"Star light, star bright..." the little girl began, her head craned up at the sky.
Its eyes slowly opened, revealing a glistening silver."...The first star I see tonight..."
Its body uncurled, stiff yet so relieved to be awakened."...I wish I may, I wish I might..."
It began to shift, change, and take form of an earthly being. It couldn't show its true self, otherwise they wouldn't understand...
After it took the form of a simple earth dog, it perked up its ears and gracefully stood, waiting..."...Have the wish I wish tonight." The little girl closed her eyes, held one hand in her other and held her breath, still craning her neck to the star-lit sky. "Please..." she whispered, after silently making her wish.
It closed its eyes and, in the blink of an eye, was moving faster than the light that followed it itself. The seven-year-old opened her gently closed eyes, and laid in her bed. It wasn't much afterwards that she saw a bright light outside that suddenly went away a few seconds later. The little girl gasped. She quickly climbed to her feet, still on her bed, to investigate. The car door shut, and her father walked to the front door. The little girl sighed and went back to trying to sleep. She began to intertwine her own fingers, closed her eyes and whispered, "I just don't wanna be ugly anymore."
The girl's eyes shot open again. This time, it wasn't because of headlights from a car. There was something that was still creating light outside. She nervously climbed to her window again. What was that, in the yard? It seemed to be glowing. Looking around once, the girl unlocked her window, and climbed out. She walked to the shimmering mystery, and smiled when it came close.
"Hello, doggy." She smiled at first, then it faded. "Why are you... Where did you come from?"
It looked up at the sky, which seemed so barren now..."Oh... wishing you were back home, huh?" The girl touched her cheek, then her nose, and her hand dropped. "Don't bother. Wishing never works."
Part II
It tried to imitate a whimper. Although it came out a bit distorted, the little girl didn't seem to notice. It sat down, a bit awkwardly, and stared with sympathetic silver eyes.
"Go ahead, try if you don't believe me." The little girl sat on the grass next to the dog. She huffed and crossed her arms, frustrated. Tears began to form in her eyes.
It laid its head on her leg, and looked up at her. The classic puppy-dog eyes.
"I've wished so many times for--" The girl thought for a moment. "If I tell you, it won't come true..." She put her hand to her face again, rubbing her cheek and nose and forehead. Some of her skin peeled off as she did. "Oh, what does it matter? It never will anyways." She paused. "Mommy says I was born special. She says that I was born different from everyone else, and that being different is good. She says I'm the most beautiful girl she's ever seem." The girl put her hands on the grass, gently moving them back and forth as she talked. When she paused, so did her hands. But then, her hands balled in to fists, and she ripped the grass from the lawn. Tears rolled down her face, and her voice cracked as she began, "But she's just trying to make me feel better. She knows how sad I get when the people at school make fun of me."
It's ears drew backwards and it let out a whine. The race of humanity can be so cruel. So selfish. They'd do anything to make themselves feel better...
Then again, the human race is what kept it alive. It fed off the wishes and beliefs of children, like this one. It had to do something to make this child believe. Otherwise, it might...
The little girl put her hand on the dog's head. She gently stroked its fur. She didn't seem to realize that the glowing dog was abnormal.
But... why? Why was she treating it like it was an everyday thing?
"I hate dreams like this sometimes," the little girl said quietly.
Dream?
"It's nice to get away from my problems, but... But, it's not fair." The little girl looked at the sky, which still seemed barren, then back at the dog's eyes. "Why can't I be beautiful like you?" Her gaze fell to the ground, and it became blurry again with tears.
"I was going to ask you the same thing."
Part III
The little girl quickly jumped to her feet and stepped backwards. She held her breath and stood still, as if it might make a difference.
"You can... you can talk? B-but..." The little girl took a deep breath. "But I'm not pretty. I'm ugly, just like all the other girls say. My duh-sees make my skin red, blotchy, peeling and ugly... It makes me ugly."
"You are not ugly, Jaime," it said.
"How do you know my name?" Jaime asked, her voice quiet and shaky.
"You are only seven years old, and you've done so many beautiful things that a thirty-year-old has never and probably never will do. Each year at Christmas, you give at least two dollars from your own allowance to the Salvation Army." It paused to see if Jaime would interrupt again. She didn't, only stared with wide eyes and shivered. "When your mother got sick last year and had to go to the hospital, you stayed by her side for one whole week, only leaving to go to the bathroom and get food. When your dad lost his job a few months ago, you put your $10 birthday money into his wallet, and said it was from your mom because you knew he wouldn't take it from you." It stood up on all fours and smiled. "Jaime, you are the most beautiful being I had ever seen, inside and out. If you want to see ugly... Well, that's me."
"You? Ugly?" Jaime asked in wonder. "You're the most beautiful doggy I've ever seen. Nothing could ever make you ugly." She looked at the ground. "You're perfect."
It sighed. "I suppose you won't believe me until you see." The figure of the dog was lost in a cloud of pure light. Jaime had to look away and cover her eyes. "You see, Jaime," it began, "the dog was just a... cover-up. It was hiding my true self." The light faded.
And the girl screamed. In front of her stood a big, tall, ugly, "Monster!" she wailed. "Stay away! Who are you?! What do you want?!" Jaime demanded. "Please, don't hurt me! Please, please, please!" she cried, covering her eyes. She sat on the cround and curled up as tight as she could, eyes covered and closed as tight as they could go.
She stayed like that for a long time, crying and rocking, trying to block out the frightful appearance of the... the thing. Then she realized that the thing, the monster that she had been so afraid of, was a beautiful, kind dog only a few moments ago. The monster was the same thing, but it just looked different. It only looked scary. She gasped when she realized what she was doing. She was acting just like the mean girls at school. She was only scared of the appearance, not the way it acted. Her eyes shot open and her head jolted up, wanting to apologize for her mistakes.
But it was gone. And it only left one thing.
A puddle of the most beautiful, most clear and purest of tears.
(( I think I can make one more part. Should I? ))
Yes...please! <3

