↪ Hornetwhisker | The patrol found evidence of a new cave that recently opened up on their territory, big enough from a glance to house more of their own. Deciding it'd be worthwhile to attempt some spelunking, the eight cats took a trip down to see if their suspicions were correct. While the cave was big, it was vastly unstable and the HazeClan cats were terrified when a clatter of mud and dirt came raining down on them. They thanked all the spirits of the Dark Forest that no one was grievously wounded, and that some cats were not as injured so they could help each other out of the wreckage.
- Hornetwhisker received a scratch on his left eye; requiring +1 blackberry leaves and +1 cobwebs for treatment, and a moon of rest for recovery.
- Flurrybreeze broke her front right foot; requiring +1 bindweed and +1 stick for treatment, and a moon of rest for recovery.
- Flycatcher suffered severe damage to her back left leg and thigh, and to her nose as she helped rescue the others; wounds that wouldn't stop bleeding long after she arrived to camp. She'll need +1 goldenrod, +1 horsetail, and +1 marigold for treatment and two moons of rest for recovery. She was also left with permanent scars from the encounter.
- Frozenpond sprained the muscles in his jaw, needing +1 broom and +1 elder leaves for treatment, and a moon of rest for recovery.
- Pikeleap gained a minor scratch on on his forehead and almost ignored the pain as he helped his Clanmates out. He'll only need +1 blackberry leaves for treatment.
- Puzzleblossom gained some scratches to her back and back right foot as she was trapped underneath some rubble, she'll need
+1 blackberry leaves and +1 dock for treatment and two moons of rest for recovery. She was also left with some permanent scars from the encounter.
- Voleforest gained some still-bleeding injuries to her back right leg, left eye, and nose from the mudslide and requires +1 horsetail, +1 marigold, and +1 raspberry leaves for treatment as well as two moons of rest for recovery. Luckily he was found by the rest of Cycadsneak's patrol, but despite all efforts to clean him up, he swallowed too much water and drowned...

↪ Zinniabloom | The scouts discovered a nest of untouched alligator eggs on their patrol, they carefully observed the area around them to make sure the mother wasn't nearby before deciding they were going to steal from the nest to destroy the eggs, and give the unborn hatchlings inside to ChaosClan as prey if they were developed enough. Halfway through the endeavor, Mynasong gasped in horror as the mother gator emerged from the water, its throaty bellow was the last sound the patrol heard as it charged for the cats and delivered some catastrophic damage...
- Mynasong and Azuregaze lost their lives against the alligator, their wounds too grievous to recover from...
- Zinniabloom gained an infected wound on her back and Blankscratch gained an infected wound on his left shoulder. Both need +1 burdock root each for treatment.

↪ Tempestrain & Hurricanepaw | Hurricanepaw learned the stealth skill!
- Hurricanepaw, distracted by grief for his grandmother and determination to succeed, got lost from Tempestrain as the pair headed home from training. Now in the middle of nowhere, the young apprentice became panicked as he aimlessly tried to find his way back to camp. Unfortunately for him however, he made his presence known to a ratty old rogue who wasn't keen on finding anyone on their land. Without much warning the rogue attacked, their strength and experience quickly overpowering Hurricanepaw. Just when the rogue got the upper-hand, Tempestrain burst from the undergrowth and attacked the rogue with an enraged and protective vigor, but Hurricanepaw fell unconscious before he could thank him. When he finally woke up back at camp, he was immediately enveloped by a sobbing Cirruspatch and Sunshinepaw. Sunflicker allows the family time to rest before he take a moment
to examine the scratches gained on his side, back right foot, and left thigh before informing Hurricanepaw that he'll need +1 blackberry leaves, +1 dandelion, and +1 cobwebs for treatment, and three moons of rest for recovery. He was also sad to inform the apprentice that his scars would be permanent.

She gulped nervously as the branch she chose to rest on groaned under her paws, and suddenly all she could hear was her and Lightningclaw's screams as she fell with the branch. She was still conscious, but in pain, and was quickly ushered back home when she could get back on her paws. She suffered scratches to her tail and left eye, needing +1 blackberry leaves and +1 celandine for treatment and requires a moon of rest for recovery.

