The friendly and playful, cuddly and sweet cute little boy smiled sweetly. The stubborn, hard headed, shy and sometimes nervous one nodded. golden eyes looked to the other trainee. The white furred off white eared one nodded. "I'm doing well too; i...could help if you want? If you think the healer wouldn't mind," he said.

He jumped a bit as he heard another voice behind them. Of course, he'd really been paying attention to the conversation, and nothing else. He turned a bit, looking over his shoulder. He saw Aoi there, and dipped his head a bit. "No, we...were just talking. Gale says he needs to organize these herbs, i think."

The average height but slender light brown beauty smiled and nodded. "Good thing im the one having them, then." This was a tease, a joke, whatever. "No, but in all seriousness, I can't wait to see my little ones. Even if they turn out to be Yukino's..." she said with a shake of the head. She didn't even know why he'd been with her...After all, he hadn't wanted kittens, and these might be his.

The sweet and gentle pretty little red thing yawned and shook her head. The shy and nervous brown patched one, with high white, stretched. The tabby (in the red) she cat then shook herself. Brown eyes glanced about, and white whiskers twitched. The darker pink nosed one headed out of the den. She didn't really see Shiro...and shook her head. Of course, if Shiro and the others were still in camp, maybe she just hadn't looked to the right spot. She made a feline sound, headed for the prey pile.

The green eyed fluffy black she cat smiled and butted her brother. "Congratulations," she said with a small purr. "Youre probably just going to take hunters... but I could go if you want. Otherwise, guess I have to hang around and bother Karter." It was meant as some sort of joke. She'd never actually be annoying to Karter.

The gentle, sweet, friendly, and playful slightly smaller and slender male purred. They touched noses, and his new role was cemented. He turned to Morain and dipped his head to her, then Reimei.

He grinned and made a small sound at both of them. "I guess I do have a hunting party to organize," he said. He then glanced to his sister, then back to Karter. "Do you...think I should put Navii in the hunting party?" he asked.

Karter glanced at Navii and a quiet purr of laughter slipped away from him. "Oh c'mon, you? Bother me? Never!" Then Karter fixed Linkk with a hard stare. "Linkk, I may not know everythin' 'bout the world, I may not be in a high position. I’m not Reimei or Móraín or Bat, but I’m not stupid. I know that asking subordinates who you should put in a hunting party or on a guard patrol ain’t proper protocol. You don’t ask those underneath you, Linkk. You TELL them. You not sure if you want someone in your huntin' party? You don’t consult me. You consult the Captain, or you take 'em with ya. If ya start lookin' for help from the cats underneath you, you’ve got problems. You accepted the role of a Lead, so LEAD, Linkk. Prove to the Chief that he chose the right cat. You can hate me, or be angry at me for any of what I’ve said, or how I’ve said it. I don’t care. All I care about is that this Pride runs right, and it runs on the leadership of our commanders. You’re one of 'em now, Linkk. You’ve gotta step up to the plate. There’s nowhere to hide now." His eyes gleamed, envy, perhaps a glimmer of pride underneath, however. "There are cats who would KILL to be in your position right now. Show the Chief he was right."

Kass couldn’t imagine, quite honestly. Being left carrying kits and then the father disappearing into the void. Both immature and irresponsible, not to mention downright cruel. Even if it had been an accident, it wasn’t right. She’d only ever known a good family, so seeing something like this just about broke her on some level, but she forced herself to maintain a relatively positive outer face. "Can I ask you a question, Ada? I will warn you, as an expecting mother, it may offend you, and that’s not my intentions, I just can’t help but wonder."

He batted at Karter but not in a mean way, so more like he was pawing at him. He sighed and took a breath, then glanced to Navii. He laughed at her words, then shook his head. "Navii...I'm not going to take you along this time; sorry..." he muttered. She didn't seem upset at all, though. He muttered "I should probably ask the captain how many cats to take. Should I take them all? There's two hunters plus me...and two all arounds," he said, more to himself than anything. He then shook himself and looked up. He saw Kazill, and said "I...I'm going to go hang out with Kaz for a bit." He let them say anything they wanted to. He then headed off to Kazill, saying "Hello Kaz, how are you?" and sitting down.

