all newly joining cats, as well as anyone showing no symptoms of sickness, are sent to a large cave in the south-western edge of the clan's territory to remain safe from potentially catching this mystery disease. in her absence, littermates valentineveil and redswipe are named temporary seraphim for this new temporary clan camp.

✦ satinstar has a dream where she sees three of the archangels speaking in hushed tones to one another in the backdrop of heaven; she couldn't tell if it was a true vision or she was just wanting to see them, because she had been crying out to them to help her with the plague for the last few moons. waking up in a cold sweat from this dream, she shoots up in her nest, immediately mewing out in distress. the rit zien nightsky was at her side in an instant, asking what she needs or what she can help with, and the pale calico weakly asked for her to get the seraphim basilfloof. the polycaudal molly nodded and quickly made her way to the calico tom's side, gently shaking him awake, but taking note that he was twitching strangely in his sleep, and he awoke with a start. the rit zien explained the situation, and despite not feeling well, the seraphim dragged himself to his paws, leaning against the molly for some support as she lead him towards satinstar's nest. nightsky is dismissed at this point, but as she is leaving, her ears perked at the singular word being repeated by both cats over and over again - "lyssa... lyssa?..".

later on that very day, valentineveil and redswipe arrive at the edge of the quarantine camp with young flybackpaw. the two mollies explain that despite everything going on with the plague, they have had dreams that they believe are from the archangels up in heaven telling them that flybackpaw is to be the next grigori, and to train him under gooseglare. satinstar approaches the border, still shaken up by her earlier meeting with her seraphim, but nods that if it is what the archangels want, she will not fight it, despite how dangerous a time it is for the young one. henfeather, meanwhile, doesn't even realize her son is gone until the two temporary leaders return without him, and she's an absolute mess of worry as she hears what has been done.

✦ grieving families - mallowsun's death hits the entire clan hard, as she was the final member of her family living in the clan. her five kits had all been killed by various things over the moons of their lives in the celestials, and it felt almost like the end of an era as she took her last breath. one of her two former apprentices, sagescorch, was also quarantining due to recently being exposed to the sick, and thus insisted on carrying her and burying her, as she explained that while mentoring them, mallowsun had become like a second mother, and deserved to be respected in her death.
✦ grieving families - parchmentdrip's mate frozenhowl is completely stoic at her burial, and although his face is emotionless, the pain in his eyes is obvious; he's trying to be strong for parchmentdrip's best friend and sister, inkbread, who is the opposite of him. inkbread is a crying mess and leans heavily on her brother-in-law. inkbreads daughter tries to comfort her mother as well, who is frantic to see her son tunatail who is also sick, but the rit zien won't allow her for fear of her being infected as well.
✦ grieving families - mudpuddle takes solace knowing that her kit was comforted and held until the very end, and says several prayers to the heavens in thanks for mallowsun's kindness. mudpuddle feels absolutely alone in the clan now, without her daughter frostpaw, and isn't sure what to do anymore with herself.

✦ grieving families - sugarpeach dies from plague complications. grayrain, the father of her kits may not have been her mate, but they were good co-parents, and he mourns for the loss of such a wonderful mother, alongside her three surviving kits, cinamontang, vanillatwig, and aniseheat.
✦ grieving families - hazelmask unfortunately dies of the plague. with no family left to mourn her, save for kits that she surrogated who live far away in another clan, hazelmask's former apprentice parsleybeam travels to highgarden to inform the calico's mate foxspark of her passing.
✦ grieving families - coalfur reaches out her paw towards her son gooseglare as she takes her last breath; he watches the light leave her eyes as she dies. swanspirit is a complete mess as her brother relays a message to her that their mother has passed away from the plague. it takes everything in her not to go marching into the quarantine camp, with only her mates currasowcrunch and frigidarium being able to stop her. young muscovycall takes on the responsibility of traveling to hazelclan to inform his grandmother's mate finnegan of her passing. despite being ill himself, coalfur's other grandson kingfisherdive insists on helping gooseglare bury his mother so that his uncle doesn't have to do it alone. gooseglare would never say it, but he was thankful for the quiet comfort of his nephew at that moment.

--Cirruspatch and Blizzardbird grow closer, eventually leading to them confessing their feelings for each other.
--Batkit, Carrotkit, and Ocelotkit are oblivious to the tensions in the clan about the sickness, despite Lilacshimmer's obvious fear towards Glasskit's weakened immune system. Papayakit has been spending a lot of the time in the nursery coughing and complaining of being hot... Mod Notes:
Cats with an underlined name I would like to save from death rolls. Injuries are fine for all cats.

Oakstar visited the moonpool last month, when a folded ear cat arrived, asking to join his clan he was thrilled. Icefrost was welcomed with open paws into the clan. Moonriver instantly took a liking to the new she-cat. He began helping her in every way possible, showing her the territory, teaching her their hunting techniques, and just being a friend. Icefrost was amazed at the kindness of her new clanmate.

Oakstar himself had begun to develop a relationship with a cat. It had been a few moons since the beautiful Autumnsong had joined his slowly growing clan. The two had consulted and confided in each other a lot, As most medicine cats and leaders did. The pair had grown very close and Autumnsong praised starclan that the warrior code allowed for medicine cats to develop relationships and have kits, as long as they still preformed their duties.

Oakstar grew worried this past moon about their small numbers, there were no apprentices training to be warriors, no kits growing to become apprentices. He shhared his worries with Moonriver. The deputy assured his leader that their numbers would grow in time, but Oakstar couldn't shake the unease.

WEATHER !!

LEAFBARE || The days are cold. The nights are long. Snow falls periodically, coating the grass with a frosty sheen of ice. It is perhaps the hardest season, but many agree it to also be the most beautiful. Hungry predators prowl through the forests, greedy enough to attack fiercer opponents for the slightest chance at a measly scrap to eat. The levels of sickness rise to an almost unbearable point, and most agree on one thing. Life is hard.
