Through thrumming purrs and throaty trills - delicately transforming word into archaic song - the tales of a long dead clan pass into the paws of fledgling warriors eager to join the ranks of fellow starlit leaders. Among the softer and more lullabylike stories of kits venturing off to find a stash of golden treats, there are more in-depth records depicting the predestined rise of a new king, clawing his way out of a dark muddy hollow into the light, glory shining down upon him. By far, this fable had been spoken on more tongues than any other, as this was the one that started it all.

It was said that the once and future king had been born in a land constantly shifting, made up of cold stone stitched together with threads of lichen, moss and vine. Nestled in and knotted tight against the base of their trees, a distorted path of roots guided the way deeper into the forest, stunningly sturdy against the onslaught of an untamed river. A piercingly cold wind bit at the heels of trespassers, riding high above the torrent below and offering sanctuary only to those with long or thick coats. Pillars of water-stained bark marked the main shape of the king’s territory, but it is said he claimed the nearby rise of whitecapped peaks, as well.

Among the hoard of challengers savagely beating their way into the heart of the king’s territory, beasts of unbridled strength and ferocity roamed the land. Feisty coyotes flitted through the trees, eager for their next meal, while the burly-coated puma passed unchallenged through its mountain range. It was in the calmest of waters that the most savage resided, lurking in the depths, waiting to attack. It is said that the king had not only fought these beasts, but emerged from each fight victorious and more powerful than ever before. If not for his preference of round-bellied voles, it is said he would have feasted on the spoils of these battles for many moons.

There is little known of the camp the king had originally developed - facts long since lost to fiction, as it were – but it is said that an unusual tree made of light shaded him from the day’s hottest suns and sheltered him from the season’s fiercest storms. The warriors he’d nursed and led into battle were said to have carved out their dens from the circle of rocks encompassing the tree, once having intended to simply hone their claws in preparation for the next victory before settling into the art of crafting a home. As the clan was swiftly moved into a true palace soon after, little else can be brought up about the king’s first refuge.

There was no barrier presented to those seeking sanctuary from the world outside the king’s land. Anyone was welcome to a warm bed and a meal of fresh kill. The king’s attitude towards outsiders was friendly, and his charisma worked a charm to invite permanent residents of his newly founded kingdom. Loyalty may have been hard-won, what with the way many had been treated before stepping past the kingdom’s threshold, but it held steadfast and strong through even the darkest of days. Alliances were commonplace between the kingdom and fellow upstart clans, but enemies even more so. Forsaking his place in an already established empire had rubbed a few pelts the wrong way. There was rarely a day a battle did not occur but, evidently, their place in history had been won.

A patrol can be sent out next moon to check the status of the rogues, or they can be left alone and see if they potentially leave on their own. ]

[ Blazefang's patrol seems to be easygoing and relaxing, until Eiderpuddle hushes the group and puffs out his fur, scenting the threat of a fox. The patrol circles into one another, trying to protect all members, when a streak of orange disturbs the terrain, leaping into view. The cats cast a battle cry into the air, Blazefang and Anacondapath leading the charge and demonstrating magnificent moves against the agile fox. The fox, however, seems to enjoy this little 'game,' at least for a few moments, a glint in its eyes as it locks onto a target - Duskwhisper. They see the wild look in the fox's eyes too late, and the predator rushes at Duskwhisper in a flash, delivering fatal wounds to the cat, though not without paying the ultimate price from Eiderpuddle and and Mikey, fueled by the grief and rage of losing their clanmate... ]

As Lionstar brought a new cat home, she was smiling uncontrollably. She had even more cats entering the Clan. She decided that she would take the time to hang out with her beloved deputy, Spottedfur. Her and Spottedfur have grown very close since they settled into the Clan's forest. As she lie down in her nest to rest, Spottedfur entered, dropping prey at her paws. She smiled back at him as he left. Foxspot organized a patrol in the meantime.

Actions:

As the sun rose, a pale blue cat woke up. This was the first time they had slept in a safe place since, well.. long ago. These caves began to look more friendly by the minute - spiteful shadows and scary spiders had turned into a beautiful cove, illuminated by various salt rocks, some of which shone in colors. Since this was their first day here, Mothstar decided to prance around and explore - they'd need to get enough prey to last them a while. Okay, maybe a bit more than enough. You can't blame them though, right? Mothstar just wanted someone new to talk to after, well, escaping from the horrible, horrible place they used to live in. The shelter in which they'd stayed was not the most welcoming - cats were just fighting eachother everywhere and for everything. You wanted to be alone? Fight to get everyone off your back. You wanted to sleep? Fight for a space to sleep. As you may guess, that's not a very... welcoming place for a young, naive kit. Mothstar had spent most of their kithood haphazardly defending themselves from others and now.. now was their time to shine. They'd had made a long, long journey with the help of a few cats who'd promised them they'd meet again - and Mothstar had met the stars. It had been cold, a long, cold winter, and Mothstar was glued to the last few burning ashes of a twoleg fire - just like a moth to a flame, they'd shriveled up and succumbed to the fleeting thought of a forever home in the stars, however, just however- a star in the night heeded their call and chose to ignore it, sending Mothstar on their merry way, with the promise of freedom just a teeny, mouse-sized bit away. Mothstar listened and ended up finding this beach, filled with caves that reached out in many, almost unlimited, ways. Jeez, just marking them down is gonna get boring soon...

all newly joining cats, as well as anyone showing no symptoms of sickness, are sent to a large cave in the south-western edge of the clan's territory to remain safe from potentially catching this mystery disease. in her absence, littermates valentineveil and redswipe are named temporary seraphim for this new temporary clan camp.

rootwillow is mourned by her single remaining kit smokepounce, whose father smogtongue tries to comfort him.
cranberryswirl has no family to really mourn him; but his mentor caribougaze does mourn him.
candleflicker passes away and has no one to really mourn her.

bluesplatter appears to get better with the herbs. aside from alreay being mute however, she loses hearing in one of her ears.
cecropiaflight, nebulaburst, dianthusbounce, & violetear do not appear to get any better with herbs, and in fact, appear to get worse.

𝐁𝐢𝐥𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐲𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐧

BilberryClan is a group of cats located in the moorland of Northern Europe. They are named after a common berry found in the shrubs of moorland, the bilberry.

BilberryClan cats are commonly thinly built with short, earth coloured fur. They are known to be very private with clan life and tend to keep away from the outside population. When BilberryClan cats come across others, they usually act in a peaceful manor, avoiding fights and brawls. Due to BilberryClan being so far from twolegs, the majority of cats originate from long lines of rogues and loners.

BilberryClan isn’t very welcoming towards cats wanting to join, it normally takes some begging for them to be allowed to join. They are very cautious and aloof to new members, and if enough cats believe they are cruel, aggressive or a spy of some sort, BilberryClan will drive them out. On average, it takes about a moon or two for the clan to give new cats the okay, and officially welcome them.

Camp is located in the center of the territory, and is surrounded by heather. Most of the dens are quiet camouflaged and appear as regular shrubs, though the shrubs really conceal nests. Plants inside camp have all been dug out, so the inside of camp, the ground is soft soil and sand.
