Northstar had big plans for her clan. But even though she had great inspirations, sometimes she just had to work with what she had. She wasn’t happy about that, just like she wasn’t happy about the members of her clan. In her head everything looked different. She would become queen and then all of the greatest cats from the area would flock to her, realizing her magnanimity. Sure, you could say that cats did sort of find their way onto her land, but they were… uhh. If this kept up, her clan will look more like a circus than the great kingdom she imagined. The first member, Thornblaze… Alright, he was a good warrior and if he wasn’t so lazy he could actually make a decent knight, but there was no getting through to the man. He was obnoxious and lived with his head in the clouds. A lost cause, really. North would replace him in a heartbeat if only there was someone she could replace him with. The only one who could do it was Nightfall. He was the only one so far that wasn’t a great disappointment. He was strange in his own way and sometimes creeped her out when he suddenly appeared out the darkness, but he had some redeeming qualities. He was a great scout and an assassin. Her clan needed more cats like him. The only reason he didn’t replace Thornblaze was because that would leave her with only one knight and that would be a pitiful state. Also, he lacked Thornblaze’s strength. Blaze might have not had the brains, but he had the brawl.

The only one else that Northstar quite liked was the new molly that joined them. She was dignified and spoke with eloquence that North sought. Sadly, she was old and not much use, but where she lacked in hunting and fighting skills she could make up for with attitude lessons. North was excited about that and hoped that she would have some good influence on the other members of the clan. Even little improvement was still improvement. In addition, if she was the one taking care of the muses, it was guaranteed that they would turn out better than if Thorn was to look after them. On top of that she had a unique name, Swoop Of a Snow Owl. North never heard of such a naming tradition, but she liked it. She actually considered employing it in her clan and even changing her own name. She could sound so much more majestic. Star of the North. Stars that Shine like Diamonds on the North Sky. There were so many possibilities and she smiled just thinking about them. Perhaps she would advise her deputy to introduce her like that from now on. When she gets a deputy, anyway. As soon as you heard it you knew that Owl came from a high status bloodline and wasn’t some nobody like Amber.

Uhh, don’t even get her started on Amber. Completely useless, worthless and pathetic. The girl got scared by sparrows and refused to hunt mice. If she hadn’t joined the clan, she would have been already dead. Kittypets like her weren’t fit to live in the real world. In North’s eyes she was dead weight and might as well be treated as if she was better off dead. Which she would be if it wasn’t for the good buy boy scout Thornblaze. The stupid tom kept bringing weakling onto her grounds and then refused to kill them off. They now lived here leeching off others. It was a terrible situation, but at the current state of the clan, North had to deal with what she had. Hope however, did not leave her. In her mind, it wasn’t even hope, it was just the future. One day she would have a splendid deputy and great knights to protect her. And then she would get rid of all the balast that was Amber and that new one. What was even her name? Something ridiculous. Curse or Wisp. Right, it was Jinx. A fittingly stupid name for such a stupid molly. Even her skills in hunting didn’t make up for the fact that she was completely insane. She stole items from twolegs and kept putting stickers on everyone’s furs. She even put one on North’s forehead. The nerve! If anyone learned that North’s clan had whackos like her in the ranks, North would be a laughing stock. She could never allow it. It will be a blessing when she’s taken by the flow of river.

Luckily, there was some potential in the youngest generation. The two orphans she brought under her wing like a caring mother after Thornblaze refused to carry out her order to kill them were destined to grow into wonderful subjects. Or at least one of them would, the other was just a backup. While they looked very strange, much more like rabbits than cats, their looks didn’t really matter. In fact, their large ears would make them easy to spot in a crowd, which was a plus. Unlike the adults, they were wet clay ready to be moulded and North was ready to get her paws dirty to shape them into beautiful vases that she needed and deserved. She smiled thinking about the day one of them would join her at her side as a deputy and would do her every bidding without the blink of an eye. It would be the start of the perfect world foretold to her in her prophecies.

Starclan had great plans for her and she was ready to make them happen. She was the chosen one. She could feel it and honestly, she always knew that she was destined for greatness. Her clan wasn’t much right now, but it would all change. New knights will be trained and when their numbers were strong enough they would conquer nearby lands and she would be their queen, ruling from a throne made of bones of their enemies and those who dared defy her. Or perhaps their pelts because that sounded much more comfortable and fitting for a queen. After all, she wasn’t a monster.

season: leafbare / winter
snow lies in massive drifts over the territories. even the warmest areas feel the effects,
from frost killing vulnerable plants, to causing coughs to those who have experience too
much exposure. as prey and herbs have become scarce, there will also be fewer strangers
looking to explore the vast clan territories. queens may have a harder time kitting, so
medicine cats will need to be well-stocked and prepared for the following moons.

