"Well, when you put it like that..." Eve pretended to weigh her options before rolling her eyes and padding straight past Ember. "Seriously...You know I hate being cooped up in camp all day." That was the only downside to being a healer. Warriors got to be outside all day to patrol and hunt, but there always needed to be at least one healer in camp, and usually there wasn't much need to go out anyway aside from gathering herbs, getting a drink or making dirt. She secretly wished she could at least be put on a border patrol once in a while, as an excuse to get out.

"Don't be modest," Stagheart purred in response to Lavenderpaw. "That was a skilled catch." Following her gaze to Splashpaw, he decided he might as well ask the young tom's mentor if they wanted to come along and bring their apprentice as well. "Go catch up with your brother and Paleflight," he told Lavenderpaw, before spotting Duskecho from afar and padding over to them. "Morning, Duskecho," he meowed. "Paleflight, Hazelnut, and I are all taking our apprentices on patrol. Would you and Splashpaw like to join us?"

Honeyshade parted his jaws wide in a yawn, casting his gaze around the steadily awakening clan to get a feel for who was doing what. Once he had worked out who was on the patrol for the morning - not him - he relaxed a little and set about planning his hunting route for later in the day, wondering if he could perhaps convince another warrior to come with him. He had a habit of straying into... undesirable hunting areas, often reasoning that if the territory was theirs then it was better to make good use of it, meaning he usually ended up hunting alone.

Tansy woke up a little later than most, opening her eyes that morning to an already busy and bustling clan. She wasn't all that eager to be awake just yet, and though she sat up and carefully curled her tail around her paws, she didn't plan to go anywhere.

Even after almost a year of this, Tansy wasn't as remotely used to waking up with so many cats as she thought she should have been. Though it brought her a sense of safety at night, she always felt rather odd in the mornings with the knowledge these cats had been awake before her while she slept, her guard down. Still, she supposed it couldn't be helped, and that it would provide more comfort in the long run.

Pigeon had woken up early that morning, eager for another busy day. She was quick to get to her paws, stretching out and only affording her pelt a few quick licks before glancing around the clan for any sight of Zaeru. She hoped to ask the other apprentice to go hunting with her; hunting with the older warriors could be good training, but hunting with other apprentices was a fun way to use energy and hone in on personal skills rather than taught ones. Unfortunately, she failed to catch sight of the oddly patterned tortie, and so instead got up to straighten out her nest before continuing.

indentation Side eyeing his tabby apprentice for a moment, the tom sighed then mewed, "Fine, but don't go wandering off without saying anything. This shouldn't be a long trip." Padding after the molly, he headed past a small gathering of their clan-mates and headed into the forest. As he trekked along he mentally went over his list. Dock, Horsetail, and Catchweed. It wasn't a long list, but it was enough that the tom had decided it was better gotten sooner than later. A few tree lengths from camp he stopped, set his bundle down, and with his maw, picked up a small rock that blocked a small opening between two larger rocks - boulders really. Quickly the tom placed the few herbs inside before placing the rock back. He glanced at his apprentice, "We're looking for Dock, Catchweed, and Horsetail specifically today, but I won't say no to Chamomile or Feverfew."

Arian mewed, before turning her gaze to Robin. "Maybe Robin and I could take one of the clan's apprentices out, and she can give us some tips." Pale green eyes glanced over at Zaeru as the apprentice approached, and purred a wordless greeting. Returning her gaze to Robin, she gave the molly a coy smile. " After all, I'd love to learn from one of our more experienced hunters. It would be terrible to miss such an opportunity." She purred flirtily at the rather grating she-cat.

Silent as the patrol was gathered, the pale-furred tom let his eyes wander, humming as he caught sight of one of his former apprentices; Snakestrike. He nearly grinned, that was one former apprentice that he could be proud of. Paleflight glanced at Foxpaw, this one could stand to do better. He thought before shrugging, though it could be worse.

indentation The dark-furred feline paused as the large green-eyed tom approached them. They quickly swallowed the bite in their mouth, then blinked at the offer. Glancing over at said cat's they sighed. "Not plausible. Or recommended. Six cat's in one patrol is big enough, but adding Splashpaw and I is going a little too far. We'd scare away any prey before we could scent it, much less see it. And we'd announce ourselves to any trespassers long before we'd find them." They shook their head, " I'm sorry but no thank you." Duskecho meowed, before quickly finishing the last of their meal with a few quick but large bites and fast chewing. They got to their paws and shook out their fur, "But I do appreciate the invite, Stagheart. Maybe next time?" They said, hoping that they hadn't offended or upset the tom.

Cloudspot couldn't help but smile and puff out her chest slightly in pride, happy she did her duty right. "Most will be out for patrols, just so you know since the apprentices wanted to go along with their mentors too. I didn't think it was a problem since we do need a lot more prey." She rambled, unsure what point she was attempting to make here.

