwing snowballs, she may very well go mad. "If you wanna come out with me, I certainly wouldn’t reject the company. And I promise, no more snowballs."

Toby | Hunter | L-Pack | Tagging: Roque | Location: Camp -> Forest

"I guess the better way of putting it would be, an open area that isn’t already in use or covered with ice. Since the sun is out and slowly melting things, the ice will be at its worst soon, and the last thing we need is a trip to the Healer's den." Toby figured the question had been a reasonable one. Roque was sharp-minded to say the least, really, he figured it was an honour that he’d been placed with Roque for his first Trainee.

Toby took a deep breath. He headed for the camp entrance and out into the forest. "Keep a close eye," he warned. Just because they were Hunters didn’t make them immune to being targets should any enemy Warriors be lurking in their territory. He knew the Warriors would have noticed, but he didn’t like taking any chances.

Móraín | Warrior | F-Pack | Tagging: Blitz | Location: Camp

Móraín’s pale gaze shifted towards the red, brown, and black furred Lead, and she rolled her eyes. "I’m sure we could interrupt if we really needed to," she noted once Canary had wandered off. It was just the great Warrior Erle with the small Warrior now. He was undoubtedly one of the largest and strongest wolves in their Pack, and could be easily mistaken for the Alpha from a distance. Up close though, their scars set them apart.

"It’s only Erle, she’s with him on a regular basis. In fact, I don’t think I’ve seen them apart aside from sleeping for quite some time now," Móraín noted. She stood up and stretched, both hearing and feeling the pleasant crack in her spine, gentle, as the muscles fit to the bones. "Right. Food it is!"

Catania | Hunter | F-Pack | Tagging: Apollo | Location: Camp

Catania grimaced, exaggerated greatly. "I’ve given it a couple tries. It’s less slimy and more scaly and rough, kinda like those old squirrels, if they’d been left in the rain for three days. Tough and wet. Try it for yourself if you don’t believe me, but in my own experience, it’s terrible," she noted. She’d tried at a dare from her father when she had been a pup, then again as a Trainee, but it wasn’t any better the second time.

Fish | Warrior | L-Pack | Tagging: River | Location: Camp

Fish wagged her tail. Perhaps rightfully so, very few wolves had ever entrusted her with a secret, however, for all her talkative nature and ditzy nature— largely influenced by the remnants of her concussion— she had sworn to herself when she was younger that even if wolves looked down on her, she was loyal to the end. She was never going to betray, whether it was her Pack, or the few who may consider her a friend.

"Don’t worry." Fish gently nudged River, heading for the prey pile. "I know she can be a bit harsh with the adults, two years and older and all, but your secret's safe with me. Besides, even if I had said something, who would believe me?" She pointed out. It was no secret. Most if not all of the Pack simply assumed Fishbwas crazy, with how upbeat she was, no matter what the situation, with her pup-like nature. With her concussion. "And aren’t you her friend or something?"

Blizzard | Warrior | L-Pack | Tagging: Louve, Mick | Location: Camp

"Don’t you want to be LESS tired? I’m SURE the Healers will have something…" Blizzard knew he couldn’t change her mind. That had never been how things worked. Louve was as stubborn as Blizzard himself was, and arguing would get them nowhere. He only hoped she knew it stemmed for him from worry, rather than arguing for the sake of it. He glanced over at Louve briefly again. "Oh I know, I’m just teasing," he promised, gently nudging her shoulder. Louve's love interest was no secret, and it was mutual and painfully obvious at that. How nothing had happened yet was far beyond Blizzard's understanding. However…one may say the same of him.

Blizzard chuckled at Mick, never one to miss a beat, with a witty comeback no matter what, it seemed. Few wolves could coax such naturally easy reactions out of him, such lighthearted ones, but Mick and Louve were his nearest and dearest. His folks. The wolves he would trust with his life. One his best friend for as long as he could remember— and admittedly perhaps there was something more there— and the other his only surviving family, the sister he had grown up alongside and raised after the passing of their parents. These were wolves he would fight and die for in a heartbeat if need be someday.

"Well let’s see what we can grab then. Looks like we were some of the last to get there," Blizzard noted as Aala, Axis, and Karter approached the pile. After all, despite being one of the early risers…well. Karter wasn't exactly the earliest to eat. Usually waited until the bigger wolves had the chance. "If we're lucky, maybe there’ll be something that isn’t frogs or fish left over. I know Fish tried to grab trout last night. I’ll never understand why she keeps trying when nobody except her wants it."