TUNDRACLAN ▬ selkirks

hunting results
• mr. j's patrol caught x1 stoat and x1 tundra vole.
• cockroachstar and his patrol managed to catch x1 least weasel and x1 hare.
• mapledrop's patrol caught x1 common raven and x1 tundra shrew. however, in the young warrior's efforts to prove her worth as a patrol leader, mapledop didn't pay enough attention where she was walking. she strayed too close to a rocky slope, which gave way under her paws. thankfully, she was spared a long drop, but she landed on several of the jagged stones, which opened up several wounds on her flank that didn't stop bleeding by the time the rest of the patrol brought her home. the herbalists are alarmed by mapledrop's severe bleeding and decide that she will need x2 cobwebs and x1 horsetail as well as x3 moons of rest to ensure that she heals properly.

border patrol results
• sunglow's patrol encounter a warrior-aged cat, who seems to be homeless and cold from the first vicious moon of leafbare. the patrol takes pity on the cat and offer them passage back to tundraclan's camp, where they might find shelter.
indent↪ the cat is a "seal-and-white point mediumhair with blue eyes," colored by inky. here is their starting geno: Ll, B-, Xo-, D-, aa, --, cscs, Wsw
• terrabite and his patrol return to camp with nothing to report as their patrol passed without anything too special to mention.
• cloudytree's patrol starts off rather uneventfully, but their chatter is interrupted when redslash hears the distant sound of a cat calling for help. the patrol is quick to jump into action, following redslash as the warrior leads them to the source of the noise: an elderly cat hides under a thicket as a fox tries to scrabble and dig the bush up to reach them. not about to leave the elderly cat to fend for themself, the clan cats launch an attack and drive the fox away, though not without several injuries. redslash led the attack and sustains minor bleeding while coalstep received a cut on his cheek that became infected. both redslash and coalstep were lucky, requiring only x1 moon of rest each.

herb hunting results
• after a long day of looking for herbs, the trio of herbalists begin their trip home carrying x1 celandine, x1 cobweb, x1 stick, and x1 elder leaves. however, the bushes begin to rustle and the herbalists are soon surrounded by a group of rogues. thankfully, by the end of the brief encounter, no one was hurt, but the rogues stole all of the gathered herbs, leaving the herbalists to return home with nothing to show for their efforts.

training results
• unfortunately, blackberrypaw failed her training session this moon. but she can try again next moon.
• all of the other apprentices passed and have learned their respective skills.

assessment results
• magmapaw, stumpypaw, mangopaw, and beetlepaw return to camp with wide smiles and a bounce to their steps as their mentors go to tell the clan leaders that the apprentices passed their assessments and are ready to receive their full names.

mates & families
• saffron is expecting wintersneak's kits, which will be delivered to tundraclan in 2 moons.

camp events
• taking advantage of the cold weather, the rogues attack tundraclan's camp and are successful in getting past the outer walls and the guards. though tundraclan's warriors quickly manage to drive the rogues back once more, it seems that the clan began to celebrate their victory a little too early as morninglight announces that the rogues stole x1 marigold and x1 raspberry leaves, which could be needed in the next several moons.

Failnaughtfire was sleeping in the Knight's Den when he felt a weight on his belly. His eyes flicked open, and he playfully sighed as he saw Teddykit staring right down at him, flashing a playful grin. Failnaughtfire had no idea how the tiny kit with her stubby little legs managed to climb onto his belly. Her oddly shaped pupils looked down at him, and Failnaughtfire felt a little creeped out by her stare- he hadn't seen eyes like Anacondapath's till he saw Teddykit. Before he could ask her what she was doing, Raspberrybush stumbled into the den; xe's short legs were pitter-pattering on the ground. The comte gave an apologetic smile and picked up Teddykit with xyr mouth, pulling her off of him, "Sorry, Failnaughtfire! I was watching this little scrap, and she wandered off when Kiwiheart wanted to talk to me." Xe put Teddykit on xyr back, and the small she-cat gave a big yawn and curled up on his xyr back. Failnaughtfire chuckled, "It's alright, Raspberrybush! I know how adventurous kits can be." Failnaughtfire smiled as he remembered playing with his kits before his nap- the four kits were still very young and got tuckered out recently. Raspberrybush smiled, dipped xyr head, and left the den, with Teddykit fast asleep on xyr back.

