Wasn't planning on it but my boyfriend is going crazy because the theme is intergalactic which is his favorite and he doesn't want to miss it. So it's very last minute but I think we can make it work lol. Gonna be flying with 2 full digi suits. Anyone have any tips for flying with suits/ anything I should know about MFF? We've only been to smaller cons before so it's probably gonna be a bit overwhelming

Youβre gonna have to really stay on top of the hotels to get a room as the room lottery has already ended. Also I heard that a lot of hotels are really bumping up prices since rooms are so sought after.
As for how mff is, itβs fun and the dealers den is huge, but be prepared to stand in quite a few lines for extended periods of time. You have to show up an hour early or be a sponsor to get good seats at popular events like the dance comp and floor wars. Be prepared to walk a decent bit outside or through the skywalk if youβre not at the main hotel.
Also make sure to bring your vax card and masks! Full vaccination and masks(balaclavas do not count) are required for all attendees, even fursuiters.
I lucked out and got a room in the main hotel for the first time in 5 years and Iβm stoked to finally have a chance to wear my 2 new fursuits.

Thanks for the info! It's me and my boyfriend's second furry convention so. We are going to buy sponsor tickets anyway and we are rooming with someone else in the Aloft Chicago O'Hare which I think should be close enough.
Do the majority of the dealers take card? Or should I bring cash?
This is my suit I'll be bringing

Finished it just before Denfur in August. Needs a couple small fixes this month but I'm hoping it can transport alright (along with my boyfriend's suit). Current plan is to put them in vacuum sealing bags in a tote with TSA approved padlocks. But my suit's head is partially EVA so I think I'll have to bring her as carry-on/personal item if allowed.

I got my first partial about a month ago! I was supposed to be going to a con this month too, but I didn't get tickets in time and they sold out :'< I was so excited to show it off! The only problem is that when I wear his head, the front gets weighed down and falls. Right now I'm just wearing a beanie under it to make it more snug, but does anyone have any other advice? I'm also thinking about lining the head and paws, or getting them lined but I'm not sure where to start. I'd additionally like to add elastic to the paws so they're more snug. Other than that, I really want to find local furries to go out suiting with, but it's really hard! Any help is greatly appreciated~
sounds like your head is too small for your fursuit. you can cut out chunks of 1 inch foam and glue them to the inside of your fursuit head. i normally do one on the back of my head and, if i need the extra support, two by my cheeks. to line the head you need to get a tape pattern of the inside of the head. youtube tutorials will help you. also... i dont recommend lining your paws... its not worth it. lining them makes the paws way way hotter. it looks nice and clean, but unlined paws will always be the best imo.

Ahh I love your suits! I swear I've seen the green one somewhere before.. huh. We should all totally do a CS meetup at MFF lol.
As for lining handpaws, I kind of beg to differ. I mean yes a lot of the time less layers=less heat, but I line my paws with lycra and they wick the sweat and keep me so much cooler (and dryer) than if I didn't have them lined. Is it worth it? To me it is, to the individual, who knows. Just my preference.

i agree, we should!
lined vs unlined paws is really a personal opinion, yeah. one of my suits paws is lined, the other suits is not. the main difference to me is my hands dont sweat as much in unlined paws so theres not as much sweat to wick up. my lined paws are DRENCHED after a long wear whereas my unlined paws are only damp or clammy.

Oh heck yeah, I've always wanted to see a chicken smoothie meetup at a con. Too bad panel submissions are closed, but maybe it could just be a small meetup in a lobby or something
I'm finally going to MFF for the first time this year, but I'm taking an Amtrak train instead of flying since it's not that far. However most of their trains can't take checked baggage, so I have to pack veeeeery strategically to fit everything in two carryons + two small personal items lol
