Do not copy-paste these genetics for your own species, a lot of the markings are modified to fit this breed.

Beaumont Collie Genetics V.2 - An Overview

Postby Vinson » Thu Mar 17, 2022 5:00 am

Genotype Format

A locus/B locus/C locus/D locus/E locus/H locus/I locus/K locus/M locus/S locus/T locus/U locus/L locus

Breeding Caps
Collies with at least one of the following alleles, regardless of expression, may have a max of two pups per litter.
A Locus: aw+ or a+, ab
K Locus: Kbx, kc, kvi
T Locus: Tr
Stained and bleached markings have a 15% chance of passing.
Raposa/tephra has a 15% chance of passing.
Blixt has a 50% chance of visibly passing if KbxKbx is rolled for.

Blixt
Blixt, KbxKbx, has a 50/50 possibility of showing blixt. Kbx_ collies will be dominant black.
Merle hides blixt - a collie with KbxKbx and any merle combination other than 'mm' will be dominant black
unless the harlequin gene is also present (Hh or Hsh).

Beaumont Collie Genetics V.2 - Miscellaneous

Postby Vinson » Thu Mar 17, 2022 5:37 am

Miscellaneous Combinations/Modifiers Explained

      Chinchilla and Pearl

➛ Chinchilla is visible when one of these genetic combinations occurs
      (atat / atat+ / ata) EchEch kyky

➛ Reverse Chinchilla is visible when one of these genetic combinations occurs
      (at+at+ / at+a) EchEch kyky

➛ Pearl is visible when one of these genetic combinations occurs
      (atat / atat+ / ata) epheph kyky

➛ Reverse Pearl is visible when one of these genetic combinations occurs
      (at+at+ / at+a) epheph kyky

➛ Mosaic Chinchilla coats occur when Ech and eph combine, and may be regular or reverse
depending on the A locus genes
      (atat / atat+ / ata // at+at+ / at+a) Echeph kyky

      ___________________________________________________________________________________________

      Raposa/Tephra

➛ Raposa and Tephra are caused by a modification to the agouti gene, denoted with a '+'.
Raposa is awaw+, Tephra is awa+

➛ Raposa and Tephra require both masking and A locus expression to be visible

➛ Both modifiers pass at a 15% rate to offspring, and may be carried if combination requirements
are not met (example awaw+ EE = agouti, carrying the raposa/tephra modifier)

      ___________________________________________________________________________________________

      Stained

➛ Stained causes a collie's white pigment to turn black, and is denoted by a '+' at the end of the H locus, S locus,
Emg on the E locus, or kg on the K locus

➛ Stained Harlequin is Hh+ or Hsh+, and requires a merle

➛ Stained Glass Mask is Emg+ ; stained will not affect any other E locus markings

➛ Stained Glass Brindle is kg+ ; stained will not affect any other K locus markings

➛ Stained White is any combination of S locus alleles with '+' at the end, such as sisi+ (Stained Irish White)
or stst+ (Stained Striped White). the Stained modifier '+' is not attached to any specific gene on the S locus,
and will affect any white markings a puppy has if it rolls to pass in a breeding

➛ Stained passes at a 15% rate to offspring, and may be carried if a collie does not have visible white markings
for it to modify (example SS+, Kbkg+)

      ___________________________________________________________________________________________

      Bleached

➛ Bleached causes a collie's pigment to be bleached to a white or light gray color, and is denoted by a '-' at the end of
      the A, E, H, K, or S locus

➛ Intensity is determined by the artist, and may be minimal to extreme. When combined with stained
at the same locus, it bleaches the stained markings to a dusty charcoal

➛ When affecting white markings (at the H or S locus), it causes a ghost-like, faded glow around the edges of the markings

➛ Bleached passes at a 15% rate to offspring, and may be carried if a collie does not have visible markings
for it to modify (example EchEm-, SS-)

      ___________________________________________________________________________________________

      Seal and Ghost

➛ Seal and ghost markings are caused by a faulty Kb allele and result in a darker, partial expression of the collie's other markings.
This is due to the faulty Kb only partially inhibiting the production of red pigment

➛ Kbky + any A locus containing an Ay allele is seal, Kbky + any A locus not containing an Ay allele is ghost

➛ Seal/ghost brindles are also possible (Kbkbr, Kbkc, Kbkvi, Kbkg), but it is not compatible with marbled king

      ➛ Kbxky will not create a seal/ghost

➛ Seal and ghost is not guaranteed to pass to offspring, as the expression of these markings is dependent on
the functionality of the Kb allele, not its presence alone