Smokeyheart and Violetheart were sleeping next to each other, the two friends asleep after a bout of storytelling. Beavernut looked at the two cats and yawned, hoping she would fall asleep soon as well. They were getting old; no doubt they'd retire as Knights soon, and Beavernut felt old age in her bones. Beavernut had lost so much in her life. Even though she was younger than Smokeyheart and Violetheart, she felt as if she was moons older than them because of what she saw in her lifetime. Beavernut sighed and put her head on her paws, memories tugging at her like the chilling wind of the tundra. Many of the cats she knew when she was younger were deceased now. Twigrun, Ashfeather, Stickhop, all of them were with the Shining Lights. She only had her sister Salamanderflane left and Beavernut's niece Eagleswoop. The cream-tabby was expecting a litter of kits, so Beavernut was relieved. She would at least have grandniblings to spoil. Beavernut's thoughts eventually left her exhausted. The she-cat soon found herself dreaming of the family she had lost moons prior.

Batkit sniffed the herb in front of her- horsetail. She had 'borrowed' it from the Healer's Den since she yearned to learn more about the herbs that grow in the tundra. How did they survive the biting cold? How could they thrive in such an environment? Batkit wondered the same for both herbs and cats in the tundra. Hauntkit and Cobwebkit were pestering Falcon and Owlfoot with questions, but Batkit was more interested in the herb. She heard her mother call out for her and quickly covered the horsetail with her nest and trotted over to her mother. Pumpkinfright sighed at Batkit, "Swanflight told me he saw you sneak in-and-out of the Healer's Den. Batkit, I know you are interested in herbs, but since it's Leafbare and the rogues are still attacking us, the Healers need all the herbs they can spare." Batkit stared up at her mother with wide eyes, "I'm sorry, mama. I'll go give it back to Swanflight." The reine padded back to the den, and Pumpkinfright started to wash her curly fur. Batkit walked back out with the horsetail in her mouth and strode towards the Healer's Den. Swanflight was busy organizing herbs and muttering to himself. Batkit set the horsetail down next to the gray-and-white cat and poked them. Swanflight looked up in surprise, but their gaze softened when they saw Batkit, "Thank you for returning this, Batkit. I appreciate it." He gave the reine a lick between the ears and returned the horsetail to its place. Batkit stood still for a moment, then wandered over to a sweet-smelling herb and sniffed it. Swanflight padded up behind her, "You seem interested in herbs. Do you want to be a Healer?" Batkit looked up at them, and Swanflight met the gaze of the she-cat, her fangs and odd white patches making her adorable. She shook her head, "No way! I'd never be able to memorize herbs or heal with them. Besides, I like the idea of hurting real enemies and not invisible ones." Swanflight nodded, "So you just like herbs?" Batkit gave a small giggle, "I just wonder how they survive in such a harsh environment." The black and white cat explained. Swanflight nodded in understanding, "They've evolved to survive, much like the cats of our clan." Swanflight looked up and returned her gaze, "I think Pumpkinfright is calling for you, Batkit." The she-cat nodded and ran out of the den, throwing a small thank-you back at the Healer.

Splashkit gave a small yelp as Lavenderkit tackled her. It would be exhausting to have the excitable tom as an adopted sibling. Marie had offered to look over Lavenderkit when Wisteriaflight returned to his duties, and the Birman happily obliged. Lavenderkit sat down on her, and the calico huffed in frustration, "I win!" he boasted, and Splashkit rolled her eyes. He got off of her and licked his belly fur, and the calico wished he would go nap or play with any other kit. Marie was sleeping next to Lavapool and Thistlekit. Splashkit sighed and hoped her mother could reprimand the tom for playing rough.
Lavenderkit had gone off to chase a bug, and the calico was relieved to have some peace finally. She curled up in her mother's nest, hoping to keep out the chill air of the tundra and Leafbare. Splashkit managed to nap for what seemed to be a few heartbeats before she felt something tugging at her ear- Lavenderkit. Of course, it had to be him. Splashkit tried to ignore him, but Lavenderkit kept pulling at her, "C'mon! Let's play! I'm bored, and Catvoid practically bit my head off when I asked her if I could wake up Jasperkit, Carneliankit, and Amberkit to play!" Splashkit sighed and rolled over to look at him, "Maybe there's a reason she almost snapped at you. Can you let me sleep? I'm exhausted, and you're not helping!" she grunted. Lavenderkit looked disappointed, and to Splashkit's surprise, the tom curled around her. Splashkit was rigid but slowly sank into her adopter brother's fur. "Well, can we play after your nap?" he asked her quietly. Splashkit gave a big yawn and nodded, "Mhm... Just don't wake me up when I'm sleeping again."

