WEATHER !!

NEWLEAF || The sun begins to peek through the leaves as the dark and heavy clouds of Leafbare roll away. Birds begin to trill earlier in the morning, and the hibernating rodents stir from their slumber as they seek out meals to fill their aching bellies. Prey will be easier to catch, and kittings will grow easier on mothers. Cats are less desperate for homes and will be friendlier to patrols. However, with warmer weather comes more danger. Predators are no longer hungry and vicious, but they have full bellies and growing muscle. They lay unseen, waiting to attack. Twolegs sightings grow more common as well, though cats do not know why the strange creatures seem to prefer warmer weather.

death rolls open on BOLDED cats

the cats have a meeting
- rum falls asleep during the meeting. coffee has to slap some caffeine into him
- hourglass expresses his discontent with ascar, and asks if he can instead mentor shell, as she has gained his gift
- church offers to take over ascar's training. coot says sure idc

- angus and pin go out walking in the woods, enjoying the warm sun
- they smell something really good near one of the twoleg's fences. pin says maybe they should go back, but angus says its fiiiiiine.
- bam. uh oh. they've walked right into a trap!!! dun dun duuuuuun. they're in cages, with twolegs carrying them into the belly of a den. the world goes black.
- when they wake up, pin and angus are back in the woods. but both of them feel something missing inside. new bottom surgery just dropped. they're now sterile.

to catch another lizard, doesn't see where she puts her paws and ends up
cutting open her paw pad after stepping on broken glass. After finishing the
patrol, she decides to ask Amber about her paw due to a dull, throbbing
sensation in it. Amber tells Zoe it became infected and she will need 2 moons
of rest and x1 cobweb and x1 poppy seed.

In only a moon, 3 of Butterflynose’s 4 kits would be apprenticed, leaving Quailkit behind. Although Butterflynose felt relieved by this, sadness also dwelled inside of her, knowing her children wouldn’t need her anymore. Butterflynose watched Lilykit’s soft body slam into Dahliakit, who was a little smaller than her “hey!!” He whined, looking for his mothers help, Butterflynose rolled her eyes at her kit “toughen up, you’ll be a warrior soon” she reminded him. Dahliakit immediately shook Lilykit off of him and strutted away.

𝐋𝐚𝐳𝐮𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐠:
Topazkit played alone just outside of the nursery, his previously tiny body now widening as he grew. Lazulisong couldn’t help but stare at her only kit, he wouldn’t be so small for much longer. A warm purr soon approached her, and Lazulisong turned to see Coffeebean, the two cats touched noses for a brief moment and it seemed Coffeebean also had the problem of excessively staring at others. His golden eyes met Lazulisong’s and they didn’t break away, Coffeebean didn’t say anything, but after a few seconds he trotted towards Topazkit to play.

Northstar happily welcomes the cat she met during patrol into her clan. The molly claims to be able to see the future and that’s something North highly values. However, she quickly loses interest when Lady Fortune tells her that she will live a long and happy life as long as she spends at least an hour each day hugging trees and introduces herbs into her diet. At least the new warrior is competent, but of course he has to be a weirdo too and thinks that frogs are friends, not food.

Northstar comes over for a chat with Owl. She watches the kittens play and Bacup destroying a branch in the background. They talk for a while then North says her goodbyes as she needs to do her duty of training the next deputy. Bacup overhears her and runs up to her. “What do you want?”, she snaps at him. His young, innocent and pure face is brightened by a smile. “I’m ready for the training, miss North.”, he says politely. She lowers her head and leans over him, making him lean back. “When are you going to take the hint? You have no chance of being my deputy. You should have realized it weeks ago. You’re no use to me. You should be grateful that you’re still alive. Now get out of my sight.” Northstar turns around and walks away, her tail swooshing angrily. Bacup, who has been leaning so far back he started backing away after each of her words now straightens up. He looks around to see if anyone’s seen this display, but the area is empty. He starts to feel very alone. An orphan, unwanted and abandoned yet again. He runs away as tears start to well up in his eyes.

Swoop of a Snow Owl notices Seashell taking shy peeks at the nursery. She approaches her and asks if she’d like to meet the kittens. Sea does not have it in her to get any closer to them. She’s desperate to talk to someone about the tragedy she’s been through and finds Owl to be a kind soul and starts pouring out her feelings. She wants to have kits, it’s her dream, she has a heart full of love and noone to give it to. However, she’s unsure of whether she’s ready for another litter, having just lost her kittens and mate. She’s afraid it might happen again.

Owl talks to her in her calm, soothing voice and makes her feel better and less guilty for still wanting to have a family so soon after having lost one. Sea decides to take things slowly and thanks the other Maid for listening to her. She ends up leaving without meeting Thornblaze’s kits because looking at them is too painful for her.

Kits are seeing and walking and ready to take over the world.

