this might be a dumb question, but i'm going to ask it anyway bc i'm confused and it might help others as well. this is technically a list based on rarity and not demand, but it can be confusing for some of us who can't place the exact value of a "non" in terms of trading.

why are some pets color-coded with the blue/red or bolded to say that they often go for much more or less than the tier on which they are placed?
^^ clarification ^^ i know why they're color coded on the rarity list, but....
for the demand list: why not just move them to a different tier based on their demonstrated value? i know not everyone follows this particular list (or any list) and people will value things differently, but why not move things up or down based on those demand calculations?

for example, some pets like the galaxy cat go for upwards of 2 nons, where i'm struggling to even get 1 non for my ur pineapple, yet the pineapple is placed 3 tiers above the cat? or the sunback, which is technically on the non tier, but generally goes for 3+ nons. or the BEG/CEG which go for 1-2 nons but are placed way below them on the list bc they're both VRs?

i'm sure there are others on this list that people have similar difficulties valuing because of those discrepancies. i also understand that the rarity list itself is pretty constant, but what would the criteria/process be to get a pet moved on the demand-based list? and/or how drastic of a change would it be to reorder the demand list to average out a pet's place on the rarity list vs what it goes for in reality?

I believe it’s color coded and not moved due to the rarity sometimes being more/less than actual value of the pet and vise versa aka the top being a zebra and it’s worth much less than the sun jewel/sun back but it’s theoretically more rare to our knowledge so it’s placed above because this list is mainly based on rarity and not demand but someone can correct me if I’m wrong hope it helped a little if any

I believe a part of the arrangement is for quick reference. By having the placement in the demand list mirror the arrangement of the rarity list, it makes it easier to find a pet more immediately as you know where to look for it. If the list was completely ordered by demand, it would become more difficult to search for a specific outcome as you may not know where to specifically look. This likely also helps in the process of maintaining the list, as many lists in the past which have consistently ordered pets by demand have gotten outdated remarkably quickly (as demand is a very subjective and ever-changing influence). By having a set arrangement, the only data that needs to be updated are the numbers beside them. ^^
