abilities. lysan is well versed in a very particular branch of nature magic, a rather unimposing
skill at first glance, that being his ability to summon, read and influence insects. due to
this, it isn’t uncommon to see butterflies happily tailing after lysan in his times of leisure.
additionally he is able to use them to spy and ease drop on conversations while going
completely unnoticed. as well as enchant them with healing magic to ensure the safety
of his allies when the butterflies happen to be around. unfortunately the drawbacks to
this are numerous, the butterflies themselves are delicate and easily killed, shimmering
a distinct blue if enchanted, and eventually fizzle away once their enchantment has been
broken. additionally, he must keep his emotions in check in order to control them to the
best of his ability. and the healing magic used, while strong, often drains lysan's energy,
if used to often he can fall susceptible to becoming unconscious or sick himself.
with the aid of his tome mistilteinn, lysan can preform a decent amount of magic that he
would otherwise be incapable of casting, far beyond his simple fairy magic. namely,
focusing on the practice of healing and defensive magic that can better protect and aid
his allies. unfortunately, when stepping outside the lines of certain spells he has yet to
rehearse, his magic can become somewhat volatile and dangerous, most notably if he is
unable to control his emotions. requiring extensive studying and knowledge on the spells
in order to master, lysan has yet to grasp the full immense power at his fingertips, and
has little confidence he ever will be able to do so.
personality. with a disposition as gentle and delicate as a butterflies wing, lysan is
a fairy who often goes underestimated in terms of his resilience and strength. though his
knowledge in nature is vast, he himself knows little of the outside world, and can
sometimes come across as gullible and naïve in his ways. to say he often feels out of his
element would be an understatement, regardless, lysan has a great determination and
interest in obtaining knowledge, and has a lot more of a wit than he lets on. he can often
be found with his nose buried in a book, taking in all he can to better understand the world
around him, and the magic he has been gifted with. he is a selfless fairy, putting others
before himself which has only strengthened his desire to specialize in healing magic. he is
a kind soul, but because of his giving nature is also quite prone to being manipulated.
using his fondness and connection with nature to help him understand the other races,
he is quick to avoid those who mistreat insects, showing fear towards individuals who
would harm them. he also tends to associate people with certain insects to better
connect with them, which can unintentionally come across as insulting if a person is
unaware of his positive outlook on the little creatures. due to his love for literature,
he is quite the wordsmith, though he seems more keen on showing off his eloquence
to his bugs than other people. regardless he tries his best to treat everyone with
kindness and respect, only showing spite towards those who hurt his allies or his bugs.
