When Morgan glanced around, she realized that some people had their luggage and others did not. Of course, she was one of the unfortunate ones that was stuck dragging her bags up with her. At this point in time, the poor girl could only cross her fingers and hope that nobody was filming this; how utterly embarrassing would that be! On the other hand, though, the weather was cooler than what Morgan was used to, so by the time she managed to pull herself up the stairs, she was confident in saying that her face hadn’t turned a similar shade to a tomato’s skin. If she hadn’t rushed over to the girl in white so quickly, she very possibly would’ve found herself sitting on her rose-gold luggage bag to support her legs. Although she was indeed a bit out of breath, even a few seconds after, she didn’t feel like awfully terrible. As soon as she got some water when she had a second, she’d be okay. Hopefully the backyard is on the same level as the house. The stairs were gorgeous to look at, but ungodly when it came to climbing up them. Her little legs couldn’t handle it more than once.

Her hair was up in a bun, with only a few thin strands of hairs curled around her face to properly frame it. She did, however, brush the baby hairs against the back of her neck, the ones that failed to stay in the bun. She wasn’t sweaty. Thank goodness for that. Peering more closely at the brown-haired girl, Morgan could tell she hadn’t even broken into a sweat. It went along with her assumption that she was possibly a runner. Or, at the very least, had some experience in athletics of some sort. Morgan herself wasn’t a big fan of that. She enjoyed the occasional nature walk, but she was certainly more of a lounger than anything else. Her thin, delicate frame surely confirmed that; she had very little muscle on her person. She hadn’t had the chance to peer around her, but she wondered how much of a variety this show lured in. Were they all successful in some sort of way? Were any of them unemployed with a degree, like herself? Getting started in an arts-based occupation was a challenge, and since Morgan had applied for this show just before graduating, she had yet to thoroughly look for work. Did that make her less suitable, less qualified? Surely her personality would make up for it, right?

The girl with tawny-brown hair who just addressed Morgan was taller than her, by at least five inches or so, but it didn’t feel intimidating. In all fairness, though, Morgan didn’t often feel intimidated by people. Besides, this one in particular wore a bright smile across her features, and Morgan knew she’d like her vibe. In return, Morgan smiled, her dimples highlighting the expression as she connected eyes with the girl. She gave a nod, her thin, silver waterfall earrings dangling against the side of her neck from the action. “I am,” she confirmed, letting her arms lift out by her sides a bit, as if presenting something, which, in her case, would be herself. “Sorry, I don’t know why I asked you that. Your bags are literally right beside you.” She put a palm to her forehead with a smiling laugh, then allowed her hands to clasp behind her back. “And thank you! I made sure to do some shopping before I came here. It’s incredible, the things you can find when you go thrifting.” With two successful parents, Morgan could easily shop at designer-brand stores if she so pleased, assuming she had the right to use their money. She liked thrifting, though; the thrills of it were exuberating.

She raised her arms a moment later, slipping her fingers under her chin to show off her facial features a bit more prominently. “Green eyes for the win,” she chirped. “Although I haven’t found an eyeshadow colour that I love, so if you have any recommendations, do let me know.” She allowed her eyes to linger on Brenna yet again, and the dimpled smile returned. “I think I’m going to like you, Brenna,” she said, then put her index finger up as she corrected herself, “No, I do like you.” She paused for a fleeting second, allowing the delightful summer air to wrap itself around the both of them, then nodded her head towards the outstanding mansion. “Is there an agenda for today, do you know? Or are we just supposed to… be here? I guess I should've done a thorough search or something, I was just too eager to get going to check!”

Devin James Williams/male/22 years old/Tags: Open/Location: Outside of house/Pansexual
Devin started out of his window of the cab, his mind blank. He had an absent minded look on his face as he looked out of it. As the car sped down the road, all the trees passed were like green and brown blobs. He was nervous for these games and honestly he was really on edge about these games, but Brenna had begged him to come along with her to these games. As much as he was nervous, he was rather excited. It would definitely be a step out of his comfort zone, but he knew it would be for the best. Hey you know it might be even fun to do. Devin sighed and looked out the window trying to make out any of the blobs clearly as they sped down the street. He blinked his eyes slightly and looked to his sister who was staring at her own reflection in the window. She was so beautiful just like their mother. Soft wavy brown hair with her tannish skin and her beautiful face, she was a spitting image of their mother. He wished she thought she was pretty, but she didn't, which hurt Devin’s heart. The young male himself had a fade starting from his ears and going to the brown hair on the top of his head. The hair on the top of his head was fluffed up today. Sometimes you would see it pretty well kept, but today he left it like he did when he rolled out of bed. Devin had blue/gray eyes that were soft and he has been told comforting to look at.

