Do You Ride Horses? V.4

Hey there! I'm a horseback rider of three years who just found this thread! I ride english, and I'm training to start showing in the next year or so! Does anyone here have any advice? Thanks!

Hi! I'm going to begin showjumping! I'm planning on showing a thoroughbred that I've worked with for a year or so now. He's a dark bay, around 15.5hh and he has the cutest eyes and snoot!

make sure that you know the course well beforehand, even if it is simple ^^ make sure to take deep breaths and trust in the practice and time, effort, and the bond you've built with your horse. You're going to do great, and if you've worked with a trainer also make sure to listen to them. If you also have any warm-up time before you ride, use it to get used to the ring and to focus and get any jitters out. It helps to think like you're riding at your home arena

yeah im not the best at advice I just try to remind myself that stressing won't make anything better and even pros dont always have the best rides

I leave next monday for what will quite literally be the biggest race of my life! 2500+ riders or more. Im so excited yet so nervous. Its just like any other race ive ran at..just soooo many more people

am i reading this right? over 2.5k horses? lord almighty i’ve never heard of anything like that !! good luck! i’m from england so im used to thoroughbred racing and the biggest race i can think of is grand national... is it like endurance that you’re gonna do or something else? sounds exciting all the same!

I was confused too and then I read their signature I believe they're talking about barrel racing

So I had a breed test done for my horse and It came back as Morgan and Akhal-Teke/Turkoman. My friends are all like "Wow, Teke! That's so cool!" and meanwhile I'm just super happy about the Morgan, lmao. Tekes aren't my style, so while it certainly explains a lot about him, they weren't really on my radar. Morgans are one of my favorite breeds though, especially the old style working type. <3

Anyone else done a breed test? Where you surprised? Disappointed? Happy?
