Erlox skidded into the professor's room, barely managing not to bump into the trainer that the professor was waving goodbye as she arrived. "Yeah. Erlox," she panted with a sheepish grin. Taking a moment to catch her breath, she moved to the table with three pokeballs layed out upon it at the professor's - Maple, she'd learnt - prompting. Well, what do we have here then? A scorbunny... huh. What's that?

She released the small pokemon as soon as professor Maple gave her the ok to do so. A small, rabbit like pokemon popped out with an excited sounding chirp, small embers spiraling out from its feet. It had already started doing laps around Erlox's legs as soon as it layed eyes on her. She felt a grin worm its way onto her face as she knelt down to pick up the thing. Yeah; this one was hers.

A couple minutes later and they were on the road (or more the route if you were being technical about it). Erlox walked at a leisurely pace while her scorbunny, Polaris as she'd now called her, ran ahead, letting out some excess energy.

Polaris is starting to pick up more speed, you start to get worried about losing her. You call her name and she slows down. "Scor?" The bunny pokemon asks. You explain that you were just worried that she would get lost and you continue down the route, Polaris still faster than you, still, but not way too fast. Soon Polaris stops in her tracks, ears flicking towards something. You approach her position, and see some berry bushes, what's odd, though, is that two berries are on the ground, instead of on the branches of the bush.

Before you could tell her anything else, Polaris bolts to grab the berry, before being hit back by a black and white shape that came swerving from behind the bush. Is there... A pokemon there? Polaris seems more excited than upset and runs to the berries again, she manages to grab one but the berry is grabbed by another pokemon. "Pan pan chaaaam!" The pokemon cries, clearly not wanting to give away it's precious berries. Finally, the pokemon manages to get the berry out of Polaris' hands and put it down behind it. You scan it with your pokedex, it's a Pancham, the playful pokemon.

It's giving both you and Polaris a glare, is it trying to scare you away? It kind of looks cute when it tries to pull an angry face, it seems to be focusing really hard to pull it, smiles keep forming on the sides of it's mouth, but no matter how you try to grab the berries, it keeps knocking your arm out of the way. "Pan!!" It stomps it's foot, not happy with your attempts to take its berries.

A level 2 wild Pancham! It's blocking the berries from your reach, what will you do?

Polaris happily skipped ahead, going slower than before but still outrunning Erlox easilly. She appreciated the scorbunny's gesture anyway. The rabbit-like pokemon's ears perked all of a sudden as she stopped in her tracks. She made her way towards what looked like a berry bush, with a pair of berries settled down by the base of it. As soon as Polaris reached down to grab one though, she was knocked back by a monochrome blur.

"Scor!" Polaris huffed, tapping one of her feet quickly against the ground in irritation. After a brief encounter it was obvious to the trainer and her starter that the small panda wasn't giving up its berries without a fight. "You want to try fighting?" Erlox suggested, crouching down to get a gauge on the scorbunny's reaction. She seemed all for it though if the way her ears perked said anything. "Alright! Use tackle!"

You've been walking for awhile now and it's been quiet... Too quiet. Charlie seems confused too, chirping every once and awhile. You finally decide to sit down. Where are all the pokemon? Where are all the trainers? You have a look in your bag, and aside from your shells and pokeballs, you really don't have anything else. Maybe you should head to the pokemart in the next town, see if they have any food? Just as you were about to call Charlie back over, you notice he's stopped near a bush. "Chimchar?" Your pokemon squeaks, peering into it.

You decide you're curious enough to go over, to check it out, and as you push past the leaves, something pink and blue pops out, running past the two of you. A pokemon?

Charlie starts to chase it, so you decide you should too. You begin to realise that this is the way to the next town, but before you could think too much about it, you spot the pokemon standing between two different paths... Wait... Two paths? One path, the route continues, but the other one leads upwards, and the path is thinner. Charlie starts tugging at a piece of your clothes and you notice that the Hatenna is already making it's way up the unusual path. You look down at Charlie, and he looks back at you, looks like you have a decision to make!
Image
Will you take the route's regular path, or will you take the mysterious thin path and follow the Hatenna?

For now, you won't get your shiny zacian. At least until the owner says it's fine :)

Looking down the path than back at Charlie, I decide and make my way through the brush, keeping the Hatenna in sight, but also being acutely aware of what is around me, Charlie following beside me, stopping every now and then only to hide when the Hatenna turns around.

A rather messy man in a labcoat scrambles through a bin of Pokeballs as you make your request for a starter Pokemon, seemingly unprepared for absolutely anyone to be asking anything of him. As he rummages through, he begins to talk.
"Ah- Uhm, yeah, ah- Welcome! To the wonderful world of Pokemon!" The Porygon by his side seems unamused by the trouble that he's having with finding something, and gently bonks the professor on the head.
"ACK- I'm! I'm the Pokemon Professor of this area, Professor Maple-"
After all the struggling, a Pokeball falls out of the bin and onto the floor from how much the dark-haired professor is rummaging through. With a flash of light, an adorable creature appears, sliding across the floor and bumping into your toes.

Image
"Popp.."

The Pokemon looks up at you with big eyes as the Professor fumbles with the Pokedex that he's now offering you, and a cheery robotic voice chimes out of the little computer.

Party:

Image
Nickname: Kabuki
Gender: Male
Nature:???
Moves: pound/water gun

''Pop-pop!'' said Popplio, clapping it's hands

Professor Maple finished setting up my pokedex and handed it to me.

''Thanks, prof. I'll be sure to discover more pokemon with this cool device'' I said, leaving the building.

A flipper tapped my leg.

''Woah, I almost left without you! Sorry pal, I'm not used to being a pokemon trainer''

Me and Popplio walked towards a woodland area, hoping to find new friends.

''Hey, I just thought of a name for you; Kabuki. What do you think..Kabuki?''

''Pop-pop!'' he said once again as if he was shouting ''That's me!''