Devin faintly heard his sister say something, but was too busy looking out of the fogged up window. His sister’s side with her window was picture perfect clear, but his was all fogged up. Maybe that’s why everything was blobby and a blur, or it could be how fast they were traveling. He wanted to make a statement to the driver about proper driving, but resisted the urge. He said it in his head though, “You do know there is a legal speed limit everyone follows and that you clearly are not following it. Also a very interesting driving style, really will suit you when you get a ticket.” Judging by the cab driver’s body language, he wasn’t in a good mood. He looked over to Brenna as the car came to a screeching halt. He was in awe of the place, but he shook his head to clear his mind as it went blank for a second staring into the beauty of the house. He got out of his side seeing the car door dented from the outside. The yellow paint of the car had started to peel and the black stripes on the side were peeling too. He looked over to see Brenna running over to the trunk to get their luggage and seeing as he had to pay the driver, he went over to the window and knocked on it. He said to the driver as the window went down, “Here’s the cash, thanks for driving us.” He saw the cab driver nod and he walked over to Brenna to collect his luggage.

As he walked up the first flight of stairs, he noticed Brenna staring in awe everywhere taking in her surroundings. He slowed his walk to get a good look of everything. The first flight of stairs were surrounded with ivy on the bricks and starting with the railing. He saw the lights underneath on the other side of the pool that looked like it had a waterfall. Everything was so grand and beautiful, something Devin was not used to. It was a little overwhelming to see this place from the start and it was definitely a daunting place to look at. The house looked huge and so elegant from the outside. Lights were coming from the house, but they were faint as it was daytime and the sun was pouring in. It made the roof of the house shimmer and shine and it was hurting the young man’s eyes as he looked up at it. There was a pool in the center before the second flight of stairs leading up to the grand entrance of the house. It had fountains spewing water into the pool and it had lights as well. Gazebos were located on either side of the pool, two of them and there were tables and chairs located by the pool so people could sit and enjoy the day near the pool. He saw out of the corner of his eye his sister go out the second flight of stairs leaving him in her dust. He shrugged and slowly continued up the stairs to keep taking in the sights. Everything was so beautiful. The trees surrounding the property, the flowers when you first go up the stairs that you can see if you look past the railing, the luxurious house that was before him and the pool looked very well kept. He loved everything about this place. Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad after all.

As he approached the second stair flight with his luggage behind him, he looked around seeing many people mingling with each other. He could see his own sister socializing with a pretty girl. She had a dress on (a lilac one on with flowers on it as the pattern). She had brown hair like her sister and the sun hit her eyes just right so that he could see she had green eyes. His sister’s plain white dress was flowing lightly in the breeze and he tore his gaze away from them both happy his sister was already meeting someone new. Devin stuck back a little ways not going up the flight of stairs just yet. He noticed a boy approaching him. The young male looked to be a little younger than he was. He had brown hair and green eyes. Man it seemed like a lot of people had green eyes here. His sister did, the woman that Brenna was talking to seemed to have green eyes and this boy approaching him had green eyes as well. He had little flecks of golden brown in them and his hair went down brushing his shoulders just a tad. He noticed one thing about the boy, he towered over him. He was short and it made Devin feel a sense of pity for him. He must be intimidating at his 6’1” height. The young boy stammered just slightly as he introduced himself. He held out a hand to the young male and said, “Nice to meet you Sage, my name is Devin Williams. People call me Devin or Dev. I assume you're a contestant here based on you being here?”

