Neptune's Free Dragon Art Thread
hiatus (will be back!)


Hello, my name is Neptune! I am looking for interesting dragon characters to draw as practice. I will be taking artistic liberty with the style/background, but will stick with your character design and take suggestions based on the character. The artworks will most likely be full body. Winged/non-winged dragons and dragon-like creatures are allowed. Mech dragons are also allowed. Anthro dragons are also allowed.This is not FCFS.

I have dragon characters of my own but I would like to do something different and also give a gift. Examples of pieces I've done in different styles:

Characters can be submitted via embedded images or toyhou.se links in a reply.
Characters with descriptions/info are preferred. I will choose depending on which characters I find the most interesting/suited for my style and based on how many replies I get. If I decide to draw your character, I will message you or reply to your comment.

omg i saw this pop up on the recent posts and i just ZOOMED in here because dragons. dragons?!?! and wow am i glad i did because your art is unbelievably gorgeous, those examples are just lovely to look at and i really admire your style ;;

that being said i offer you this dragon! my love, my entire heart, my snarky and arrogant trickster jerk who later goes off the downright chaotic evil deep end. if you like jewels and dark magic and the color purple you're in luck! they're basically my version of a very underdeveloped character from an old game and i think at this point i've written and drawn and developed so much of a story for them that i may have a problem. i understand & no worries at all if you don't want to draw a dragon that is ? kind of ? partially ? based off a vague canon character, i figured i'd suggest them regardless and see ^^ thank you SO much for the chance and i'm excited to see what awesome dragon art you make even if you don't choose me!!!

extra note: there's some details about them/the design on their page but if you'd like to know anything else, feel free to ask me because i can go on for ages :'D also here is a link to a gallery of only dragon form references!

I wish I had more dragon OC's for you to choose from, but I only have one established, Xīngxì. Maybe make him a more semi-realistic eastern dragon if you choose to draw him. =)

I like their design a lot, I will definitely try sketching them and PM you if I come up with something. I'll definitely ask for creative input if I decide to finish the drawing. Thank you!

I really like Supernova's design. I mentioned above but I will PM you if I sketch something good of her that I want to finish as a full drawing. Her name gives me space themed ideas. Thank you for submitting your OCs!

Finished the artwork of Loptyr! I will continue drawing characters submitted to this thread in my free time.
