“Got you!” Squealed Lilykit, pouncing onto her brother, “that’s not fair! I wasn’t paying attention” he whined, turning to Butterflynose, hoping she would back him up. “Settle down honey, it’s only a game.” Butterflynose spoke, softening her gaze a small the small kit. Dahliakit huffed and stormed away, that kit! Butterflynose thought to herself for a brief moment. She glanced at Lilykit, who was tumbling with a leaf, completely unbothered about anything, when Butterflynose looked back at where Dahliakit was sulking, she saw the ginger tom wasn’t there. “Dahliakit!” She called, sticking her head out of the nursery, she scanned camp for a few seconds before spotting him, trotting towards the exit. Butterflynose dashed after him, dirt getting kicked up behind her, Dahliakit was quickly scooped up by Basilfoot, before Butterflynose managed to reach him. Basilfoot shot Butterflynose an apologetic look, quickly setting the kit back down “I’m so sorry! I didn’t see you!” He explained, staring at his paws. It seemed he was always apologising for things, afraid of getting in trouble. Butterflynose nodded at him, smiling before nudging her kit back towards the nursery. “Now you stay here, and don’t even think about leaving, I’m getting your father.” Butterflynose told Dahliakit. After a short minute she returned with Mousepelt, the large grey tom stepped towards his son and crouched down to his level “You best behave for your mother or I’ll feed you to a fox!” Butterflynose gasped and looked at her mate, “Mousepelt! You can’t say that!” She complained, knowing he was only joking, but worrying about how her son felt. Dahliakit had already wondered away to his sister “I’m the fox and I’ll eat you!” She shouted, mocking what her father had said.

--Arrowspark's journey. He escaped a rogue group who held him hostage due to issues with his brother, whom abandoned him and left him. Safety in numbers is what Arrowspark is after, hoping to abandon his past for good, though the dreams keep haunting him...
--Heatherdust, also new to the warrior den, ends up in a nest near Arrowspark. She confronts him after a couple of nights, hoping to help him cope and sleep restfully through the night without bad dreams. The pair end up talking for hours each night, out away from the crowded warrior's den.
--Cirruspatch and Blizzardbird talk with Cyclonespark and Thundercloud about family. Blizzard and Cyclone reminisce their short time spent with Gustheart, the mood solemn as Cirruspatch also remembers fond memories with his mom. Each vow to be supportive parents always, to protect their kits no matter what. This is further fueled by Stormpaw's anxieties about ever being able to pass his apprenticeship, feeling stuck in his training and unable to master tracking. Cirruspatch and Stormpaw spend a lot of time together, the older tom giving Stormpaw great advice about resilience.
--Darkfever is running its course thoroughly through the clan, and many cats wonder if they will ever be safe from the disease. But, somewhere in the forest, the flowers emerge, giving Tawnyfire hope even after she mourns the loss of her father. He was overbearing, but she misses him nontheless, confiding in Polarbear and her kits.

The first thing Dawnstar noticed was that her body was splayed halfway out of a pool of water. The second thing that she noticed was that the water was warm.
Her eyes creaked open to see snowflakes blowing in through a tiny opening in the wall- a snowdrift. Garnering the strength to shift her head (god, did her head hurt), she saw stone walls. An absolutely massive icicle dropped from the ceiling and fell into the pond behind her with a ker-SPLASH.
It didn’t make any sense, why would the cave be so hot? Last thing Dawnstar remembered, it was the middle of Winter, and there was a-
The last thing Dawnstar remembered-
The last thing-
Dawnstar couldn’t remember.
She felt her raw paw pads scrabble against the rough stone as she drew herself painfully to her paws. Yes, now that she was on her feet, she could feel her strength returning.
Surely her memories would come back soon, too.
They’d probably be back any minute now.
Yes, any second now, her memories-

