With nearly 700,000 pets in the pound and a lack of anything new happening in a hot minute I think another event like the 200k member one is in order(basically the adoption timer is lowered and the pound releases ~1,000 pets at a time until it’s near empty). You could even rotate through both pets and items with the lost and found now being added. With CS being over 1,000,000 members there’s a lot of users who missed out and could use the chance to grab some old pets, and it could help revitalize the site a bit.

Id just like to say that the largest amount of users we ever had online was 4 years ago with 6 thousand people, I don't think 1million people still use the site. I do agree though, everyone has a better chance to get something of value if it opens like how you're suggesting

I know, but going from 200k accounts to 1 mil accounts is still a lot and I’m surprised they never did anything for more milestones. The site dying is all the more reason to try new events imo. CS is gonna be on life support soon if they don’t try something.

I'd just like to pop in and say that this is probably unlikely, a large part of the original reason for the 200k pound celebration was because of the frankly massive amount of pets the pound had absorbed (at least 2+ million in 2016, I assume more by the time that event happened in 2018). It was also the 10 year celebration for CS so that likely was a factor as well. At the time, the pound was gaining more pets than were being adopted out. That celebration was also part of a rehaul for the pound that starting the pound having more frequent and larger openings so that the number of pets would begin lowing instead of raising. Then end goal being for the pound to eventually even out so that it would gaining approx the same number that are being adopted out. I don't know the 'end goal' number of pets for the pound, but the point being that the purpose of the more frequent releases and whatnot is so large pound events are no longer necessary to help keep the numbers in check.

I'm also not sure how such a pound event is expected to spark more interest in CS as a whole. There might be an initial influx but I honestly doubt it would make any sort of lasting impact (I didn't notice any from the last pound event). I know people like to say a lot that we 'don't add anything new' and stuff like that. I could point out a number of new things we've added to the site in just the last couple of years, and all of them a lot longer lasting than an event that would be 1-2 weeks max. Maybe they don't make as big of a splash, but they are intended as long lasting improvements to the site to enhance the user's experience (which just personally I am more focused on).

Not saying its a bad suggestion or anything, I know everyone loves free pets and the userbase would be happy to see it. I really wouldn't mind seeing that sort of thing happen on occasion myself. I just wanted to also point out that its not what the pound was ever really intended for.

Semi-support. The amount of pets being sent to the Pound is lowering. Less pets are released each opening and it could become empty if an event like this was held. I can’t see this happening anytime soon, but if there is a sudden increase in the amount of pets being sent to the Pound, then I’d love to see this. <3

Personally I think the Pound has seen the most activity it ever has with the addition of things like Discord bots that can ping everyone in a server right before the Pound opens - I've noticed the Pound clearing out within minutes sometimes and it's definitely gotten me to adopt much more frequently. I agree that something needs to be done to revitalize the site, but I'm quite happy with the current state of the Pound. There should always be a surplus of pets.

I feel like if another pound event happened it would wipe out the pound completely. It currently doesn’t have nearly the amount of pets it used to have and it already closes super quickly because the pets are adopted fast. More people would end up unhappy if the pound got cleared out just for an event. Then really less people may get involved on CS.

I'm completely "in line" with @Celozon's Post/Arguments, and I would have a few more (Arguments)...:

- The last Pound Event 2 or 3 years ago was super-super-nice..., because of the unexpected Effect, at least for me...

- We "already" had last year (2021) x4 "unexpected" Events: 'Ramadan 2021' + 'International Dogs Day 2021' + 'International Cats Day 2021' + 'International Pandas Day 2021'.
All 4 came totally unexpected, ... and were completely nice... Maybe this year again, we "don't know"...!
... Well, I wouldn't be "surprised" if the 'Ramadan' mini-Event would return a bit regularly, fits a bit in the CS "Concept", trying to "please" different Cultures/Religions...

About the Pound itself, yep indeed 700k Pets in it, but those 700k Pets mean a steady Avg of 1200 Pets + 60 Rares + 6 VR's, => x2 or x3 per Day...
=> Do one Pound Event where 100k Pets get donated within 1-2 days, and you can lower all Values I mentioned to 50 Rares + 5 VR's.

@Tess and @Nick were "clever" enough to surprise us with the last Pound Event for CS=10, let them surprise us again for CS=12 or whenever they feel like it, I would say..., no need to "ask", a Gift is a Gift...!

EDIT: => Yep indeed, a similar Event for Items in the 'Lost & Found' could be an Option, "one day", if it comes "as a Surprise"... Can't tell how many Items the 'Lost & Found' currently contains, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's largely over 1M...

Support, I think it would be cool to have another pound event. ^^ (where you adopt every 15 minutes till a certain amount of pets is adopted) OR the same with the lost and found!

As much as I'd support that even if everyone's timer was still two hours in between adoptions, the pound would most likely be cleared out by a small group of people leaving nothing for newer/busier players. Someone brought up the discord bot which is another way the same small group could grab as many pets as possible. I love the way the pound functions in aywas (another pet game) where it's always open and timer is an hour but that's a totally different game. Pets are always constantly available because they can hatch from eggs where CS players are limited to a small amount which is only shrinking along with the lowering rates of active players. People would also be angry since it's possible for loaded players to just grab high demand/value pets from the pound leaving others in the dust. It's a great idea but just not for CS. I do wish something could be done to spice up the quite stale market but I don't think the pound is a good option.