Cloudytree curled around Foxkit as she lapped between her kit's ears, Foxkit fidgeting slightly, "Mom! Can't I play with Splashkit?" her daughter mewed. Cloudytree laughed and shook her head softly, "No, dear. Splashkit is resting, and she is far too young to play with you." Foxkit huffed as she stared at Splashkit's sleeping figure, curled against Marie's belly. Foxkit gave an overly dramatic sigh and plopped down next to Cloudytree, "But it's so boring here!" Foxkit complained. Cloudytree shushed her, not wanting to wake any other esquire or reine. Foxkit continued quietly, "Can I at least play with the weaklings?" she begged. Cloudytree shook her head, "They're too big for you, dear." Foxkit sighed. Cloudytree looked up in shock as Pouncewheat bounded into the den, Silksky right behind him. Pumpkinfright looked up, curled her kits closer to her belly, as Pouncewheat, out of breath, attempted to explain what was going on, "We scented rogues- like... a significant amount of rogues near camp. Don't let your kits out of the den or out of your sight." Lavapool gave a small whimper, and Wisteriaflight picked up Lavenderkit and placed the kit between his paws. Silksky and Pouncewheat turned to face the den entrance, blocking it from anyone entering or exiting. Cloudytree's fur was bristling along her back. Foxkit looked up at her with big, worried eyes, "Will we be okay?" She whimpered in a soft voice. Cloudytree closed her eyes and took deep breaths, then reopened them, "Stay quiet and stay with me, Foxkit." the tortoiseshell kit nodded, bristling with fear. It was silent aside from the wind howling, and Cloudytree fluffed out her fur. It unnerved her that the usually loud clan was quiet. Were her clanmates confronting the rogues? Then a loud snarl and teeth snapped, and Cloudytree was brought back to reality. Pouncewheat hissed as Cloudytree saw through the gaps between him and Silksky. Many rogues had entered the camp, with Tundraclan warriors attempting to fight them off. Cloudytree breathed a sigh of relief- Tundraclan easily outnumbered the rogues, but her heart stopped when she saw a second wave of rogues dash into camp.

Kiwiheart and Wintersneak joined Pouncewheat at the front of the Nursery. Duke hovered over Peppermintkit protectively, and Ratwhisker was comforting Catvoid. Crowcall looked ready to fight the rogues herself, but Peachflower gently led her away from the entrance. Silksky snarled as three rogues attacked the four defenders, and Cloudytree's fur bristled along her spine. Wintersneak batted a rogue away from the Nursery, but a lithe, slim rogue dashed in while he was distracted. Cloudytree hissed at the rogue, but before she could react, the rogue sliced her nose, and Cloudytree snarled. She leaped for the rogue, but it dodged her and grabbed Foxkit in its jaws. Marie ran to stop the rogue, but it dashed away from her. Kiwiheart toppled the rogue over, and Cloudytree ran to save her kit. The rogue slashed Kiwiheart's forehead, blood dripping into the black she-cat's eyes. She yelped, and before Cloudytree knew it, the rogue was gone- and so was Foxkit. She pushed past the cats at the entrance, but a tortoiseshell rogue snapped at her heels, drawing blood.

The ginger and white she-cat kicked the rogue away and looked around hurriedly, but she could see no sign of the rogue who stole her kit. The Tundraclan warriors were driving the rogues back till the rogues were gone, and the only thing left of them were bloodstains on the ground. Cloudytree yowled in despair. Ratwhisker and Peachflower ran up to her, trying to comfort the grieving queen, but nothing could be done to heal the wound of losing her only kit. Cloudytree collapsed, and through slitted, tear-stained eyes, she saw Morninglight run over to her and Swanpaw stare at her in intense worry. She felt nothing but grief. Foxkit, Foxkit, Foxkit.

