personally i agree and support this idea and i see your point. back in 2018 i've been scammed so many times and even now people are trying to send me unfair trades even though i don't own any lists
but you left the important part of this
what are we going to do about this? if it was so easy to protect the users from scammers, i think we would have found that out.
we cannot even make a list with users trading unfair :

and thus i've come to a conclusion that if we aren't allowed to name drop, they SHOULD link at least the Fair Trade Thread or Guide To CS rarities every time you get the trade.
Just like that.

really looking forward to make CS better.

I love this idea too! I know CS doesn't want any kind of namedropping, which would make warning people about scammers really difficult, but this is a solution that can help too.

I would want this to include common signs you're getting scammed, instead of avoiding the issue like it doesn't exist and only addressing it on december 18th.

That's a good idea actually. Maybe they could have some kind of indicator (besides the rarity bar) to show how much a pet is worth. List pets could be marked as high demand or something. It would also be a good idea to mark UR pets somehow so newbies don't trade them away for garbage on December 18th. I almost did that once.

^ Another thing that I think is ridiculous is not being able to say WHO the scammers are so others can avoid them or be on the look out. It’s not a personal attack, in my opinion of course. It’s literally the truth and it’s looking out for others. If staff doesn’t do anything to stop the scammers, I don’t see why us players can’t publicly tell people about scammers. (I’m aware of the rule and I’m not encouraging anyone to do so.)

honestly i think accessibility of resources is a big issue with this. unless you literally dedicate hours of your time to learning terminology and values it is quite impossible to get involved in trading high valuables - and if you do happen, as a newb, to obtain a high value pet or god forbid item through other means, you are going to get taken advantage of 9 times out of 10.

most resources on the website are user run - there is virtually zero communication between cs and its members regarding actual values, so players are left to build these by themselves - i think a well-managed thread that documents high value trades is necessary, an active and well moderated FTT, support for guides which rely on OBJECTIVE data such as Horror's List, which orders pets based on documented rarity changes, etc.

honestly, centralising guides and trading threads, making them more accessible to newbies and returning players is crucial.

It is not another users job to inform others of the value of their pet. I have not finished reading, I just wanted to point this out.

I disagree.

Informing someone about the value of their pets because they're sending massive overpay is just common decency.

Massive support.

yes and especially because ex list pets are worth so much nowadays, for newer players this would be devastating for them : , ( Every time I trade with someone I have to go look on like 3 different threads to make sure they aren't scamming.

While I am very worried about scamming and want to find a way to solve the problem, I'm unsure if a public blacklist of those who more commonly do so would do more good than harm. These are still people, and I feel that they might get 'witch-hunted' or harassed. I don't wish that on anyone just for sending unfair trades.

I agree it is really big issue. For the last couple days I've been trying to get my hands on a dragoncat PPS(usually valued at .25 non) (I understand this is avery popular pet) and everytime I've made a post I've recieved a trade from a user asking for .5 non, I'm okay with overpaying but I don't want to double their whole worth. I suggested less pets saying I didn't want to trade .5 non
they replied by declining the trade and stating "then im not intrested sorry pps cat dragon is rising. have a nice day tho". I get wanting overpay but they are literally inflating the value of the pet. They later sent a another trade valuing the dragon PPS at .5 non saying this "i recently got .5+ wort for my last pps cat dragon (as seen below) so im willing to do this?
link to trade". This is absurd, I'm only upset about this because if I was a very inexpirenced player I would have payed double the worth of the dragoncat PPS because they make all these claims of it being worth .5 non and even citing a trade. Am I crazy? Or is the Dragoncat PPS really worth .5 non???
