sarai was born to mortal parents on neper and didn’t discover her telekinetic abilities until the age of ten, when she accidentally flew a chair across the room and concussed her mother during an argument. although her mother recovered, the incident left sarai traumatized and full of guilt. since that day, she swore never to use her powers again unless absolutely necessary. at first, it was unclear of exactly how sarai obtained her powers. but after the area she grew up in was discovered to be contaminated with loads of toxic radiation, an explanation for her supernatural abilities began to seem clear. only a few others in the area were affected by the contamination, though none as much as sarai.

sarai rose to fame in the public eye after devoting herself to good for the rest of her teenage years and into her twenties, constantly resolving fights and helping authorities catch escaped criminals. many gave her the nickname “sapphire” because of her trademark bright blue hair, and it stuck. sarai mainly uses a simple staff in combat, as she doesn’t have any intention of ever truly hurting her opponents. she isn’t the strongest, but her wits and intelligence make up for what she lacks in physique.

often somber and earnest, sarai takes most everything in life very seriously. her uptight nature can take a while for some to get used to, but it doesn’t make her any less empathetic or kind. sarai has a big heart, and would do about anything for those she loves. she is fiercely loyal and dependable, and stops at nothing to ensure the safety of those around her. sarai has a perfectionist attitude, and though her tenacity can be admirable, she is prone to feelings of worthlessness in the pursuit of excellence. she is easily bothered by incompetence and hates being held back. sarai will always do something for the greater good and doesn’t mind making sacrifices to help others.