Could she have done anything to stop it? Perhaps maybe if she were more observant, stronger, faster. She heard cats around her talk about what happened as Morninglight and the Permaqueens tried to comfort her. The rogues entered the camp, and it all went downhill- they stole prey, herbs, and her baby girl. Cloudytree sobbed as Peachflower and Ratwhisker let her lean against them, maneuvering her back into the Nursery. She collapsed in her nest, which carried Foxkit's scent. She dug her nose into the nest, desperate to remember her daughter's scent. Pumpkinfright looked as if she were about to comfort her, but Morninglight whispered something to her, and the curly-haired cat nodded and backed off. Cloudytree curled up, but she remembered Foxkit's little stone. Magnoliablossom found it one day on patrol and gave it to Foxkit, and the little she-cat had been obsessed ever since. She rummaged through the nest before she felt the smooth stone. It was hues of gray and shined as if the sun was inside it. She placed the rock next to her belly, curling around it. If she closed her eyes and thought hard enough, maybe she could convince herself she was curled around Foxkit, still safely in the nest. Her heart felt dull and heavy, and her mind was filled with nothing but doubts of what she could have done differently.

Just one month ago, the kingdom was founded with Osiris getting his tail handed to him by one outraged Sekhmet. The lioness took it a upon herself, to attack Osiris, at least spiritually not harming his physical body. Cursing him with four lives instead of the traditional nine, warning the arrogant feline to drop the name of a god, and take his humble given name.
Papyrus and Osiris cannot stand one another, Papyrus thinks Osiris is completely unworthy of the regiment. The doctor believes that the regiment is having power slips already at such an early start into the kingdom.
Sekhmet’s words haunt Osiris, what does the granddaughter of the lord of the underworld know about power? Papyrus already sees right through him, which bothers him. of course, been the chosen disciple of Imhotep, what more can he do but watch the healer closely.

It was a nice, sunny day. It had rained the night before, and there was some remaining dew on the grass, but both Weaselstar and Swanshine were walking in content silence with the warmness spreading through their pelts. The marsh beneath was sucking at their paws, but they moved through it easily with moons of practiced experience. Weaselstar was ageing. He knew it; he could feel it in his bones. Every morning it was a bit harder to get out of his nest without his joints cracking in protest. He wanted to go on as many trips outside camp while he still could. Krackenbite was busy with Slushstomp and Squidspots was off doing whatever. So, he and Swanshine went out together.
“How are you, my dear?” Weaselstar asked his daughter.
“It’s nice.” She purred “It feels so peaceful now, especially after the whole disease fiasco and the battle with the rogues. Newtsnap wants to try having a family.” Weaselstar could see a slight blush forming on her pale cheeks.
“That’s wonderful.” He purred in response “You know, I remember when I first met your mother. I believe it was at a gathering. Or maybe it was at the border. Either way, I can still feel the instant rush that looking at her gave me. I just hope you feel the same way about Newtsnap. He’s a fine tom. Droserathorn would be proud.” He felt his throat clench at the mention of his late best friend.
“Yea,” Swanshine said softly, leaning against her father’s shoulder “He would be.” The two fell into a silence once more, listening to the crows and the ducks up above. A heron was perched on a log poking from the surface of the muddy green water. The log twitched and the heron flapped away. Weaselstar paused his gait, narrowing his eyes at the bumpy log. Swanshine noticed his hesitancy and tilted her head.
“What’s wrong, dad?” She murmured, trying to step out in front of him, but Weaselstar wrinkled his nose and swished his tail in order to keep her back.
“There’s an-” His warning was cut short when an enormous alligator slithered up onto the bank of the swamp. It started to crawl along the strip of land where the two cats were standing. Its small eyes were beady, crooked teeth stretched into a wicked grin. The alligator huffed at them, wagging its tail slightly. Weaselstar and Swanshine felt horror freeze their limbs. They forced themselves to take a step back. Maybe they could outrun this gator. Their hopes fizzled away, though, when the other pockets of dirty water began to part, showing the ridged backs of a whole gator gang.
“Go back to camp.” Weaselstar whispered to his daughter.
“What?” Swanshine gasped “Wait, what-” She couldn’t finish. Weaselstar lunged with a hiss at the leader gator. He slashed its muzzle, scraping through the dense scales and cutting over its eye. It whipped its head back in fury. Weaselstar looked back, expecting Swanshine to be gone, but she was frozen in fear. The leader’s eye caught movement behind her. Another gator was sneaking up behind, jaws open and ready to chomp.
“Look out!” Weaselstar howled and dived at his daughter, pushing her out of the way. The jaws snapped down onto Weaselstar’s lower half. He wailed in agony as the reptile started to drag him off the pile of land and into the sucking water.
“Go!” He hissed at Swanshine “Leave! Run!” Swanshine shook her head.
“I can’t leave you!” She howled back in disbelief. She could hear the other predators closing in. Her father placed a paw on hers.
“Swanshine, darling,” He gasped, struggling to stay above water “I’m so proud of you. I love you so much. Please, I can’t let you die. Please go.” Swanshine blinked back tears and nodded, whispering a thank you. She turned tail and ran, just as Weaselstar fell beneath the water’s surface. She lept up to a ledge and scurried up a tree, frantically looking around for where Weaselstar went. There was a wake where the alligators were all thrashing. After a few moments, the water became still. Swanshine knew her father was dead for good, and RavenClan had lost their leader.