Splashpaw blinked, waving goodbye to them as he finally got up from his nest. He was pretty much ready for the day at this point. Splashpaw made his way to the center of camp beside the nests and began to groom himself before his mentor would call him to begin training. Oh, I hope I can hunt today! Or maybe go on a patrol with Foxpaw? He thought, considering it.

Hazelnut eyes dulled slightly as she blinked, "Sure. But only if I go with you." She told the apprentice, flicking her tail for a moment, "Come one then, let's not make them wait." She added, heading out of the den accompaning her apprentice to the patrol group to begin their duties for the day.

Robin felt an aggressive growl begin to develop in her throat but she shook her head and smiled sweetly, "Absolutely. I'd be more than happy to teach a novice, or novices, the proper ways of doing things." She lifted her head regally and flicked her tail, "Unless... you'd rather teach yourselves?" She inquired, her smile turning into more of a small, cocky smile.

Buck nodded to the young she-cat, Zaeru, thinking for a moment. "Yes, you could definitely use the practice." He looked at the she-cats, noting that he had a big enough group for a nice hunting party. He craned his neck to look back into the cave at the waking cats. He noticed Oliver awake as well as his apprentice. "Oliver! Why don't you take your apprentice and some other cats with you to check out our borders. I want no scent of those Horizonclan rats at the border." He called to the other tom. He turned to Robin and Arian as well. "The five of us can go hunting for some extra prey and get some practice then." He added, trying to lift some of the tension between the two warriors. He was hoping this hunting trip would be a good bonding experience for some.

Meadowpaw smiled wide as her mentor allowed her to join the patrol. She trotted over to the large hunting party, joining up with the other apprentices. "Foxpaw, Lavenderpaw! You're both on the patrol too?" She asked eagerly. She kept flicking her tail and shuffling her feet. It always seemed like she had a lot of energy in the mornings while some were still just waking up.

She eyed the gathering cats there, not being invited into that patrol, but it didn't bother her at all. Stretching she shook her pelt before looking over to the fresh-kill pile, seeing that there was already a cat wandering there "Good morning Snakestrike, the pile seems low as always in the mornings" she spoke up looking at the pile.

He was up and ready for the day, almost. He didn't know what to do though, there were no rules in this clan and every pretty much did whatever they wanted. Only the leader's word was to obey, other than that they pretty much caught their own prey to eat. Luckily for now they didn't have any pregnant she-cats or kits, other way it could be common sense for them who can catch something for them to eat.

He was bored, yawning he rolled in his nest, making him messier than it already was. His belly rose calmly as he turned his back and looked up, heavily sighing. He was bored but didn't know what he could be doing he didn't feel like going to hunt, but maybe that could be the best way to consume time and maybe his new clanmates could like it if he actually did bring something back for them to eat too.

Buck didn't often address him personally, just as one of many, and his tail curled over his back as he contained his pride at being chose to lead a border patrol. "We'll get right on it." He acknowledged for himself, his apprentice Pigeon, and any other cats he'd pick.
xxxThe heavyset tom eyed the small molly eagerly looking over the crowd of mingling cats, and he trotted up to her. "Pigeon." He greeted gruffly. "We're going on a border patrol to make sure no HorizonClan rats have even thought about letting their stench cross into our territory." He wrinkled his nose, using Buck's perfect choice of words. The open prairie of HorizonClan territory always carried faint whiffs of reeking twoleg scent. He didn't remember cities fondly, and the mingling smell made him want to yarp like an owl.

Catching a glimpse of her mentor approaching, Pigeon was quick to straighten up and lick a few stray strands of fur in to place. She greeted him cheerily, having woken up in a particularly good mood that morning. "Oh, exciting!" Pigeon chirped, eager at the prospect of doing something official like a boarder patrol. Unlike most of the cats in Wildclan, Pigeon had no bad bloods towards Horzionclan personally - although she definitely hadn't been raised to think of them positively by any means. She opposed them more because wildclan, the cats she grew up around did, rather than any personal slight. "If there are any, we'll send them running right back where they belong in no time, right Oliver?"

xxxOliver appreciated the way that the little molly perked up. Respect wasn't an easy thing in this Clan, since it was founded on rogues and power grabs. A lot of seemingly simple values were hard to learn for older cats, so it was nice to see that something was being instilled in the youth. "They'll take one look at you and run, tails tucked like dogs. I think you should be the one to leave the scent marker too; get your smell out there to them, let them know when we fight, they should be afraid of you. After all, you're my protege, right?" The fluffy tom's whiskers twitched in amusement and he briefly bumped his forehead against her cheek before straightening up.
xxx"Any other cats interested in attending the border patrol, speak now. We leave with the hunting patrol." His voice rang proud and strong, and he made sure he was heard.