Cloudytree and Hollystar were sitting next to each other, their postures rigid with tension. The two gazed around camp, "Are you sure you want to be a spy, Cloudytree?" Hollystar asked in a hushed murmur to the ginger tabby, who nodded without hesitation. "Hollystar, if anyone can find out where Foxkit is, it's me. I know my daughter's scent by heart, and I'd do anything to find her." Hollystar dipped her head slightly in acknowledgment of the other she-cat, "I know I don't need to tell you this, but be safe, Cloudytree." Hollystar rested her tail on Cloudytree's shoulders before retreating into her and Cockroachstar's den. The ginger tabby gave a deep breath and looked up at the sky, crisscrossed with stars. Her gaze reflected the many stars in the pitch-black night, and she stared at just a moment longer at the moon before swiftly padding out of camp.

Cloudytree silently stalked through the territory, her fur standing on end. It may as well be a death wish, but the ginger tabby was determined to complete her mission as a spy. She stalked through the territory, but a sharp meow garnered her attention. Cloudytree felt her heart drop as she noticed a few pairs of hostile eyes glaring at her. Her ginger fur bristled as the eyes quickly turned into bodies, and she was face to face with a patrol of aggressive cats- no doubt some of the rogues. A cat cloaked in the darkness came up to her, and through the inky blackness, she could make out a cream-colored cat with faint striping. He sneered at her, "What's this? A lost little loner intruding on our territory?" Cloudytree tried to keep her cool as she met the eyes of the tom. "My name is Tree, and I'm a kittypet. Or, I was until my owners abandoned me. Could you take me? I don't know if I can survive out on my own." she murmured.
The black tabby tom next to him looked sympathetically towards her. Still, the cream tom snickered, "You carry Tundraclan scent on you. Do you think we'd fall for a spy?" He spat out the last word with disdain, and Cloudytree thought quickly, "I am no cat of Tundraclan, or whatever you called it. I hung around a part of this tundra, but they chased me out, so I guess I still carry their scent." The black tabby murmured something in the cream tom's ear, and he nodded, "We can always use another cat to hunt and fight for us. Follow us, and you'll be glad you came across The Thorn Rogues."