Weaselstar felt pain. Then a cold nothing. After a heartbeat, the cold turned to a pleasant warmth that nestled deep into his soul. Suddenly, all of the aches and pains melted away. He blinked open his eyes, ears falling as a field of flowered bushes came into focus. It was the Garden, he had been here before.
“I’m dead,” he realized out loud, to no one in particular.
“Yes,” murmured a voice, “you are.” There was no mistaking the voice. The deep Scottish twang to the words. Weaselstar’s head whipped up.
“Droserathorn.” He cried, leaping to his paws and rushing at the ginger tom who was making his way out of the shrubs. “Oh, stars! It’s so good to see you again!” The two collided in an embrace that held moons and moons of longing and loneliness.
“Nice to see you again, old friend. I should be saying how sad I am that you’re here to join me, but in all honesty it’s been so lonely without you.” Droserathorn purred. Weaselstar eventually pulled away, a concerned look on his face.
“What about the Clan?” He gasped “RavenClan doesn’t have a leader!” Droserathorn nodded to a clearing beside them. Chardonwhistle was surrounded by nine cats.
“Chardonstar will continue your legacy” Droserathorn assured his friend. Weaselstar didn’t look so sure. “You’ve done a spectacular job, old tom. But every reign comes to an end. You’ve earned your rest. They’ll be alright. Now come, there’s a lot of cats that want to say hello.”

all newly joining cats, as well as anyone showing no symptoms of sickness, are sent to a large cave in the south-western edge of the clan's territory to remain safe from potentially catching this mystery disease. in her absence, littermates valentineveil and redswipe are named temporary seraphim for this new temporary clan camp.

mockingbirdcall's death is mourned by the many kits that she surrogated as well as the others that she nursed and raised in the clan; pepperflash, dandelionfloat, solarstrike, and hexfling. her previous apprentice redswipe also mourns for her mentor. one such of "her" kits, cacophonyscreech, travels to keyclan to inform his littermate of their surrogate mother's passing.

