Trading is just as central to the site as forums and such and having a few ppl keep up-to-date with the trade scene and be able to help would IMO be a big help.

I do like this suggestion! Have you considered making a thread for it so people can show their support?

tbh i feel it kinda falls under this one + the scam one well enough where making a new thread kinda clogs up the suggestions JFDKSDHFGJD

Fair fair haha, though this is my first time seeing a suggestion for trade-related staff, definitely something that could potentially help out

    support this a lot

you make something visible to users when they’re trading, then they’re given the option to research and know where to find support on trades. there will always be ones that slip through the net (and hopefully can be caught by mods) but if the information is accessible, then everyone has access to the guidance. guidance is all we can give in an economy built on rocky foundations full of smoke and mirrors that is ever-changing and debated imo!!

edit because i was thinking about this as I fell asleep: if we have explicit “be careful” warnings around dec 18th, why not have a permanent (but potentially smaller) feature as a mainstay on the trading page?

The "Is this a fair trade?" Thread (easy to reference since it's already a pinned resource)
The 'How much is this pet worth in C$?' Thread!
The “How much is this pet worth?” Thread!
"How Much Is This Item Worth"?
These are just the threads addressing value, other helpful threads like Guide to CS Rarities could be included either in the same or a separate guide.

I’m always losing these threads, even if I bookmark them, as I have a lot of bookmarks lol. I would love it if these could be stick'ied!

Yep, same with me, it each time takes me quite a while to find those Threads back, (and I already know they exist...!), ... because they are all 4 located in the (General) "CS Discussion" Sub-Forum while I always expect to find them all 4 (pinned) in the "CS Trades - Pets, items and C$" Sub-Forum, ah-ah...! :?

I support, as a returning player I had to ask other users for self help threads because none were listed where they are easily accessible.

Politely crossposting this here also bc it relates to user-made trade resources

to be slightly more helpful here's a further suggestion: moderate the FTT and STT more closely. Incorrect advice and values are against the rules in both but users giving deliberately bad advice continue to be free to post despite reports and others correcting them. This is not a new instance, but another case where having some dedicated trade mods would help.

Of course everyone is incorrect sometimes and users shouldn't be banned from giving advice over one mistake! However if an user continuously gives incorrect advice that gets veto'd/corrected by others something should be done to keep the threads helpful and productive.

I agree misinformation is rampant and I think trade mods would be very helpful.

Would like to bring support to this thread as well, since the one it was based on was locked with no real conclusion. I hope that we can find solutions to improve CS by helping new players and reducing the scamming problem. Improving trade information accessibility would be a great step in the right direction.

Agreed. I see incorrect advice given on the FTT often and as for the STT, people posting either unfair trades(valuing their pets 2x it’s worth or posting trades that were obviously overpay) or posting bids which I think either of those should’nt be posted there, to save confusion.