The victim
The Bysander
The villian...
A worn, old statue stands in the middle of the town square.
A look of terror, shock, bravery and ferociousness is on the dog's face, frozen in time forever.
A small dog pads up slowly to the statue.

A single tear falls from her face, as she stares at the statue solemnly.
"Dad..." she murmurs, a single rose dropping from her mouth.
"I miss you..."
She lays down at the foot of the statue, tears silently pouring from the small girl's eyes.
Another dog approaches.

"Lia..it's time to go home.." The woman won't meet her daughter's eyes.
"Fine. I was just visiting my dad." Lia replies stiffly, skulking ahead while her mother stares at her.
The dog sighs, and slowly lumbers after her daughter.
As soon as Lia gets home, she tears upstairs and slams her bedroom door shut.
She crawls onto her bed and picks up the picture on her nightstand.
A picture of a man, a woman and a small girl smiling stares back at her.
The man, almost glowing with positive energy, seems to light up the entire photo. The woman smiles brightly, eyes glowing cheerfully. The girl looks exuberant, the man's arms wrapped around her protectively.
A single tear falls from the girl's eyes.
"Why couldn't you have done something...." She whispers, glaring at the photo.
...
Downstairs, the woman sighs, preparing a strong cup of coffee.
If only she'd understand...
...
Lia awakes, sprawled on her bed with the picture in her paws.
Her face is stiff with dried tears, and her limbs are stiff from sleeping in an awkward position.
It appears as though her mother has crept in and tucked her in. The girl scoffs in her mind, she can take care of herself perfectly well.
Shaking her head, she creeps out of her bedroom and takes a long, steamy shower to ease her mind...
...
Shall I continue?
(this is a fail..)

Part IV
"...Have the wish I wish tonight," Jaime finished, her hands clenched together and her eyes tightly closed. "Please, please come back. I'm so sorry for what I did." It had been three days since she had first seen it, and she regretted being so frightened. "Please. You're the only thing I know other than my mommy and daddy that accept me. You made me feel better. You made me happy. You made me believe that I am beautiful." She peeked one eye open at the sky, to see of anything was happening. Nothing. She closed it again. "I need you in my life. I need to know that there's someone out there who understands. I'm not a monster. I'm different. Just like you. You're not a monster. You're the most beautiful thing I've ever met, inside and outside." She peeked her eye open again. Nothing. She felt the warm water forming in her eyes. "I hope you can hear me. I want you to know that what I did was wrong. I was acting like the mean people at school. I'm not like them, I promise! I promise you, I'll never do it again. Please, please please... Just come back. Please!" The water was streaming down her face now and as she spoke, she held back sobs. It was useless. She couldn't undo her mistake. She laid down in her bed and continued to cry.
Only moments had passed before the little girl began to sing quietly to herself.
"Twinkle, twinkle, little s-star... How I w-wonder where you are..." Jaime sniffed and tried to calm herself. "Up above the world s-so high... Like a diamond i-in the sky..." Her eyes closed but she finished the song, some words slurring towards the end: "Twinkle, twinkle... Little star... How I wonder where you are..."
Jaime fell into a state somewhere between asleep and awake. She didn't know how long it had been, but sometime after she finished her song, she felt a cool breeze blow through her window.
"Goodbye, Jaime."
She wanted to open her eyes. She knew who it was. But she couldn't. She felt paralyzed.
It placed its earring on Jaime's side table.
"Never forget. You are beautiful."