𝐁𝐑𝐈𝐀𝐑 𝐌Ä𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐍
───────────────────────── . 25 . he/him . loc; staircase . tags; kassandra, aaron─────────────────────────

A smug-like smile was slowly beginning to creep up onto Briar’s features as Kassandra went on – cheeky, although, hopefully, not egotistical. Something told him that Kass wouldn’t take it that way, although perhaps that was simply given the way she was carrying herself. “I know,” he shot back smoothly. “And I would.” In reality, though, Briar suspected he wouldn’t ever consider a place this size to be home. A house, yes, but a home? It would be fun for the first little bit, but it was a lot to handle. For Briar, he’d be most happy with a nice, small house; as long as it had the essentials, he’d be happy.

He let his eyes properly settle on her again, temporarily satisfied with how he was able to soak in his surroundings. “Where’re you from?” he asked, genuinely curious. Right off the bat, he’d suspect somewhere like New York. She had a preppy aura to her; he wouldn’t be surprised if she came from a busy area. While Briar wasn’t a professional when it came to reading expressions, he had been around enough younger students to get an idea of who was severely overwhelmed when entering a room and who wasn’t, and Kassandra didn’t show any signs of distress.

He took a few smaller steps towards the spiraling staircase, letting his gaze skim over the hardwood steps. Her bags were unusually light, although he supposed if she hadn’t packed much more than clothes then there was nothing significant that would weigh them down. He was used to hockey bags, too; even though he was a figure skater, his younger sister played hockey, and for whatever reason, it was often Briar who was stuck carrying the bag. “I guess we’ll find out soon enough,” he grinned. “We’ll figure it out eventually. I don’t doubt they make a ton of money from this show; everyone loves dramatic reality shows. ’Course they can afford this all.” He let his eyes catch hers, and held it. They were pretty; bright blue, like the ocean. Or the water out front. “No problem at all,” he insisted, and he said it earnestly. It was more than just attempting to show off; Briar genuinely didn’t have an issue with them whatsoever. If he had, in all fairness, he wouldn’t have offered in the first place.

Before he could drift closer to the stairs, a new voice sounded from behind him, and he didn’t have to turn his head to know the voice was addressing him and Kassandra. He only looked when he sensed a figure close by. “Hey, man,” he greeted the newcomer, tilting his head up slightly before reaching out to fist-bump him. “Good to meet you. I’m Briar, and like the lovely lady said, feel free to come along for the journey.” He found it the slightest bit odd that his bags had been taken the second he stepped out of the car, but perhaps it was because the Uber he had decided to take was in business with the show itself; he preferred it over the cars that were connected to the airport.

He swept his free arm out, shuffling closer to the railing. “Ladies first,” he offered, waiting until Kass had slipped past him before turning towards the stairs. He pulled himself up by securing his hand around the base of the brass-coloured rail, then lifted his occupied arm so that the bags wouldn’t clunk against the edge of the steps. The last thing he needed to do was damage the place five minutes in.

Kassandra DeMarks | 23 | Tagging: Briar, Aaron

"Initially, Phoenix, Arizona. LOVE the culture and history there, and it’s beautiful, if not swelteringly hot. Moved out to Vancouver Island to be closer to the water and some family when I was ten years old." Kass had seen surprise before when she told people she was from a smaller community, but it never bothered her. It had always meant she could be the life of the party just a little bit more than if it were crowded. In a party full of actors and models, she’d be one of the more modest ones who melted into the background, and that wasn’t her style.

"Oh that's the truth! Folks simply eat up stuff like this. They probably make a few hundred million a season!" Okay, perhaps an exaggeration, but from the expenses of house upkeep, and paying staff, she didn’t doubt they’d need a lot of money to cover all their expenses year-round. Despite knowing they'd be on camera most of the time might be nerve-wracking to some people, but for Kass, it was just a game. It was fun! It was a chance to show off.

"Why thank you." Kass winked at Briar before slipping past him and up the first few stairs. Alright. Day one and already off to a good start. Kass could live with that! From what she could gather, at the very least she’d made a half decent impression, and first impressions were often both the hardest and the most important. "What of yourselves? Where did you come from? Any particular reason for choosing to apply to the game?"