- Arno huffed towards Animus, with Pyrrhus behind the two. “Can any of you scent anything?” demanded the male, which got a disdained huff from Animus.
“No!” exclaimed the collared feline. “I can’t smell anything.”
“And we won’t,” spoke Pyrrhus sharply, “if you continue yapping!”
Arno rolled his eyes before walking after the paw prints. The she-cat was making a brisk exit, but their energy would soon drain..just enough, for them to strike! Aha. Soon enough, they would find her.
Perhaps she’d even make a formidable colony member? It was rather interesting how she easily threw Animus off that ledge. Arno was glad they hadn’t been injured, though, was mad his newer friend had been taken advantage of like that.
Pyrrhus’s demanding voice spoke again. Honestly, Arno wasn’t all to happy with the Incisor, but he could understand it- if only a bit. They had just been attacked- well, only one cat had been- but it was still a threat. In their territory. Not a..good thing, to say the least.
The scent coating the ground soon appeared, and became strong enough the group didn’t have to rely on paw prints. Animus looked to Arno excitedly, though frowned when the male had already found the scent.
Ignoring this, Arno’s pawsteps grew quicker over the dew-covered forest grass and fresh mud. “C’mon. She can’t keep this up forever.”
“Neither can we,” grunted Pyrrhus. “Let's go faster, c’mon, before we lose her.”
“Yes sir!” meowed the tabby, with Animus merely glancing towards Pyrrhus with a frown. “This way, both of you.”
Arno’s paws turned from a trot to a solid lope, determined to find this she-cat. The scent was getting stronger, and the rustling of bushes could be both seen and heard from infront of them.
“Pause,” stated Pyrrhus. Arno stopped in his tracks, mud skidding out from beneath him. Animus approached Arno’s side as Pyrrhus took the lead. The scarred silver tabby approached where the bushes had shook, before growling aloud, “Get out here!”
The bushes shook again, where the face of an irritated, female dark-gray bicolor’s face poked out of the leaves. Her fangs were bared in irritation. “What?”
Pyrrhus looked down at her with a frown. “You threw my colony-mate off a cliff.” he stated, firmly. “Do y-”
She cut him off before he could say anything else. “Yes, I did. And I don’t regret it! It's not my fault, they were in my way!”
“It's our territory. You could have easily scented the markers!” the toms ears rose confidently. “Do you think you can just get away with this?”
“Nobody can just take a chunk of land for there own. There's what, like, five of you?” she snapped back. “The cats not hurt,” she waved a paw at Animus, who blinked back. “It's fine.”
“Bruised,” stated Pyrrhus. “It could have done much worse.”
“Wonderful. I was threatened- do you expect me to just do nothing about that!?”
“You weren’t threatened,” stated Pyrrhus. “Animus doesn’t even know how to fight, yet.”
The female narrowed her eyes. “I had my reasoning. You can’t judge me for that.”
The Incisor took a deep breath, exhaling before looking back to Arno and Animus. Arno frowned, watching carefully. He was rather surprised at how stubborn this female was; not accepting she was in the wrong.
“I’m going to ask you two to escort this female off Withered Fang Peak’s territory.”
The female’s ears flattened atop of her head. “You can’t just kick me out! I was probably here before any of you!” she hissed in hostility, long fangs bared. Sharp, glinting with the sunlight.
“I can,” stated Pyrrhus firmly. “Arno, would you like to go ahead?”
Arno’s head dipped gently, before walking towards the female calmly. “Do you need dragged, or will you walk yourself?” he stated firmly.
“I’m not goin’ anywhere. I’ll stay where I am. Say, what the heck is this ‘Withered Fang Peak?’ What a foolish name.”
Animus frowned. “It's um..our home? It has a god backing it, named Fang, so it's pretty cool.”
“A god, you say?” muttered the female, slinking out of the bush and standing up fully. Arno noticed she was taller than Animus, but a bit shorter than himself, and Pyrrhus.
“What is this ‘God’ you speak of?” demanded the bicolor.
“Fang.”
“I know of Fang,” she muttered. “He did tell me..once, in a dream, of some colonies uprising. Is that you?” her eyes narrowed towards Pyrrhus. The silver tabby merely nodded in confirmation.
“Than I’d rather like to join you. I’d rather be on a bigger groups side than outside of it.”
“Would you actually help our colony?”
“I can fight, and hunt. I don’t care what you want me to do.” hissed the female. “I’ll follow Fang, and to do that, I suppose I’ll have to follow..you. I expect something out of it, though.”
“Your name?” asked Pyrrhus, raising his tail. Arno was just glad they didn’t have to get in a fight.
“Call me Mineral.”