This was how Karter showed affection with his friends. He wasn’t into physical contact much, but with friends, it felt safe. It was right. So he had no arguments, only chuckled, licking Navii's ear, then turning to paw at Linkk's leg in return, claws sheathed and touch light. "I think the All-Arounds are out with Shade right now, but maybe once they come back? Might be best to talk to Captain Monroe about that."

As expected, Bramble and Shiyu had fallen silent. Kaz's brief peace was interrupted by the arrival of a smaller, familiar form. Linkk, the newly appointed Lead Hunter. And one of the closest friends he had. Linkk, Ryder, and Bramble. They were really his social group. He didn’t need anything else. "Hey Linkk. Congrats on the promotion. Pretty exciting, isn’t it?" He prompted, keeping his voice down when he bent to playfully lick the smaller cat between the ears.

"I like your attitude about it," Kass decided. She tucked her paws under her chest comfortably, the weight soothing under her fluffy chest. "What made you want kits? What’s the deal with them? They’re so loud and small, they take up constant attention and time…" she shook her head. "I could never do it. What makes you WANT to be surrounded by small, loud creatures that you can barely keep track of once they finally open their eyes?"

Even though Jasper made sure to keep his steps light and his voice low, that didn't stop him from sharing a few quick words here and there. Communication was key with hunting; one wrong move could throw off the whole party. When he was training, one of the first things his mentor taught him was how to speak lowly whilst still paying keen attention to his surroundings. Moonlight seemed to catch onto that quickly, and he figured she had some experience from her job now.

"Well done, Shiro. We can check the brook if we aren't successful with the rabbits," he decided. He glanced over at Moonlight to show that he was addressing the both of them. "I don't advise rushing into things with the rabbits," the Hunter continued. "We'll wait just a bit before we target a den or two. It'll help us determine if they've recently left, or recently arrived. We don't need to scare off the others, as well; waiting for a moment will help us figure out which are active, and which aren't."

Content in realizing that this conversation was going to last more than a couple of fleeting heartbeats, Kaliska settled for a more comfortable resting position. She'd always felt embarrassed with her limp paw, which was often held at a noticeable position due to the unexpected pain it caused her from time to time, but L'Anda didn't give off a judgemental vibe, which Kali greatly appreciated. "You need some you time!" she insisted. "Bonding and treating yourself makes you stronger. Anyone would be lucky to have you as a friend, really."

She wasn't able to hold back the tiniest of laughs at L'Anda's comment regarding Hunter. Kaliska didn't like speaking ill about anyone unless given a good reason for it, but it was a relief to hear this coming from another cat. It made her wonder how many bad encounters L'Anda had had with him. "I hope that's what you report back to our Chief," she continued with the teasing. "'Hunter was a hairball once again. No new news to report.'" Her tail swished mischievously, and she could only pray the tomcat wasn't around to hear them. The joking died down as L'Anda carried on in a different tone, and Kaliska returned to listening intently. "Do you get promoted to Messenger?" she asked curiously. "Or is it something you can take on right from the start?"

Bramble had heard Kaz's question regarding their opinions on the newly promoted cats, but he didn't have a chance to respond. For once, Bat didn't wait around for more than a few seconds. Bramble figured Móraín had hissed something in his ear to get him going. As Messenger, it was his job to subtly spy on the other pride members, but admittedly, the name that was announced for Lead Hunter did surprise him. He hadn't had a chance to ask Shiyu what his thoughts were, and he didn't believe his Trainee had answered Kaz's question, but he'd make sure to dive deeper into it once the meeting officially ended.

He did perk up contentedly when Reimei's name was called; this didn't come as a surprise to him. "Did you predict either of these cats?" he asked Shiyu in a low tone, turning this into a quick training session. "What traits do you think stood out to Bat?" He glanced up for a fleeting second as Linkk trotted over to them, and flicked his tail in greeting.

Monroe remained impressively quiet as Bat began the ceremony. He couldn't help but glance over at Móraín, questioning to himself whether or not she knew what the Chief had settled with or not. Monty, of course, had no idea, and when inquiring about it with Reimei a little while ago, it became clear that the Captain wasn't too sure, either. Monroe supposed Bat didn't really need to say anything to anyone, but it was killing him not to know.