Cloudytree was worried a rogue in their camp would recognize here. Still, that worry became confusion as she didn't spot a single rogue who had fought Tundraclan in the first battle. The cream tom had introduced himself as Thorn, the leader. The black tabby tom had introduced himself as Thistle, second-in-command to Thorn. Thistle seemed to like Cloudytree, and he constantly followed her around, asking if she needed anything. Cloudytree was sharing a vole with Thistle when she decided to ask the question that was lingering on her mind, "Hey, Thistle," the black tabby tom looked up. Cloudytree continued when she gained his attention, "I thought there'd be more rogues here than you, Thorn, and a few others. Are there any more somewhere?" Thistle thought for a moment, "Actually, yeah. My dad had us in a single camp but then decided it would be better to have separate bases around the tundra. I don't understand why considering-" he broke off. He looked away sharply, worried he was giving too much information to the stranger. Cloudytree's face contorted with shock and confusion, "Is Thorn your father?" the ginger tabby asked softly, and Thistle gave a slight nod, looking almost ashamed. Cloudytree decided not to pester the tom anymore and curled up to sleep. She heard Thistle do the same and drifted off to sleep, his soft breathing calming her nerves.
Cloudytree awoke before the sleeping tom next to her and silently cursed herself- she was supposed to report back to Hollystar near Tundraclan camp, but exhaustion from her trek last night caused her to fall into the jaws of sleep quickly. It seemed the only other rogue awake was Thorn, who was grooming himself next to a large calico. Cloudytree had been pregnant once and recognized the signs in the calico she-cat, and she sent a silent prayer to the Shining Lights the calico's kits wouldn't have to live in such a ruthless manner with the rogues. Thorn's eyes met hers, and the cream tabby began to walk over to Cloudytree. He stopped in front of her and sat down, his tail curling over his paws, "Today, you'll hunt for us. Peach and Fortune will be joining you." Thorn dipped his head towards the pregnant calico and a cat who barely looked old enough to be a Weakling. Cloudytree was about to question Thorn, questioning why a pregnant cat would hunt, then realized it would give away her status in a clan. She barely managed to stop herself, realizing it would give away her position in Tundraclan. She nodded, and Thorn turned away, satisfied.
Peach's eyes looked sullen and hollowed, and a nasty bite mark on her shoulder was emitting the smell of infection. Fortune, still youthful and unfazed by the world he grew up in, looked around with his bright yellow eyes and a smile on his face. Cloudytree's heart panged with regret, and she looked away from her two companions. It was a few heartbeats before a cat spoke up, and not to Cloudytree's surprise; it was Fortune. His face shape and eyes reminded her of Thistle- at this point, everything reminded her of the handsome tom. She shook her head to clear her thoughts and looked towards Fortune, "So! What do you guys think we're going to catch Today? I think we're going to catch..." He stopped for a moment, "A common ptarmigan!" Cloudytree held in a snort, "I think you got common ravens and rock ptarmigans mixed up there kiddo." she chuckled softly. Fortune looked embarrassed for a heartbeat, then regained his composure, "So we'll just catch both!" Peach stayed silent, focusing on the scents around her. Cloudytree wanted to talk to the beautiful calico, but she knew it could jeopardize her mission. Fortune had gone ahead, enticed by a scent trail left by a stoat, and Cloudytree chose her words carefully as she looked towards Peach and spoke, "Hey. How long have you been here?" Peach looked up, and Cloudytree noticed the many scars crisscrossing her face and body, "Well, our group existed before we came to this tundra. Thorn is my mate, and I've accompanied him for moons." Cloudytree did her best to hide her shock as Peach revealed her mate. "Then are you Thistle's mother?"
The ginger tabby asked, and Peach nodded, "Fortune's as well. I've had many kits, but only a few survive. Thistle had two sisters, and Fortune had two brothers and two sisters, but all were killed in skirmishes. I'm lucky Fortune survived this far, even if he's only six moons old." Cloudytree touched Peach's back with her tail as a sign of comfort, then drew it back, "I'm so sorry to hear that. I had a kit-" she thought quickly about what to say, "Who I lost when she was only a few moons old." Peach looked up at her with hollow eyes, "I'm getting old, Tree. This is most likely going to be my last litter. You know how it feels to lose a child, so please look out for Thistle, Fortune, and my future kits. I know it is a lot to ask of you, but I fear with tensions high among us rogues and Tundraclan, I may die any day, but I pray my kits will survive." Cloudytree was shocked at the sudden plead, but her motherly instincts took over, and she nodded, "Of course. I will do everything in my power to protect them, Peach." She swore. The calico gave a slight nod and padded towards the direction Fortune headed off to. Cloudytree paused before following her, the ginger tabby's thoughts racing in her head. Peach sounded as if she didn't like the constant fighting, Thistle seemed hesitant to fight, and Fortune could be persuaded to revolt against Thorn. Cloudytree felt a chill- those three may revolt against Thistle, but the numerous other rogues and rogue camps around the tundra would kill them quickly. Besides, it wouldn't be fair to ask a pregnant cat to fight against her mate, Cloudytree mused. She slowly padded after Peach, every paw step feeling heavier than the last.

