ahh omg so lucky! I really want Santino but I don't want to pay a crazy price for him since he's not released in my state. Molly is also super cute! Does she have the printed fabric or a fuzzy top like some Malcolms?
It's printed fabric, the kind that's only soft in one direction, if that makes sense? It doesn't bug me much, but I know some people are particular about that.

My dad made a surprise Easter basket for me last night, it was sitting in the living room when I woke up. And the best part? He got me not one, but two Disney squishies! A Stitch and a Pooh. ;u; I didn't think the Walmart he works at ever got any, but I guess they did. I feel so spoiled lol.

They just announced this on the Squishmallows FB page. Needless to say, it's got people pretty divided. Personally, I see this as a terrible move, at least as far as their community goes. As if these things weren't hard enough to get already, what with the shelf clearers and price gougers online, now they're making it worse by giving them different rarities. They should've saved the rarity thing for the trading cards, but I guess that's not enough. I'm glad I managed to pull myself away from collecting enough that I no longer feel that "I gotta have it" feeling when I see new ones, because it would definitely be pretty detrimental to my mental health with this new system in place.

Dia. wrote:They've actually had rarities on the website since it was updated ^^ None of them really seem all that accurate though. I think a lot of people are going to ignore them.
Yeah, but these new rarities seem to be more than just a tag on the website, that's the thing. They're going to have stamps on the physical tags now to denote their rarity, and there are going to be a limited number of each one "in the wild." Plus, the rarities on the website were for the trading cards, not the plushes themselves. Now it's for the physical plush. And that's why I think it's a bad idea. They're already super limited in a lot of areas, so making them limited in number like this doesn't seem like a good move. What about people who live in smaller towns or places that don't have certain stores? I guess they're just out of luck then?

i'm not pleased with the rarities tbh. it feels the company is encouraging reselling and capitalizing on people's fear of missing out, which feels especially scummy for something that's meant to be a children's toy. they shouldn't be collectors items! they're for kids! it's fine if you want to collect them just for the sake of it, but i hate how the artificial scarcity and shelf-clearing means that actual children aren't going to get toys created for them

I definitely agree with you there. When I first learned of the existence of Squishmallows, they were very much being marketed specifically for children from what I could tell. But as time went on, they started to take more and more notice of the adult collectors and just kicked their child audience to the curb essentially, in favor of getting more money from adults. I have no qualms with any adult collectors, as I am one myself, my problem lies entirely with the company itself. They're putting profit over their community and it's just so disgusting. That's just one of the many reasons I've all but entirely stopped collecting them. I might pick one up occasionally if I happen to find one while I'm out shopping for other things, but I'm never going to go hunting specifically for them again. Honestly, if their quality keeps tanking the way it is, I'll probably stop altogether at some point. The only plush companies I feel okay with giving my money to now are Fluffnest, Aurora, and Bellzi.

Hello everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. I always enjoy coming back and reading about everyone’s finds!
I don’t necessarily have an opinion on the rarity tags. We don’t actually get a whole heap of Squishmallow drops in my country, nowhere near as many as America, so anything is pretty hard to come by or we simply don’t get as much of a choice. I’m curious about seeing what’s officially rare and what’s not, and how it’ll effect scalping, but that’s about it.
I have no idea what I posted about finding last (I think it was about Gustavus?) but I’ve had pretty good luck since then with my finds and have probably bought more the last two months than I have in a while. I’ve found:
- Clip Rahima. She was in our local toy store for ages, but no one was buying her so I bought her because she was cute and I felt bad lol. I also got a clip Chet though I don’t remember if I posted about him or not.
- 5 inch cookie. She’s the tie-dye version with the flower - she’s really flat for some reason? She doesn’t seem to have a lot of stuffing which is unfortunate but she was too cute to pass up
- 8 inch Ludwig and Corinna (fluffy belly, rainbow ears)
- 10 inch (?) Aimee, fluffy yellow-white belly
- 12 inch Easter Candess and 12 inch Palmer with the bandana
My partner also purchased a big Pilar (no idea the size off the top of my head) which I’ll be taking when I can find the room lol.
Also I do have to agree about the quality going downhill. I always double check any squish before I buy them just in case their faces are off-centre or have some loose stitching etc. It’s really unfortunate. We got some of the Hello Kitty summer collection (the ones Costco stocked) at my workplace and their faces were all off centre or they were all weird shapes. I really hope they fix these issues!
Anyway sorry for the long post, have a good day everyone!
