agreed with this part. identifying things like mental illness especially in your profile should not be public, as people should have no right to know that kind of personal information. if it's an explanation for communication skills and the like i may understand it but there are still other ways to go about explaining that without revealing what your mental illnesses are. i digress though, while i still passively support DNI lists staying in carrds/listos as long as they are not malicious in nature/not targeting someone in particular [jessica rabbit put a lot of my thoughts into words] it's a new day and i can see where a lot of supporters are coming from, but not quite the people who are calling it petty

I have a concern that with us being unable to state of we are a minor or an adult is going to cause further risk to vulnerable people
And I fear that without a boundary list, it gives people with, bad intent to try and reach out to those they can see are vulnerable
And I don't think it's fair to the adults on this platform who want to only interact with other adults or minors who don't want adults talking to them
It opens up the risk of inappropriate conversions with adults and minors. (There are adult only forums that minors might now be able to access with the new rule of no ages in their bios)
It's worrying to me and I'm sure a lot of other adults on this site agree

Also... I was thinking about it and does this rule also apply to people who use sentences like "anti-hoarders"; "do not support hoards"; "do not trade with me if you hoard" etc?
I don’t believe that was allowed in the first place

i see it a lot honestly, at least, anti hoarders, so either its allowed or the mods dont do anything about it
Tbh I think there are a lot of rules here that don’t get enforced at all. I read all the rules when I joined and saw “don’t say if you’re a student” and I see people doing that constantly, even having it in their signatures. There are even megathreads talking about being students

There shouldn't be inappropriate conversations on CS in the first place.

{minors have always had full access to CS forums, including the 18+ ones. That's why the rules make a point of keeping everything child friendly even in adult conversations. CS is and always has been populated by users of every age and they've never been allowed to state their age-- that's not a new thing.}
{The real concern is people who see that someone is a minor-- because they say so on their profile-- and target them, because a kid wouldn't know better. Of course it makes more sense to not allow ages to be posted. If you don't know someone's age, why would you think to target them? How can they be vulnerable if they aren't allowed to share personal information like that?}
{As stated earlier methods are already in place to act if something, even in DMs, becomes inappropriate and / or harmful towards minors. Anyway, if you're on CS and you don't want to interact with minors or adults, either you really shouldn't post on forums at all or CS just isn't going to be for you. Because, again, there are people of all ages here-- always has been.}

It's kinda hard to go on a mostly minor-filled site and demand that nobody under tha age of 18 speak, or interact with you. At least that's my opinion.
Plus, regardless of age, inappropriate conversations are not allowed on cs. Even between adults. There are websites that allow adults to only speak to adults and say DNI for minors there. CS is a family friendly website, for everyone.

Inappropriate conversation was the wrong word to use, I'm talking more, there are topics that are spoken about in here that minors should not be taking part in, such as a lot of topics I have seen within the adults only section. I have always made sure to only interact with people that have stated they are an adult in their bios. For my comfort
Another point I want to being up is that I see people with profiles that state opinions that directly attack and threaten my way of life. Am I not allowed to ask for them to stay away?

If people have bios that threaten you, you should report them to cs staff(as long as it's against the rules). Then they will stay away.

Anything that directly attacks you should be reported.
Any topics that are unfit for children should be reported.