Leo | Warrior | L-Pack | Tagging: Rya | Location: Camp

Leo scuffed his paw across the snowy ground. He looked almost identical to his mother, but unlike her, he still complained. She had much more life experience, at a little more than six years old, to Leo's not quite two. He was still smiling brightly though, a bright light shining in crystal blue eyes. He’d struggled to settle back into Pack life after having fled. And his leaving had been no secret, he knew some wolves may view him as a traitor of sorts, but ultimately, this was his home, his mother was here, so was Rain, his little sister by adoption, and that was what mattered. Family, friends, home.

"It’s helpful for a Hunter, less so for a Warrior. All I get out of it is wolves tripping on me in the snow whenever I’m laying down or sitting low on the ground." Some white wolves had off white coats, or grey-white. Not Leo. Leo was snow-white, not a single fleck of grey on him. It was easy to miss him in the snow if one wasn’t paying attention to scene, and in camp, scents all mixed together, old and new alike.

Karter | Warrior | L-Pack | Tagging: Aala, Axis | Location: Camp

"May as well, I’m not seein' any argument," Karter pointed out. Of course, he wasn’t going to reject the company of someone he saw as a friend, and Aala had never struck Karter as the type to push others away. Whether it was because of a gentle, mild-mannered nature, or because she truly didn’t mind the company of even some of her more…energetic companions, to put it kindly, Karter hadn’t the faintest idea. He was glad for it though, because he wasn’t someone who was easy to get along with, but Aala had always been there with a smile and a kind word.

Arian | Lead Warrior | F-Pack | Tagging: Erle, Canary | Location: Camp

"Gather whoever you need, two or three others should suffice unless you think there’s reason to bring more, if you’ve sensed trouble," Arian noted before Canary had gone off. The mottled Warrior turned to face Erle finally. As much as she hated to admit it, aloud or even to herself, as a leader figure, she could not deny it was true her mind was weighed down, and Erle…he had always been the one and only wolf outside her family that she could trust. He and Miera were her only go-tos. One her sister, one her friend and coworker.

"Well…" Arian slowly breathed out. Discussing…FEELINGS. It was foreign to her in many ways. However, he was someone she knew in her heart she could trust. "It’s foolish, especially with the war drawing nearer and nearer," she started. She slowly exhaled. "I’ve been thinking…about family." It had been a long time since she had allowed her thoughts to go there. It wasn’t good for her, or for the wolves she was close to, to know she worried, to know her mind was filled with such trivial thoughts now of all times.

Kassandra | Hunter | F-Pack | Tagging: Serafina | Location: Camp

"Then someone else ought to. It’s not the most wonderful task in the world, obviously, but we’ve all had to do it at some point or another," Kass noted with a one shouldered shrug. She stood up, licking back an out of place tuft of black fur. If nothing else, she couldn’t stand the idea of looking out of place in the slightest. Her looks were important to her. Someone may say she was vain, but she hardly cared.

"Well, why don’t we gather Catania? She hasn’t been out much in recent days," Kass remembered. At least to her knowledge, the fluffy Huntress had lacked duty severely, even since graduation, what with her lingering health issues after her illness back in her Trainee days. Kass tilted her head to the side. "It isn’t exactly fair that she should be stuck at camp and not chosen for any hunting parties, after all."

Max | Alpha | F-Pack | Tagging: Cartel | Location: Camp

Max moved away from the nearly empty prey pile. How terrible. If the Hunters would not take initiative, he would force a group out. Perhaps give Tendril or Catania, the younger ones, the chance to lead, if it was left up to him. Of course, in the case of Catania, it could be seen as favouritism, she’d always been his favourite, everyone knew that. Every wolf, regardless of who they were, deserved a chance though. He couldn’t hold her back for fear that others would see it as him playing favourites. If he did, she would never have even the slightest CHANCE to prove herself.

The Alpha smoothed back black fur, but it did little, stretching over a strong muscle structure. He dipped his head as he approached Cartel, who had freshly emerged, one of the late risers from the looks of it. "Good morning to you, Cartel," he greeted his companion. "How are you doing this morning?" Max wasn’t above making small talk. They may be focused on combat, but stronger social connections made for stronger teamwork on the field.

Rya | Huntress | Lightning | Location: Camp | Tagging: Leo

Rya nodded silently, somehow half listening as she was still trying to grasp a feeling of the day. How much would she need to hunt, how much could the other hunters possibly brings. If she brought too little she would be frown upon but at the same time if she brought too much it would end up the same. Preys were still scarce in these times as some of them were still hibernating, well at least the ones she was able to catch. Rya was not the most skilled hunter, she never felt like such either she was just... average.

"Well it does seems non-practical since we are not at war. If we were you could be a fantastic ambush plan but i do see somehow where you are coming from. I might not totally blend in when there is no more snow but it occured a few times that other had tripped on me since they weren't particularly looking were they were going and didn't see me there. " She added not knowing what more she could say. The brown and beige she-wolf had never been great at socializing, well if she once was she had no memories of it at least.