Aaron bit his cheek to stop himself from gawking when Kassandra turned to face him, she was absolutely gorgeous. He wondered if she had modeled before or was interested in doing so, she certainly had the looks for it - though, everyone here deserved to be in the modeling business apart from himself. Aaron would reserve himself to the photographer he felt more comfortable behind the camera instead of infront of it. He hoped that being here would break him out of his shell and based on first glances at everyone, that might not be much of a problem. He nodded and gave her a gentle squeeze as they shook hands, “It’s nice to meet you, Kass.” He replied, a smile present on his face. Kass’ observation would be correct, he was looking to ditch his bags. “Mhm. Plus, I would like to get first dibs on a bed.”

When the handshake ended he flipped his hand around to bump fists with Briar, “It’s good to meet you as well.” Aaron said as he gave Briar a short nod of his head, “And I certainly won’t pass up that offer.”
Aaron passed his bags over his body to switch arms, his left arm was getting tired. He would lag behind for a moment to give the two of them space before following them up the stairs. This place was too good to be true, he looked past Kassandra and Briar for a moment to look at the hallways, the lights were dimmed so it was hard to get a good look at everything from the bottom of the stairs but he was enjoying the atmosphere of the house. Kass’ question snapped him out of his thoughts. “I was born in Tacoma, Washington but now I live in New York - I do travel a lot for work so I’m not there much, if I’m honest.” He paused for a moment to consider how to answer her second question. His friend signed him up detailing how, ‘Aaron needs to get out more and find someone.’ but upon further consideration he didn’t think the show would be that bad of an idea.

“Uh, well, I’ve been told by my friends that I don’t get out much… So I decided to try something new.” He answered. It certainly was new, not everyone’s definition of getting out more was to go on live television but he wouldn’t be the last person to do so. Once the group made it up the stairs, he moved himself so he was parallel with the two of them. Now that he got a better look at the hall, he needed to see the rest of the place, first stop: the bedroom.

Nova glanced over at Kaz as she listened to him speaking, his nervous attempts at conversations making her smile slightly. "Not to worry, I think we are all definitely new to this sort of thing. I might need help because two bags is definitely a bit much for me, I will admit. Not normally but I did have boxing one day ago and it still really hurt" Nova explained, grinning over at the man who stood not too far from her.

Jessikka Roberts- f- 22 y- pan; Kass and Briar maybe, definitely Luciano eventually- dad x mom: 4 siblings- Shepadoodle service dog Mayu- volunteers at animal rescue- allergies: cats, Penicillin, Amoxicillin, Bactrim, eggs- skills: animal attraction, kids like her, singing, art, writing, swimming, running (but has problem with chest)- Tags: Luciano

The brown eyed redhead nodded and said "Yeah, I know some people just don't want their dogs pet. Some dogs are agressive too...Not that you'd know it just by looking at them. Unless they're legitimately snarling and showing teeth. That doesn't always been agressive, sometimes that's fear aggression. They feel like they have to scare the thing scaring them. Which if you ask me is really sad. Okay, so...I liked to pet dogs as a kid, but my parents taught me to ask first. They also told me to just leave it if I was told no. As well as the fact they told me about service dogs and the harnesses, so I'd avoid those all on my own. Now that I have one of my own, i can see the frustration. Not all kids would leave those people and dogs alone."

She then nodded and smiled at the other contestant. "I will tell you if I need anything, after the fact; count on it," she chuckled. She was taken aback by someone else suddenly speaking to them..Not annoyed but definitely taken aback. She nodded to the other girl, but then Luciano introduced himself and her. She nodded along as Luciano said her name too. "Yes, I'm...Jessikka, Jessikka Roberts. This is my service dog Mayu," she said of the dog, hoping Emma wasn't allergic or afraid of them.

Sage Ether Reems- m- 20y- homo; possibly Devin- dad x mom: twin sister, younger sister and brother- law and medical majors- allergies: peanut butter, bee stings- special skills: swimming, running, animal attraction, tree climbing- cat Maggi at home- Tags: Devin

The pretty brown haired boy had seen the pool along the way. It was a grand and beautiful pool, like all the things here seemed to be. The shorter and slender one had seen the lights. Maybe used for if anyone wanted a nighttime swim. He didn't even know of that was allowed. He shook his head and made a small sound. The house itself was large and beautiful as well. It truly seemed everything here was. He'd be able to see the pool again if he came down far enough. Well, he'd have to go back out the entrance. He'd seen the pool, the gazebos, the chairs, all of it already. He honestly really wanted to go look again, though. He'd seen trees, maybe a garden, and he actually liked flowers. He was sad his cat couldn't be here...He had plenty of pictures, however.