Amber makes a space in her Sylph’s cart for Zoe and places her comfortably to rest there. She’s afraid of messing something up with the healing, but decides that cobwebs and poppy seeds will be the best remedy. They’re unique enough and shouldn’t hurt her. Right? She watches Zoe all night with her heart racing. When the she-cat starts feeling better he goes and hides underneath the cart. Jinx visits her older sister bringing her something to eat. When she’s ready to leave to go on a hunting patrol, Zoe tries to follow her. Her paws ache too much to stand so she’s crawling. Jinx calls her a madwoman. They argue for a while and Jinx decides to skip patrol and stay with her sister to take care of her and mostly to stop her from doing anything ridiculous.

Gentleman takes an interest in Lady Fortune.

season: newleaf / spring
at last, the thaw has come. flower buds replace snowdrifts, and the land is freed from frost.
clan can expect to find more prey, more herbs, and more cats looking for a home. however,
predators have started coming out of hiding as well, and may pose extra threats in the nice
weather; beware to those who try to challenge them.

• i recommend noting if there are any cats that you'd prefer be skipped over in the case of death rolls/injuries

TUNDRACLAN ▬ selkirks

request results
• an apprentice-aged cat has been sent to join tundraclan.
indent↪ the apprentice is a "solid black longhair with yellow eyes," colored by me on kaebedo's lines. here is their starting geno: ll, Xo-, B-, aa, D-, C-, ww

hunting results
• duckleap's patrol caught x1 harlequin duck, x1 stoat, and x1 tundra vole. however, mapledrop scratched her shoulder while chasing prey, and she'll need x1 moon of rest to heal.
• emberleap's patrol caught x1 hare and x1 common raven. however, rogues attacked the patrol and, in the middle of the fight, the rogues stole x1 hare from the hunting patrol. by the time the tundraclan cats managed to chase off the rogues, they bore signs of the attack, with blazefury bleeding from a cut above his eye and flashsun bearing the several scratches. blazefury will need x1 moon of rest and flashsun will need to be treated x1 cobweb, x1 marigold, and x1 moon of rest.
• silksky's patrol caught x1 lemming, x1 tundra shrew, x1 common raven, and x1 lemming. however, as with emberleap's patrol, the rogues attacked and stole x1 lemming and x1 tundra shrew. thankfully, however, the patrol managed to chase the rogues away before any of their own cats were too seriously injured.

border patrol results
• cedarshade's patrol starts off rather uneventfully, and the cats comment on the peace of quiet around them. however, blazefang is the first to feel as though the patrol is being followed, and he alerts the others to the incoming threat just as the rogues descend on the patrol. while the clan cats struggle to regroup, blazefang fights side-by-side with eiderpuddle, helping the younger tom shake off a skinny rogue. however, in the fight, he sustains many severe injuries in his efforts to protect his clanmates, and, by the end of the battle, blazefang's patrol-mates are horrified as they watch blazefang collapse, unable to support his own weight. quickly, they rush blazefang back to camp, but the healers conclude that, unfortunately, there is little they can do other than gather duke and peppermintpaw to say their good-byes before blazefang passes away, succumbing to his injuries.
• terrabite's patrol found an adult-aged cat sniffing along a trail, completely oblivious to the approaching clan cats. when terrabite announced the patrol's presence, the cat barely hesitated before asking for their help in tracking down a fox that they scented. terrabite and the patrol immediately fall into formation, more preoccupied with tracking down a fox and eliminating a predator over interrogating the cat. however, as the afternoon passes, the patrol is able to, thankfully, determine that the scent if rather stale. still, they thank the stranger for calling their attention to the scent and ask if they would like to jon tundraclan.

herb hunting results
• the group gathered x2 cobwebs, x1 marigold, x1 raspberry leaves, x1 mallow leaves, and x1 willow leaves. however, the patrol felt eyes watching from the distance and were prepared for when the rogues attacked. thankfully, the healers were properly protected and the tundraclan cats made it back home with only minor scratches. however, the rogues did manage to steal x1 willow leaves.

training results
• hauntpaw passed and climbing. however, she wrentched a claw while climbing a tree and will require x1 moon of rest to heal properly.
• citruspaw, peppermintpaw, and bowpaw failed to learn a new skill this moon. but they can try again next moon!
• the rest of the apprentices passed and learned their respective skills without incident.

• whitebelly enountered an adult-aged cat while patrol. while whitebelly was busy patroling the borders, he felt a presence following him, and it took him several moments to notice the sleek black cat with yellow eyes staring out from the shadows. when whitebelly called out to the stranger, however, they seemed rather friendly, asking whitebelly what he was doing. as whitebelly began to explain his duties patroling the border, he noticed the cat's eyes widen with curiosity, and whitebelly decided to bring the cat back to meet eclipselight.
