I used to have this whole shelf full of stuffed animals. and I always thought that they jumped out and watched me sleep every night, full of hate because I chose to sleep with another stuffed animal instead of them. I even checked if they moved from their original positions and was convinced that they moved.
yes, that ended with me putting them all in my small bed.
I also used to think that ghosts could hear my thoughts. That caused me to apologize with my inner voice to a bunch of strangers every time I asked myself a very weird question

So I would say one of the weirdest beliefs I had as a child was swimming would give me a stomach ache. I also had other beliefs I was told as a child, which I would believe and then found out years later, as an adult, many things were false or made up. Another belief I had was I thought other countries had special events and actually go out and communicate to people in nice ways more than Americans. That belief I'm not sure whether it is true or false. LOL

I thought that the posters in my room of celebrities could actually see in my room and that they would watch the people who hung the posters up. Kinda like the concept of the chocolate frog cards in Harry Potter where those people would be in the cards sometimes and say hi. This was way before I ever even heard of Harry Potter though.

I also thought that like television shows abs movies were almost like reality tv where it was all real and actually happening, but the people were just using different names or something idk I barely even understood what I though lol. To be fair though I was mainly watching Disney and Nick at the time since I was super young when I thought that lol

That the toads I put in the garden to save from the electric fence (that wasn't on) wouldn't have been squished by the two very stupid frog loving labs we had.

Somehow small me didn't realize that the toads were trying to get through the fence and I had jot actually helped them. I held onto this belief up until my middle school years.

I thought drummers just had a really long finger they would use. And you had to be a person with that special finger to be a drummer hehe

as a child (maybe around 7?) i was terrified of flushing the toilet. you know how when you flush, it slowly fills back up with water? well i thought that if i flushed it, it was going to flood my entire house, all the way up to the roof, within seconds.

i literally don't know why i thought this

My brother told me there was a button on the computer you could press, and the whole world would blow up. I was scared to use the computer.

I thought that a monster lived under my bed, ever since I read books about things living under kids' beds.

I thought that Americans were more evil than people from other countries. Whenever I heard about something evil happening in another country, I would be surprised. This might have come from people such as preachers saying how evil of a country America is, etc.

Up until pre-teen/early teen age, I thought that trees were having telepathic conversations with me. I didn't think it was just my imagination.

I thought my stuffed animals and toys were alive. Whenever I stepped on one or just somehow "hurt" them I would immediately apologize. I'd also start talking to them and sometimes even threaten them to talk because "I knew they could".

Not gonna lie, a little part of me still believes it...