When he did know, he couldn't say he was relieved. In fact, his expression dropped completely, and he stared blankly at Linkk as the tomcat trotted over to Bat to accept his role. Linkk? Part of Monty was exuberant, knowing he'd be able to work alongside Linkk from time to time, but on the other hand... This wasn't good. Monty's jaw clenched slightly and he continued to stare at the new Lead Hunter, eyes following him as he wandered off. Was he supposed to congratulate him? Yes. Would he? That was something he'd round back to later.

Emersyn sat by herself on the outskirts of the gathered cats, her eyes fixated intently on Bat as he turned to address the crowd. There wasn't much pumping through her mind as she silently watched, oddly enough. She knew this day would come eventually, it was just a bit unusual, how out-of-the-blue the announcement was. Her eyes narrowed slightly as she focused on their Chief. He wasn't sick... was he? She suspected if anything, he wanted to get things going before the first snowfall happened. That seemed like a more suitable response than claiming to be sick, especially since he didn't show any signs of it. But what was she to say? She was by no means a Healer.

He seemed to know exactly who he wanted and where. Emersyn still remained quiet, her paws tingling slightly, anxious to get up and moving. There were things that needed to be done, and unfortunately, they wouldn't be resolved without a cat's help. The more chatting, the longer the day would be. She was already ready for it to be over.

They watched the meeting going on, she had little unsure feelings about Reimei's promotion. Especially as the captain, vice-captain positions were pretty much a center think which got her parents together. She was happy for her mother, but still, she did feel sad about it too, even if their father could be wanted for Reimei to live on.

He watched as the meeting goes on, he was not that surprised that his mother was being chosen as the second. He looked at his mentor as he asked the question, which he kind of missed when Kaz asked the same question before the meeting even started, He was so focused on looking for the pretty all-around there. He thought for a moment "well eh, I didn't really even think about the whole promotion think" he responded "well I was not that surprised about my mother's promotion, but I guess was the advisor to become a second" he meowed his eyes watching up to the sky as he thought the question. He looked at the messenger "traits? well, I think they're loyal and worked hard...they could be ready for the promotion" he meowed.

She gave a smile to those who approved to congratulate her on her promotion. The meeting was still going so she didn't really say anything just watched the guard take the place of the vice-captain, of course, her former vice-captain Monroe could take her place as a captain, but she was being heard that he may not want the position. She herself felt a little sad about that as she thought that Monroe could become a good captain, but if he wants something else then she can do anything about that, his own happiness goes first.

He looked at the advisor a little calmer this time but he was still pretty pissed off "that's right, I am like a prison on this pride...nobody takes me seriously, I were a guard working my butt on fire to become a lead guard, but all got down because one mistake..but it's fine I get that...I got what I deserved for my wrongdoing, but the rest act like my past as a guard means nothing..." he looked elsewhere with a laugh "so welcome to the reality advisor...I think even you could not stay there with me now If I didn't do that small snarl...you could've walked past me just like everyone else does" he meowed.

He rolled his eyes "no you're wrong buddy, your mentor was pretty much awakened...so you could get up now before she comes there to pick you up" he responded. He flicked his tail as he thought "I could get to my mentor too, so come on and let's start the day" he called out with a loud meow. ¨
He left the den, giving a quick look to see if the other trainee was getting out too, smiling as he did so. Flicking his tail he half run to the scout there "hola my lovely mentor? anything for us to do today?" he asked excitedly.

She sighed once again "yeah it's fine really...let's not talk about eating anymore, I promise that I will eat something big when we get back to that patrol" she meowed with a smile playful grim. She looked at the vice-captain for a moment, feeling a little nervous yet sad "You know what Hunter? being together with you is already very hard on me...it's not like I dislike you, but I do like you..." she meowed getting a silent for a moment "ah, let's go to get crescent and let this patrol roll" she meowed her tail flicking as she walked to the Crescent "Crescent, mornings? up for a patrol?" she meowed to the older guard.

She followed the two her tail tip flicking a few times, she didn't want to move her tail too fast as it could move some of the leaves and do some sounds. She looked around giving Jasper a quick nod, looking at Moonlight "so what makes you want to go out for a hunt? you don't hunt often?" she asked at Moonlight "oh it's nothing like I am against it, it's just...well...you don't usually do that..." she repeated her words.

