I think discussion should be more centred on these suggestions and possible implements, improvements to the suggestions, etc. rather than bashing the staff and debating the semantics of scamming? I have my own suggestions to combat the scamming issue, I just didn't like how this thread was full of these things.
No one is bashing staff. (I didn’t see the lazy post post). We are telling the truth about how nothing is being done even though it’s been reported so many times. There has been many great suggestions and I don’t see why it’s bad to discuss the issue itself.

@Halsie including the posts that were removed, threads regarding rule issues tend to get very heated and accusatory towards staff. It's fine and should be encouraged to criticise and provide feedback, it is not fine to directly or indirectly attack them.
@This Is Halloween still not sure what you're suggesting. Is your suggestion just "staff should do better"?

Electronia wrote:I feel like the suggestion to add the 'Is this a fair trade' link to the trading thread is the valid suggestion.
It's a way to remind players to check values while trading.
I also want to add, it seems like the trades this refers to are blatant scams, where there are random values or completely unfair values, rather than "subjective" values.
Scam:
5 UCs for a 2009 VR.
Subjective:
A 2010 rare for a zodiac dog
please let me know if I'm wrong
my apologies but, the FTT hasn't always been reliable. many of the posts are asking for help with very minimal people responding with actual advice. then, there are people who give out misinformation entirely. you cannot deny the fact that the majority of the playerbase agrees for established values. then, there are people who will purposefully push and inflate those values and suddenly people try to make that the norm.
trading on this site has always been a mess. but the site heavily punishes new users for not knowing their values when trying to search for said values is abysmal. we need structure and we need better support from moderation when it comes to getting scammed. the whole issue seems to revolve around the fact that we're in too deep to establish a concurrent value system because if a new system is established it may massively downvalue stuff. despite that, however, this site desperately needs that. the fact that nick and tess refuse to give out information regarding how many of each pet there is hurting the site immensely.
all we ask is that moderation cares just slightly more when it comes to scammers. people voice out their complaints about existing scammers yet nothing is done. we can't even warn users about scammers unless we want to face consequences that we shouldn't. it doesn't help that already existing moderation has been accused of scamming/ninjaing in the past. we just ask for more structure and more sense of stability when it comes to trading. people have poured their time and money into this site, it is only right that it feels even slightly compensated.

When talking about the FTT, note that it’s a subjective source and always has been. While I do help there and take information from there when I can, it’s important to note that, at the end of the day, the FTT is just a place for traders to post their opinions on potential trades. Some people may be misinformed and post inconsistent values, or values not up-to-date with the current trading economy, and while they’re not doing the wrong thing (their heart’s in the right place!) they are indeed giving ‘incorrect’ advice. I’m not sure how much linking new players to the FTT could help where the FTT is an entirely user-run resource built upon personal opinion.

This signature needs to be redone, and I am far less active on CS than I was 2-3 years ago. Please understand.

This Is Halloween wrote:It’s staffs responsibility. as stated in the official cs rules, scams should be reported to staff so they can ‘do something’ about it.
Do not scam other players. - You should never intentionally mislead another player about the value, true date, or identity of pets, items, or C$.
- Accepting a trade when the message your partner sent shows it was not intended to be ready to accept OR refusing to reconcile the situation when the trade message shows that your partner accepted the trade in error is a type of scamming and is not tolerated.
- Let other users know why you feel that a trade is fair/unfair and be honest if it is based on your personal opinion. This protects you from accusations of scamming!
- If you feel you have been scammed CS staff can help and have the power to reverse trades if a scam is proven. Do not contact the user you traded with or post about it on the forum, just contact staff privately.
The current discrepancy on this thread is whether ninja trades are scams; in the context of our official rules, they are not.
Users are always welcome to share criticism and feedback in a respectful manner. Name-calling is neither of those.

support. i do believe that there will be users that will try and abuse the system, though.
ive experienced being scammed/ninjad on cs, and other games.
i always remember being told "it's just pixels." yeah...pixels i actually worked for to earn.
the FTT may not always be helpful either. sometimes users go weeks without responses because their question gets lost in the forum, and people may not know the answer(s). values of pets kind of varies based on everyone's own opinion, but there is still a bit of a "set" value. for example, the eat me/drink me dogs tend to be worth around 6 or 7 nons. though some may not see them as worth that much, and are only willing to pay maybe 5 nons, and dont see the value to be that high. so values are really kinda subjective. i hope that made sense sobs
take it easy, you deserve it.
i love trades!

I don’t know what you’re trying to gain here. We are addressing a problem that’s been around for far too long. Obviously we are going to be passionate about this issue because it affects a great deal of people.

that’s what I’ve been saying the entire time. Why should we keep repeating ourselves? Either the trades should be observed and reversed when it’s an obvious scam or we get rid of values, demand and rarity tags.