(Crack. Crack. K-CHUNK- )
Sheer noise filled the cat’s ears, then nothing, and it felt like the entire world had stopped for a moment. For that moment, time had no reign, and the orange cat didn’t need to worry about anything- not even moving.
Then, the moment was rudely interrupted by what felt like fifty icicles being shoved down her throat. Water was filling her lungs. When she opened her eyes, all the cat could see were the faintest sparkles of light glinting off some shards of ice, which were neither up nor down.
Then, the freezing temperature seemed to simply shut down her vision on its own.
There was a face in front of her.
Brownish-gray. Wispy fur. And yellow eyes that seemed to bare the orange cat’s very soul before the stranger.
The stranger grinned.
“You! You, yes you! My name is Fallowflight,” the stranger began rapidly. “And your name is-” They frowned. “Your name is… Dawnstar! Dawnstar, with what life still remains in my bones, I grant you all the time you’ll need to- to lead, and-”
Fallowflight faltered, almost appearing scared. They seemed to be floating away from Dawnstar, into the darkness.
“Oh, there’s no dying now, you need to stay-” Fallowflight sharply pushed his nose against Dawnstar’s forehead, and she blacked out completely.

And that was all.
Dawnstar shook her head. Her fur was still damp from when she… drowned?
What does she even do now? Is she technically a zombie? What kind of a name is Fallowflight? Why is the ice in this cave, in the middle of a frozen tundra, in Winter melting!?
She needed time to think. All the hot air made her head feel stuffy.
Unfortunately, there was no way she could go outside. Not when her fur was still so wet, and she could feel the chill of the outside against her whiskers. Dawnstar had no idea what she was supposed to do, but she did know that she didn't want to become a catsicle.

When Dawnstar went to sleep that night, she dreamt of a land filled with life. Two warriors shared a mouse together. A mother curled around her kits, protecting them from the cold. A medicine cat pressed herbs into a bleeding cat's wounds with a determined expression. A leader pressed their nose to the forehead of a younger adult cat, and an exuberant crowd yowled in excitement.

What a strange dream.

[Dawnstar drowns in the Moonpool. A StarClan cat grants her nine lives before she can die. According to PEMDAS, Dawnstar has eight lives remaining.]

Summary: Nothing happens again, cats are bored this leafbare. Dappledawn seems relieved because no one has telltale signs of greencough. Arrowthroat, Fernthroat, Piperthroat, and Claypool decide to tell scary stories to everyone in Clan one night, and it now becomes a contest among the apprentices and younger warriors - who can tell the scariest stories?

Meanwhile, Privetpaw feels the blues while recovering in the medicine cats' den. Mistyriver, her mother, and Dukewing, her brother, come to cheer her up, and the two get permission from the medicine cats to stay a few nights with her.

Eagleflower and Pinefoot discuss the mysterious stranger who dropped the bundle of prey at their feet, and come to the same conclusion: that they were a StarClan spirit who wanted to help their descendants to pull through this leafbare.

the clan is disturbed by Bloodymary's entrance, which is quite brief; quickly noticing that the kits are Pyrrhus's. Despite the curious looks, he drops the kits off with Ravenus, requesting politely if she could take care of them. seems as if she's going to say no, but she does.

clan praises dex, especially those on the patrol who saw the male come back with several items as they caught nothing; until oakling pops up with a statement that they found two catfish and two perch, dead in the stream. typhoon suggests they take it and have imbe check it over.

WEATHER !!

NEWLEAF || The sun begins to peek through the leaves as the dark and heavy clouds of Leafbare roll away. Birds begin to trill earlier in the morning, and the hibernating rodents stir from their slumber as they seek out meals to fill their aching bellies. Prey will be easier to catch, and kittings will grow easier on mothers. Cats are less desperate for homes and will be friendlier to patrols. However, with warmer weather comes more danger. Predators are no longer hungry and vicious, but they have full bellies and growing muscle. They lay unseen, waiting to attack. Twolegs sightings grow more common as well, though cats do not know why the strange creatures seem to prefer warmer weather.