He shook his head, making himself focus on other things now. Such as the taller brown haired boy before him. Said boy had a fade from his ears up to the hair atop his head. The hair up there seemed to be fluffed. Sage also noticed the blue/gray eyes, eyes he might get lost in...He shook his head, scolding himself silently. He tore golden brown flecked green eyes away from those eyes. He wasn't going to stare, and embarrass himself. Instead, he pushed at his own hair a bit. Maybe Devin would be intimidating, but he didn't seem mean. In fact, his eyes had seemed so soft. He blinked as he snapped out of it, seeing the hand. He smiled and took it, saying "Nice to meet you, too, Devin. People sometimes call me Ether, my middle name. That's really family though, so just Sage is fine. Ah, yes, I am a contestant; though I've seen crew around as well."

Kazill Smith | 23 | Tagging: Nova

Kaz took the bags from her easily. "Don’t worry about these, you just focus on recovering from your little boxing practice, I’ll handle the bags." He himself only had one bag, slung over his shoulder, so it was no burden on him to carry her bags up the stairs for her. " You done anything to help with the soreness? I’m pretty sure that once we’ve all settled and can get some free time, you’d have the time for a hot bath. If not, I’ll cover for ya."

Kaz stepped inside, shouldering open the door and heading for the stairs. A trio of other contestants were already there. Or…two guys with bags and a woman dressed in a tight blue dress. Another contestant, maybe making one of the men carry her bag, or a hostess or staff member of some sort? He couldn’t tell. "Well, do you want to settle first, or explore a bit?" His gaze moved back to Nova, lingering just a moment as they drew near the stairs.

Luciano DeLuca | 26 | Tagging: Jess, Emma

"I think that’s just how biology works. Either you’re the predator or the prey. So it’s better to be the scary one than the one running with their tail between their legs," Luciano responded, glancing over his shoulder at Jess as he spoke. He smiled from the corner of his lip, but said nothing after that, happy to simply stand there and listen, simply observe the world around him as the two girls made their introductions.

Luciano's gaze shifted around the house. People were gradually trickling in. That was good, soon everyone would be here, all twelve of them. Eleven other people to get to know, he was sure he’d find rivals, but he was also sure that along the way, somewhere, he would at least make some friends. That would be nice.

Kassandra DeMarks | 23 | Tagging: Briar, Aaron

That was a feeling Kass could understand. She didn’t think there was any better bed, but it would suck to be the last to arrive and not have a choice at all. Okay. Maybe there were some that were better. The ones by windows. "I want to get one close to a window. Light is good in the morning before going downstairs. Won’t have to get out of bed until the others start getting up." It’d give her time to work on her designs. Just because she was on the game and on camera didn’t mean she was about to stop doing the work she loved.

"Is it nice there? I’ve never been," Kass admitted. Her lips curved up into the start of a smile. "Well then I suppose you’re in the right place. Exciting, isn’t it?" Her eyes gleamed. This was her scene, certainly. She could see anxiety written on some contestants' faces, and in a game of constant social judgements, who could blame them? But she herself felt no such apprehensions.

───────────────────────── . 25 . he/him . loc; bedroom . tags; kassandra, aaron, nova─────────────────────────

Briar made sure to keep a decent distance between both Kassandra and Aaron. While Kass didn’t have any bags, he didn’t want to accidentally bump one of the ones he was holding against her heel, and he also didn’t need that very same bag to swing backwards and knock Aaron back down the stairs. There were probably about twenty extremely polished steps to climb up, but it didn’t feel like it. Then again, Briar had just forced himself up twice as many back outside, so really, this was nothing. He kept one hand near the rail, his fingertips delicately brushing against the top of it, and the other clung onto Kass’s bags.

“Arizona,” he echoed, a hint of surprise audibly laced into his usual tone. “I will admit, I did not expect to hear that.” Arizona was one of the few places Briar had not had the pleasure of visiting, but he’d seen enough pictures of it. Sure, Phoenix was a bigger city, just as Briar suspected she came from, but Arizona was so… dry. It was the right location settled in the wrong location when it came to Briar’s prediction. Even a place like Vancouver Island wasn’t the first thing that would’ve come to mind, but everyone was always so full of surprises. To Briar, it was not overly astonishing to hear this come from Kass. The location, or, locations themselves were, but she seemed like someone who would constantly whip out a surprise at any moment.

