The Principality mainly live in tattered old tents on the scarred battlefield in and around the old main castle. The stone walls tend to keep out wind (only if it's blowing in the right direction) and the extra moss on the walls can be used to create cozier nests for the younger cats. If it snows, which is does quite often, the younger, more vulnerable cats get to hide away in a safe space in the castle ruins, while the older, hardier cats have to tough it out in the regular areas.

The cats of ReachClan have seasonal camp locations, moving as weather, water levels, and predator activities dictate. During the winter months, they migrate from their primary camp to a camp located in a small lava tube system in the forest. During the warmer times of year, these caves are visited occasionally by twolegs, but during the leafbare they vacate the area. The temperatures within are much warmer within the caves than those outside, and the melting snow provides an ample source of water. The cats collect feathers, mosses, and even materials from the nearby twoleg camp to make their nests comfortable on the rocky floors of the cavern. Kits and fledglings are warned not to venture too far from camp, lest they get lost in the uncharted caves.

Havenclan, although making their home inside a gigantic hollow in a truly massive western red cedar, does gather soft and fluffy materials to line their nests. They also pack fluff and dried reeds against the sides of the hollow, to add extra insulative effect to the bark. The most prized form of insulation are the fluffed heads of cattails, followed closely by dried saltmarsh grasses, and every fall and early winter, there is a competition amongst the apprentices to collect the greatest amount of insulation!

Cavernclan cats spend the months leading up to leafbare gathering supplies around their camp in preparation for the colder months. Pine tree's shed needles as a base for nests, followed by dried out mosses from the months of greenleaf, and then topped off with furs and fluff and feathers from their prey! And to top it all off, due to being fairly close knit cavernclan cats will often just nestle together atop their mighty piles of soft, warm goodies and cuddle for warmth. Every now and then theyll steal a twoleg possession that they find on nearby hiking trails if it seems it'll be useful, the most notable being a small packet of tissues that was essentially shredded and stuffed into the nests in the nursery.

They like to add extra fluff to the nest, some of it is sourced from the twolegs. Others they source from prey or shedding season. They also reinforce the camp against the cold by weaving additional layers into the bush so less wind-chill can make it into the camp. Sometimes they even manage to source entire blankets from the twolegs in pretty good condition by working together to carry them off.

the hollowed guild is not used to the cold and mainly panic stuffs dens to keep warm at the slightest bit of cold weather. they pluck feathers off all year and keep them stored in a storage den and steal hay from barn cat. when the cold comes, they pull all of this out of storage in order to keep every cat warm. normally, the elders’, medics’, and nursery dens get the best and first picks to ensure that they are kept warm, but sometimes, senior protectors may go ahead get some of it if there are no temporary caregivers in the nursery. outside of that, the entire clan uses what is left over to line the walls to insulate it and pulls nests in closer to keep warmer.

fairies;; they absolutely despise the cold! the snow is a little too much for their wings and they just hate being cold in general! to help with the cold, they live in little crystal villages with silk blankets and cotton and cluster together to make a fairy huddle!
elves;; though they do spend a bunch of time outdoors, like the fairies, they don't appreciate the cold either! but instead of having silk blankets and cotton, they prefer to make structures with little fireplaces built within them!
dwarves;; they don't care. mining is all that matters.
pirates;; no one knows. they are either below deck in their falling apart ship or somewhere far, far away that is way warmer probably hunting for treasure ^^
villagers;; the most reliant on each other to block out the cold, villagers live in little huts with a bunch of their family during the winter! they make warm soups, and love to dare each other to eat spicy peppers that are tucked away in some forgotten drawer. it never ends well

Prompt: MistClan does their best to keep the kits in warm places. For the most part MistClan just toughs out the cold weather. When things get really bad all of the clan tends to huddle together to keep warm in the cold weather. Kits in the middle and toughest warriors closest to the outside! That is how the clan tends to huddle, at least.

How does your clan cope with the cold? Do they line their nests with twoleg fluff, extra feathers, or just.. Tough it out?


Since the Travelers don't typically have an established camp, and rarely have time to reinforce what temporary shelter they find each day, there isn't much they do in terms of lining dens and nests. Instead, they'll try to seek out natural shelter from the weather. For warmth, the group will huddle together in a big pile of fluff.

Prompt: When things get cold for the Clan, they tend to huddle up together and try to keep each other warm. Tuxedopaw will though surprise them from time to time with a Two Leg blanket, but he never says how he got it or where it would be from! Also, it helps to find a good tree to huddle against, a dead one or one free from sap.