A pair of brownish, gray eyes blinked in the daylight. Black paws covered by a black, long tail, the owner of them looking for a certain someone. A silver tabby, to be exact. Eyes narrowing, searching for them.
As Imbe, the healer of the colony, passed by, the solid black molly raised a paw to get their attention. “Imbe?”
“Yes, Ravenus?” replied the medic.
“Do you know where Pyrrhus is?”
Imbe shook her head. “Unfortunately, no. But he's on a hunting patrol, he should be back before the sun reaches it's highest point.”
“Alright, thank you,” replied the female, scoffing. Her eyes rolled and she looked away from Imbe. Of course, that ‘work-harder-not-smarter’ feline was out. Again. He never was home, always looking for something to hunt or something to fight. It explained all the scars on his body.
“May I ask why?” muttered the medic, glancing down at Ravenus’s rather plump stomach.
“I assume you know why, stated Ravenus. “I've got kittens on the way.”
Imbe frowned. “You know we’re in no state to handle young right now. Pyrrhus will be giving you a lecture, you know that, right?”
Ravenus shrugged. “Whatever. I don’t really care what you’re ready for, and what you’re not ready for!” snapped the female.
Imbe sighed. “You’ll be the first cat I help deliver.”
Ravenus ignored Imbe, not really caring all to much.
“Whos the father?”
“Not that I’d tell you,” she hissed. “Nobody here, though, if that's what you’re wondering.”
“They have an outsider father?” questioned Imbe, raising an eyebrow.
“He’s of a different group- or clan, rather.”
“Which clan?”
“Why should I tell you!?” snapped Ravenus, baring her fangs. “Dear Fang, what's with all the questions?”
Imbe paused, huffing. “I just was asking. I’m the one that has to deal with the kittens when they come. I’d like to know as much as I can!”
“I’m taking a nap. Tell Pyrrhus, whenever that tom comes back, to wake me,” Ravenus almost seemed to order.
Imbe nodded as Ravenus stood, tail waving. As Ravenus walked away, she could hear Imbe mutter, “Sheesh.”

As light pawsteps filled Ravenus’s ears, her head moved up to look at the entrance impatiently. A lithe, black paw tapped against the stone ground, eyes narrowing as she paid attention to the opening before her.
Pyrrhus entered, his lithe yet muscular frame casting a shadow into the area. “You wanted to speak to me?”
Ravenus nodded with an amused huff. “No duh. I’ll keep it simple,” her tail curled around her paws, as Pyrrhus nodded. “I’m expecting kittens.”
Pyrrhus hesitated, ears flicking in surprise. “..now?”
“Yes, now!” hissed the pregnant female. “They’ll come soon, probably.”
Pyrrhus shook his head with a sigh. “We’re not ready for kittens, Ravenus. Our nursery isn’t ready and we don’t even have a solid food source yet! Do you really expect your kittens to thrive!?”
Ravenus shrugged. “I can figure it out. Kittens aren’t as vulnerable as you think, Pyrrhus.”
Pyrrhus sighed, shaking his head. “You’ll have nobody to blame, but yourself, if they don’t live past two months.”
Ravenus merely nodded, with a competitive smirk. “Oh, you wanna bet on that?”
Pyrrhus didn’t take the joke. “No.”
Ravenus could only roll her eyes as Pyrrhus turned around and padded out of the den, his paw pads clicking on the ground.

Arno’s black-striped tail waved behind him elegantly, looking down at a lilac-patched feline. Animus, the one whom had fallen from the rocks ledge- caused by Mineral, was resting. Eyes closing, than opening, before closing again. Slow blinks.
When Animus opened their eyes again, Arno used a paw to prod their shoulder. “Are you alright?”
Animus nodded. “Yeah. Bit shaken, chest’s bruised. Paws kinda hurt. But I’ll be fine, don’t worry.”
Arno hesitated before nodding. “Alright, good.” His tail moved to rest around his paws, the tip still flicking. “What do you think about Mineral being here, now?”
Animus chuckled in amusement. “I’ll forgive her if she apologizes. However, not before that. Yaknow?” Animus looked up at Arno with a small frown. “Though I don’t like how Pyrrhus just let her in.”
Arno nodded. “Though, he did the same with us.”
“That is rather true,” huffed the patched cat. “I suppose I can’t say anything, than, hm?”