He didn’t glance at Aaron as he spoke, mainly because he was still walking up the stairs and didn’t need to throw off his balance. “I don’t know,” he spoke slowly, as if heavily contemplating what Aaron said. “I had some very eager workers snag my bags the second I stepped out of my Uber. Unless they tossed them in the garden or something, I may have beat you to your bed choice. Don’t worry,” he added, and although he kept a straight face, he was teasing, “I’m a nice guy; I’ll take the less nice bed if they so generously gave me the best one.” Once he was on the second floor, he quickly skidded to the side to give Aaron room, then let his eyes settle on the guy. “What do you do?” he asked. There were many jobs that involved travelling, but based on first impressions, there wasn’t a career in particular that screamed Aaron. Then again, he hadn't revealed much about himself.

He grinned at Aaron’s response to Kassandra’s answer. “That’s one way to do it,” he laughed. “Go big or go home, am I right?” In all honesty, he himself didn’t have a proper reason behind his audition. “I just needed a change, I guess,” he settled for. That was a bit of a stretch, for this was more than a simple change, but that was good enough. He needed to take his mind off of the troubles at home while cozying up around something relatively familiar? This house certainly strayed far from familiarity, though. He kept quiet of his personal life; if they didn’t ask, he wouldn’t tell. He wasn’t too sure where home really was, anyway. “What about you, Kass? You don’t really strike me as someone who’d willingly chase after someone for the sake of it.”

He was last to follow them, allowing empty-handed Kass to do the job of discovering the room. And she did, relatively quickly. “Detective Kass right at ’er.” Again, he lingered back. He was quick to spot his bags, although they were near the front doorframe, not at a bed. “Look at that, Aaron! They were so considerate of you that they really did say ‘first choice rights’ for you.” Once the two were inside, Briar followed. He set Kassandra’s bags down momentarily so that he could move his out of the way, pulling them to a bed nearby. A quick nod of his head followed, and, picking up her bags once again, he drifted closer to the window. Seeing how the bed wasn’t taking, he officially proclaimed it Kass’s. Then, while she and Aaron chatted quietly, he lazily took a seat on the bed beside the one for Kass. For a fleeting moment, his attention was swiped as the duo he had spotted earlier came trickling in. His eyes narrowed slightly as he observed them, then he waved his index finger at the girl. “You look familiar,” he said, as soon as Plaid Shirt stopped speaking. “Have we met before?”

Kass raised an eyebrow, gaze flicking to Briar. "Oh? What did you expect, then? I’m curious. You’re not the first person who's received it with surprise. It’s quite a nice place, both of them, though I far prefer Arizona. There are places there that I’d like to see again, things I miss. Every place you go, there’s a different atmosphere, something that makes it special." Her lips curved up into a faint, yet genuine smile.

Go big or go home. Now THERE was an idea Kass could get behind! She had always loved grand gestures, big ideas, anything of the sort, really, so that idea was something she could understand. "People might surprise you. I came here with the intention of meeting people outside of my area, and with the goal of eventually yes, getting the chance, at least, to find my ideal partner. More than that though, I came for the game. For the adventure. For the fame. Cameras, my name and face known. Call me vain if you like, but being noticed and in the spotlight now and then has always been something I’ve craved," she admitted. "My winning personality helps." Okay, so it was a small joke on her part. She knew she could come off as a bit intimidating to some people sometimes.

"Well thank you again, Briar. Carrying my bags for me was quite gentlemanly of you, and much appreciated." After that, Kass fell silent as the man addressed a girl approaching. Black hair, dark eyes, dressed casually. A young man next to her, carrying her bags for her, looking a little less formal, in an outfit that Kass could only think of as a failed attempt at fashion. What was he trying to do, play cowboys? Kass kept her thoughts to herself though. Scowling at him wouldn’t make a very good impression, and while looks mattered to her, while she couldn’t imagine lazily throwing something together, everyone was different, and everyone had an off day and their own style.