He looked at Snowy then to the herb pile "I see...of course..." he meowed thoughtfully, his eyes looking at Gale "can I do anything to help? or does this be like you together kind of thing?" he meowed not wanting to show that their closeness made him a little bit jealous.

He sighed looking elsewhere "of course, we're going to do some guarding jobs..." he meowed rather uninterested. He flicked his ears at the she-cat's other words "actually now when you ask...can we after the guard patrol...do some battle training? I want to know how to fight better? actually, how to win a cat who is larger than me? maybe even how to win against a fox?" he meowed. He did know that a cat winning against a fox could be almost impossible especially alone.

She looked at her then toward her paws "well, I had born with bad health, I don't have the immutable like you normally has, I get sick easier and my wounds don't heal as fast as a normal could, my wounds will easily get infected too...so...that's why I am not a hunter or anything else..." she meowed to her with a little sad tune. She kept looking elsewhere "I know how to hunt, I was an all-around trainee...but the healers thought it may be too risky on my health problems that it's better to be something else...I wanted to be even a little help to my pride so I decided to become an artisan..." she responded looking over the hunter once again "but eventually I can get out for a walk or a small hunt if I am just careful...so maybe I can join you sometime" she said to her little bit more excited.

Ryder blinked. They wanted HIM for the Vice-Captain? He glanced briefly at Wilted as she spoke, and it warmed his heart. Of course he deserved it, even if he wasn’t the youngest cat in the world. The Chief wouldn’t appoint a role to someone who hadn’t worked hard enough to deserve the offered role. So he stepped forward and dipped his head to his superiors. "It'd be much of a pleasure to work under you, and I’d be honoured the accept the role and serve under you in such a way." He looked out at the group of cats. "However, I have to reject this time. Not because I don’t wish the position, but because I know there’s someone here who deserves the position far more than I do. Emersyn is far more deserving, and a better fit for the role overall."

Moonlight followed the two Hunters out of camp, paying attention to the world around her with all her senses now, not just with her eyes and ears. Her pale gaze flicked to Jasper, and she tilted her head to the side. So they weren’t going after the rabbits who would be fattening up now for the season. "What are we taking a look for then beforehand?" She asked. Mice? Shrews? If they were going to be by the water, fish? She wasn’t so fond of fish, but it was the perfect season for them to be in the area, but that’d be by the river, not a brook.

Crescent heaved himself onto his paws. He yawned and stretched himself out. He walked into camp, where he saw some cats awake and moving already. He blinked, letting his eyes adjust to the morning light.

"All-Around Emersyn, she’s one of our hardest workers, and she has the right attitude for a cat who ought to be in a position of leadership. I feel she will make you a better Vice-Captain than I ever could’ve." Ryder hadn’t simply idly turned it down. He’d had his reasons. He worked hard, yes, but Emersyn had the qualities a good leader would need in a Pride like this. She had what he did not.

"Yes." Shade herself had said the same thing not long ago, and it seemed now they were in agreement. She flicked her tail and turned on her heel, heading back towards camp wordlessly. With nothing urgent to report, there was no need to rush back, but she’d still prefer to be in camp over hovering by the border.

"That is not for you or anyone else to say. Please, your snarling only lended to a bad temper, it had no influence on where I chose to seat myself for the meeting. I’ve never tried to put words in your mouth, don’t start it with me." Móraín's expression and voice were calm, but her shoulders were tense and back rigid. As if she were preparing to have to fight or flee. "I can’t speak for any of the others, but I don’t ignore or neglect my Pridemates. I told you before, I like you. You’ve got spirit. That’s something not a lot of us around here have, and something we need more of." The grey and white she-cat sighed. "Perhaps you’re here because mistakes were made, perhaps you got what you deserved, as you said, but that doesn’t mean the others shouldn’t give you the chance to make your way back into the full ranks. I wish…" she closed her eyes. How was it fair to knock Grimjaws down so far and never given him a chance, after just a single mistake?