A blue-gray feline’s paws gently pressed into the sand as he walked forward. A tabbied tom walked beside him, escorting him forward. “What's your name, again?” they asked.
“Dex,” stated the blueish tom. “What’s yours?”
“Names Arno. I’m a Canine of Withered Fang Peak.”
“I see,” muttered the tom, a bit confused. “What's that mean, may I ask?”
“I train those of a certain rank. Right now, I train the Molars.”
“What the heck is a Molar?” meowed Dex. He clearly didn’t understand this new group's slang.
“A Molar would be our guards,” stated Arno smoothly. “Then you have Hares and Squirrels- Hares are hunters, and Squirrels are trainee hunters trained by the Hare’s Canine. And other ranks I’ll let our Incisor, or Leader, explain to you.”
Dex huffed. “Whatever, I’ll try and understand when your Incisor tells me,” Dex paused. “I do like the sound of..the Hare rank, though.”
Arno nodded. “Many do. You should listen to the other ranks first though.”
Dex paused in his step, stopping where he stood. “Is your Incisor here?”
“He’s probably on patrol!” stated Arno. “You can interact with those around camp before he gets back. Sound good?”
Dex nodded as Arno nudged him with his tail, stepping forward. “Let's get going.”
Dex followed the more experienced male, who had frowned. “Hear that?” Arno asked, causing Dex’s ears to raise alertly. Surely enough, a wrinkle of leaves in the trees around him caught his attention. “Yeah.”
“Woah, really?” asked the Canine, stopping too. “I was..joking. What do you hear?”
“Bird in the trees.”
“Let's continue, hmm?” stated Arno. “We’ve got no time to climb trees.”
Arno, without another word, continued in the same direction. Dex watched him for a moment, looked back at the bird in the tree with narrowed eyes, before trailing off after him.
They swiftly separated themselves from the line of sand and trees, entering the beach completely. Dex looked at the river with a frown, seeing a few cats with paws raised and concentrating on the water. As he walked slowly, head turned to view them, he huffed to see them steal out a fish. Now, he didn’t really like it that much.
Fish weren’t aware of the predator, unlike a hare or bird- or squirrel was. They were peacefully swimming before bam, deprived of oxygen and then crushed. However, at least land critters were dead within a single squeak.
Maybe even less.
Arno’s tail flicked across his shoulder.
Dex continued, frowning. “Why do you hunt fish?”
“We hunt fish because we live by the coastline. Our home is just up ahead.”
Dex frowned but didn’t make another statement. He could tell that it wasn’t just a ‘you shouldn’t do that.’ type of thing. Oh well, he just..wouldn’t eat fish. Simple, right?

When the two made it to the camp, Dex paused. Next to the water now, his right fore-paw becoming rather damp, he could see what Arno had meant by camp. Several cats were fishing here too, some were chatting and even sleeping. How peculiar; he’d never think to see so many different cats, all at once.
“Go talk to someone. I’ll lead Pyrrhus to you when he's back. Please, try not to stir up trouble.”
“M-kay,” merrowed Dex, dipping his head as Arno strolled off. A lilac feline dashed out of an outcropping, smaller than both him and the Molar. Arno met him with a smile, and even Dex could hear the positivity coming from the two.
Not going to judge, Dex hopped up to stroll further into the camp. A few cats glanced at him, and one stood up to meet him mid-stride. The cat was a dark gray bicolor, a molly. Her eyes were narrowed as she stopped Dex in his tracks.
“Who’re you?”
“Dex. I’m waiting for your Incisor. I mean no harm-”
“No, no need for the ‘no harm’ talk. I’m Mineral. Are you joining our colony?”
Dex’s head dipped in a ‘yes.’ “Good! Gee, things were getting boring. I’m new here too. I defended myself and now everyone's super cautious of me.”
“..from whom did you defend yourself?”
“That cat over there!” a paw raised to indicate the lilac feline, still talking to Arno. “They were invading my personal space.”
“That's..unfortunate.”
Mineral nodded in agreement. -