Leo | Warrior | L-Pack | Tagging: Rya | Location: Camp

Ah. Blissfully unaware. That must be nice. The joys of being a Hunter, Leo supposed. Even there though, much of the time it seemed every Warrior, Trainee, and Elder knew about what was going on. If Rya had sheltered herself all this time though…perhaps it was for her own good. However, he still couldn’t help but wonder. "What…What are you talking about? We’ve been at war since I was…" he thought about that. It was so far back he could barely remember. He remembered the day though. As clear as day. As much as he wished otherwise. "I was still a Trainee when it started."

Shadow | Alpha | L-Pack | Tagging: Terra, Dolce | Location: Camp

"To see who WON'T go?" That was an odd statement, Shadow noted. Pity there wasn’t more time, she supposed, but life was busy, especially in the early portions of the day. "Of course. Just give me a few moments. There’s something I’d like to go over with Dolce first," she said. Shadow was patient in general. It took patience to be in any position of leadership, and if that meant juggling, then that was that.

Max | Alpha | F-Pack | Tagging: Cartel, Canary | Location: Camp

Annoyance flickered through Max, and he was sure it showed in his posture, but he did not give voice to it. Petty annoyance was unsuitable for an Alpha. He needed this. He had decisions to make, and he couldn’t make them if he didn’t step in and take action. Likely both the wolves he had in mind for the time being would be out of camp too. I’ll find some other way to be productive and work towards this, then. "Of course, Canary. Has Arian given the order, then?"

Rya | Huntress | Lightning | Location: Camp | Tagging: Leo

The female frowned a bit before putting all her mind back into the conversation. Right they were in fact in a war, yes she needed to remember that sometime she even forgot about such a huge event. If one were to ask her why there was a war she wouldn't know what to answer.

"Right! I mean, well at least i think our pack isn't looking to ambush or to try and kill more of the ennemy. That's what i think so i might be awfully wrong but i do believe everyones live is worth more than a dispute that keeps taking more and more lives. But I am just a mere hunter only doing her job, im not built for fighting in fact I am quite weak. But then again, I do not know much about leadership so maybe this war is meant to be or whatever. " Rya started to rambled on trying to make it seems like she did understand a bit yet she just threw herself in the hole of emptiness that was her mind. So much words meaning nothing, quite blank and empty just like her memory.

Leo | Warrior | L-Pack | Tagging: Rya | Location: Camp

"Ambush is rarely the idea. It’s more that when we meet at borders, we have no hesitation to attack and…and…" Leo stared down at the ground. "And sometimes, wolves don’t make it back. Fire Pack's launched a few direct attacks some months ago. I was lucky enough to be a Trainee then, just returned to the Pack and the training itself, and so I wasn’t on the front lines though. That was a chaotic time. Things have settled a LITTLE since then, thank sky-dogs!"

Leo remembered Shadow telling him about how it started, what had happened in the months in which he had been absent, making him both thankful for his chance to grow up a little more on his own, and feeling guilty for having abandoned his mother after she’d lost her only other pups. "It all started…just because two pups were killed. Then it escalated until it got just plain ridiculous. I think…it’s for the better though. One day, someone will realize what this does to us and stop. Until then, I follow Shadow's orders to the letter."

OOC: Quoting for Luna

IC:

Shadow | Alpha | L-Pack | Tagging: Dolce | Location: Camp

Shadow had awakened some time ago, and simply had not emerged from her den just yet. However, hearing voices outside, she determined it was about time she roused herself. So she straightened, grooming her fur back enough that she looked presentable, and stepped outside. Shadow knew that after so many years, she had gathered much respect, and she knew that her friends, the ones she wanted to impress, were few and far between, but she still most often made an attempt to *look* presentable.

"Dolce, may I have a word?" She asked, catching sight of the Warrior. There were things she had to think about, but there were also things she had to speak about, make sure her choices were right, and she wasn’t just imagining a potential outcome. This would be the best way to do so, and besides, she did find Dolce's presence comforting.

Thessadowes | Lightning Pack | All-Around | Location: Camp | Tagging: Smoke

Thessadowes shook her head, as if it were an attempt to clear away her negative thoughts. Nothing good would come of it, even if it wasn't anything heavy. She raised her head to glance around the camp briefly, before averting her gaze and looking back at Smoke. She offered a smile, and flicked an ear in response.
"I'd be happy to. Gotta get some blood running for this cold morning." Thess agreed, wagging her tail once.
"Ha, good to hear. Truce." She joked, giving a little laugh at Smoke's last remark. "When do you plan on leaving? Want to gather a few more wolves, see if anyone would like to come as well?"
