For those of you that still remember the time before they became staff:
How has the amount of messages or trades you get evolved from before being a staff to after? Have you been getting more or less of them? Do people tend to be more polite? Or has there really been no noticeable changes?
Because from a non-staff perspective, it's always quite impressive receiving a trade from a staff member haha, the colored name really has something that makes your heart stop for just a second-

I feel like I get about the same amount of trades as I did when I was a regular user. I have noticed I do get more gifts though, a lot of them are super sweet thank you's for helping out on CS which I really appreciate <3
I have noticed that the red name especially scares people a lot. When I PM someone about a commission or to chat, I get the occasional response saying they had a heart attack from seeing my name lol

What is your favorite pet you designed?

As an oldie/veteran (That was 10 years ago already??! ) player who's recently rejoined the party, these questions go out to my veteran staff; Have you ever left and thought it would be permanent? And if so what brought you back? How has it been for you guys throughout the years, seeing everyone on the site grow up? Seeing new, baby players figuring everything out must be pretty fun too! Who's been the saddest you've seen go, staff-wise? What do you miss most about old CS? What do you see for the future of the site?

Also open to all staff, what are your best and worst memories of the site? I'll go first, one of my best memories of the site has to be the kindness everyone has shown throughout the years, that's definitely a reason that I still find myself back here as often as I can ♥ ^^ One of my worst was when I accidentally posted art theft back in 2011, I believe Tess sent me the report or something and I remember just staring at my laptop and crying so hard!! I was a pretty stupid kid who didn't know that referencing pets was bad, and I remember thinking "Tess hates me! I'll never be staff now!"


Also will there ever be another CS booth at a con?? I remember seeing all the pics from Anthrocon back in the day and I was sooo super jealous, I'm pretty sure I begged my mom to take me but she said no

I don't consider myself a veteran player but I'm someone who left for three years and came back. I had initially joined in 2015, at the recommendation of a friend, (No idea if he's still on here), but I really only played for a few months and stopped playing halfway through the candy event. I had forgotten about CS until 2018 when I remembered it out of the blue, and figured I'd check out the Halloween event so I rejoined with a new account and boy did I miss it.

There isn't really any sadness about staff leaving from a staff perspective as we all do keep in touch quite frequently. There is sadness associated with no longer seeing your favourite artist making art, but they never really leave.

I have no idea what to expect for the future of CS. The environment is unique and well put together and has a very consistent niche so though public forums are becoming less common I think CS is just going to keep getting stronger.

My average day on CS as a GH is a lot of forum hopping. I love jumping around the art shops making sure everything is in the correct forum and getting them moved if they're not, responding to help tickets, checking out the questions and discussion forums to see if there's anything I can help with. I've been keeping an eye in the GHAA as well so if there's a pet release I adopt for that page.

My best memory would absolutely be the day I found out I'd be becoming a GH. The PM from Simon made me so excited and I've tried to keep that excitement every day since. I'd applied a few times for various roles and I didn't think I'd make the cut as hopeful as I tried to be so it caught me way off guard. Like I still have all of the PMs!

My worst memory, I had made this account because I couldn't remember my username or password for my old one and a lot changes in three years so I was a different person, but within my first few hours memories started flooding back and I remembered a Percy Jackson RP I was part of and my character's name. I was able to search it and found my old Username allowing me to recover my old account. So I sent a ticket about transferring my pets from 2015 over to my new account and got a little too excited while waiting so I went ahead with it before I had gotten permission and transferred everything over. I definitely got a warning for that and I was a bit nervous that record would prevent me from going anywhere but here I am.

I've never left CS for longer than a couple weeks at most. I joined because a friend introduced me, and I fell in love immediately. I've not really seen any staff leave, since I'm still new (except for the recent staff changes), but I agree with Odd in that we all still talk to each other so no one is ever really gone!

My average day is going through all topics in the Suggestions + Help boards and answering all questions I can, as well as welcoming newbies to the site. Then I check help tickets, PMs, and trades. After my duties (which I honestly have fun doing), I browse forums, send trades, make art, and do some other fun regular user stuff.

Best memory has to be a three-way tie. The first would be my 2017 Secret Santa gift from Lacuna. It made my entire year and I even cried a little. It had dreamies and I still have all of the pets and items. The second would be when I was accepted to be a mod for Adopt A Newbie! It made me feel that much closer to being a Real Staff Member™! The third one would be the day I got the PM from Simon telling me I was officially a General Helper! It made me so so happy.

Worst memory has to be the many times I made mistakes on forums and Oekaki boards. When I applied to be a GH I was terrified that my past warnings wouldn't allow me to become a staff member, but here I am! As a regular user throughout the years, I always regarded staff as the gods of CS. Now I know we're all just regular people doing what we can to help out other regular people :)

I've never left the site - just lost interest in it for a short while (several times). During that time I wasn't as active, maybe missed a day or two of pet growths, but that's all. Since CS is generally a pretty chill game I never felt like I had to come online, so I only came here when I actually wanted to. Was definitely very active during every event though, I never missed one.

Really missing a handful of old staff members. Ethulai, Swiftalu, raey, Anouki just to name a few... I'm still in contact with a few others, so I don't miss those (hi Jay & ZEL!). =)

My average day is nothing special - a quick check of pet growths/pound/trades/PMs, then looking at reports/tickets. I'll do those whenever I have time throughout the day. Sometimes more, sometimes less.
My worst memories all have to do with specific users. It was all very unpleasant and I'd rather not tell what happened there. =/ Let's just say some thought they could do whatever they want to make others miserable.
Best "memory" is meeting my best friend via CS. ;>

I would make a fluffy golden retriever with soft brown eyes! Just like my former pet <3

My favourite litter has to be the cryptid horses from March 2021, I LOVE cryptids!