-- While out on a moonlit walk, Halfmoon & Larksong take notice of the loose snow resting atop the mountain ridge but are unsure of what it could mean. Upon their return to the caves Halfmoon informs Blizzardstorm & Lilybloom of her findings. All three remain wary but agree not to panic and upset the rest of the clan.
-- Smokewhisker officially adopts Hummingsong as a daughter and the two share an adorable bonding moment. Due to Hummingsong's teasing Smokewhisker reminds the young molly how they had come to meet; the tom having saved her from drowing. Hummingsong sighs exasperatedly at the mention of the story she's heard numerous times now.
-- Chococaw drags Lattepaw to the nursery to bond with her new half-brothers, but it's quite obvious to the nursing Florabite that the young to-be seems to be holding a grudge against her father and isn't nearly as excited to meet her brothers. Chococaw remains oblivious and gushes over his tiny sons. Ambercall and Summerbreeze share a look on the opposite side of the nursery cave, both silently wondering when next the tom will show up with another batch of kittens.
-- Violapaw however is extremely excited to meet his younger sisters and spends much of the night letting them crawl all over him and joining them for a game of moss ball, getting the other kits to join in as well. Oakdawn & Sootnose become regular visitors as they check in on their daughters. The fathers become a welcomed sight among the nursery inhabitants.
-- Away from the caves the usual group of young hunters trek down into the dense forests and towards their favourite small pond. Once settled along the banks Finchheart starts his usual teasing of Birdpelt and the affection between the molly & Willowface. Birdpelt all but swats her bestfriend over the ears, much to the amusement of Rookdive who almost finds himself tumbling into the water after a shove from his bemused brother. Applefall & Beetleleap shake their heads at their friends' antics, though it seems quite obvious to Birdpelt the sisters share the same thoughts as Finchheart regarding her feelings towards the grey molly. Most of the night is spent teasing either Finchheart or Birdpelt, though both young hunters don't mind as much as usual due to the laughter beginning to flow from Applefall & Beetleleap - the night is a success!
-- the group is soon joined by Willowface and Flakestone, the littermates tailed by Coppermaw & Wispglow. Willowface is quick to settle in beside Birdpelt, while the rest of their friends snicker at the oh-so-surprising choice Birdpelt feels the familiar rush of warmth that the grey molly always seems to be carrying. Wispglow pouts at having her twin's attention stolen, but is drawn into a game of pebble splash against the rest of the group - in which she reigns superior. As the night goes on and the stars grow ever brighter, the youngsters quieten as they are all reminded of the new gap within their close-knit group, Coppermaw unable to keep hold on his grief over losing his sister. They collectively spread fallen petals on the shimmering pond in their own private remembrance of Daffodilsong.

LEAFBARE || The days are cold. The nights are long. Snow falls periodically, coating the grass with a frosty sheen of ice. It is perhaps the hardest season, but many agree it to also be the most beautiful. Hungry predators prowl through the forests, greedy enough to attack fiercer opponents for the slightest chance at a measly scrap to eat. The levels of sickness rise to an almost unbearable point, and most agree on one thing. Life is hard.

-- whilst out patrolling within the denser fog surrounding the banks of the lake, Sage can't seem to make sense of an ... oddness to the white mist. She remains doubtful and is certain she's simply seeing things after a restless night of little sleep. As thoughtful as ever, Domino breaks off from the patrol to investigate Sage's suspicions but returns only moments later to report nothing seemed amiss other than how dense the fog was growing. Sage decides to not needlessly worry anyone and doesn't inform Meera of their inspection.
-- Howler is beginning to feel like his mate may have a small obsession with collecting kits and promptly reminds Monty they aren't like a collection of pebbles, they have to be looked after and raised properly ... a decision to be made by both toms. The burly tom has a distinct feeling his words have been ignored.
-- Riley & Jarron are filled with nerves as the time draws incredibly near for the arrival of their kits. Both take a moment to breathe and share a sad smile as their thoughts drift to Bandit, though Jarron points out aloud he's certain the tom's spirit will be standing close by for the new arrivals to their family. It's enough to draw an affectionate laugh from Riley amidst her tears.
-- more usual cuteness with Duchess & Bourree
-- as the moon goes on there is an .. oddness to Domino that's beginning to concern Tulip each time her mate visits in the nursery. His eyes seem to be glazing over worse as the days pass, a cloudy-ness that heavily resembles the growing fog around the territory. Not sure what to do with the growing concerning nature of Domino, Tulip seeks out Ripple & Flick to inform the healers.
-- it seems the moment the healers focus on Domino the tom grows increasingly worse. There is barely anytime to monitor the tom's strange behaviours before his ever-weakening body convulses violently and barely a second passes by until Domino slumps in a heap on the medicine den floor. Ripple shares a bewildered look with Flick as the younger healer announces the tom has passed. It takes Ripple a long moment to call Tulip from the nursery and away from her kits, it's a heartbreaking silence after he informs the queen of her mate's sudden passing.
-- the news of Domino's death shakes the entire group due to the suddenness of his loss, and while Meera scrambles for an explanation Sage feels a dread wash over her. The young mist-walker can only think of her patrol where the tom had gone to investigate the dense fog due to Sage's suspicions, but she also distinctly remembers Domino having told her he didn't find anything amiss... but now he was gone.