"I wish you’d told me or Second Reimei sooner. We could’ve helped, could’ve done something about getting you on patrols, in the action, not just stuck around here at camp. You know, before I was the Advisor, I was a Guard. I still double-duty as a Guard when Chief Bat has nothing he needs my help with. I will talk with whoever the new Lead and Vice-Captain are, I’m sure there will be no troubles with it. Would you like to join me for the evening patrol tonight?" She asked. After all, the first step was just helping him reintegrate into Guard duties in the first place, beyond camp.

Hunter knew that. He knew his presence was tricky for some if not most cats. He’d been trying. He had a reputation, but it wasn’t a great one, and he cared under the surface of what those around him thought. Why couldn’t he be more like Kade? Kade always had the right words. At the very least he didn’t make genuine concern sound like an accusation. "Thanks." His tone was dry, vaguely sarcastic, but he couldn’t help himself. "I’m trying, Kuro. I'm trying to be better about it. I’m not trying to be a burden on you. I like you, you’re one of the only cats around here who doesn’t look at me with IMMEDIATE disdain, you don’t go out of your way to avoid me, and it sounds dumb now after I’ve just offended you, but I appreciate it more than you might think, even if I’m worse at this whole communication thing than a deaf kit."

Hunter stayed back a bit when Kuro addressed Crescent, awaiting a response from the Guard. Clearly there was a lot to reflect on, if Hunter planned not to drive yet another cat away. There were surprisingly few times he MEANT to be rude, and it was usually painfully obvious when those were, but even his sincere moments could come off sounding…ingenuine, or just plain WRONG, and he was painfully aware.

I could take you out with me today even, if you wanted, we could go by the open glade area and see if we can catch some rodents. Rodents are easy catches if you know how to do it, and if you had some All-Around training, it should come back to you pretty quick, and I can help with the rest. The friendly and playful, cuddly and sweet cute little boy smiled sweetly. The stubborn, hard headed, shy and sometimes nervous one nodded. golden eyes looked to the other trainee. The white furred off white eared one nodded. "I'm doing well too; i...could help if you want? If you think the healer wouldn't mind," he said.

He made a small sound, wondering if Aoi likes Gale too... "We...we aren't...were too young to be a thing; only adults can be mates," he said. Then again, he did have a crush on Gale. Now that he thought about it, Aoi wasn't half bad either. He shook his head a couple times. "I'm sure we could both help, if Gale doesn't mind."

The average height but slender light brown beauty almost scoffed. "I didn't really plan for kits when I...was with those two. Not that Yukino even told me he didn't want kits until after our...activities. It just kind of happened, I got pregnant. I have always wanted kittens, though. I think I can handle them, especially if I find a mate or even a friend to help. Anyway, why do I want kits? For one thing, they're sort of like a connection to cats I've lost, my family members like my grandparents. They will also continue my blood lines. Plus...while Yukino didn't want kittens, he's an intelligent and usually quiet male. If they're his, they'll definitely be well behaved. They won't annoy any of our tribe mates if so."

The sweet and gentle pretty little red thing yawned and shook her head. The shy and nervous brown patched one, with high white, stretched. The tabby (in the red) she cat then shook herself. Brown eyes glanced about, and white whiskers twitched. The darker pink nosed one headed out of the den. She didn't really see Shiro...and shook her head. Of course, if Shiro and the others were still in camp, maybe she just hadn't looked to the right spot. She made a feline sound, headed for the prey pile.

The green eyed fluffy black she cat smiled and nudged at him a bit. She watched him paw at Linkk, then he mentioned Monroe...She didn't know if he knew about Monroe and Linkk. Linkk was already on his way over to Kaz, but she saw him flinch...She smacked at Karter, but didn't hurt him. "Not Monroe...he hurt Linkk," she said.

The gentle, sweet, friendly, and playful slightly smaller and slender male smiled at Karter. As he was headed away, he heard...He heard him say Monroe, and flinched a bit. He also heard Navii start speaking, and had hurried on his way to Kaz. He squeaked now, as the other male licked between his ears. Not for the first time did he wonder if it meant something, or was just friendly. After Monroe, he couldn't confess...Besides, Kaz probably didn't even like him like that. He didn't realize he's need to observe him. To see if he caught any signs of...anything from the other male. He then shook his head, smiled, and said "Thank you. It is really exciting, except..." he trailed off, not saying Monroe's name.
