—vanessa watched as both pokeballs lit up after a few shakes. she has officially caught the kyogre and the zeraora! she was siked to learn more about the two. she let kyogre out, once making sure ignis and raiden were safely in their pokeballs, and the huge pokemon appeared with a wave. drenched in water, lavender and kepler yipped, but nonetheless cheered.

she then let out zeraora, who appeared with a grand enterance of a flip and a flash of lightning. vanessa laughed, before straightening up. "so, names!" she hummed excitedly, her two new pokemon letting out bursts of excitement as well. "kyogre, how do you like baleia? it means whale in my first language!" she thought, before getting a nod of approvement from the pokemon. "and zeraora, how about.. adhira? it means 'devine white lightning'." she offered. the zeraora nodded in excitemend, hugging vanessa happily. vanessa winced from a small shock the pokemon gave her, but despite her hair rising on end from the electricity, she hugged adhira back.

"now, what do you guys want to do?" she asked, raiden coming out of his pokeball to play around with adhira, since the rain had softened. ignis came out too, and vanessa sheltered him inside of her sweater, to keep him dry from the rain. her pokemon didn't seem to want to leave... hmm..

"okay, i guess we can hangout here for a bit!" she decided. baleia looked over, before humming. vanessa looked up, seeing baleia's outstretched giant fin, was baleia inviting them to ride on him? vanessa happily agreed, leading her pokemon - who were all outside of their pokeballs - over to baleia, to help them up. once everyone was on the giant pokemon, she hopped on too, with the help of adhira's outstretched hand. the group sat on baleia, who slowly swam them around the beachy area, in hopes to keep them entertained while the rain continued.

"oh hello! you must be alastair! i'm afraid you don't have much of a selection, everyone's already come by for their pokemon.. and there is only one left." the professor explained.

you shrug and decide you'll take the pokemon, no matter who they are.

At the news the professor gave him, Alastair shrugged his shoulders. The early bird got the worm, and he definitely wasn't the early bird. That was his fault for setting his alarm for the wrong time. But there was not much to complain about as he was still going to receive a Pokemon, and he knew that he was going to enjoy his partner Pokemon regardless of who it was. When the professor revealed that his partner Pokemon would be none other than a Scorbunny, Alastair smiled and knelt down. "Hey there Scorbunny! I'm going to be your trainer. I'm hoping we can be the best of friends!" Alastair said to the small Pokemon. "I don't want to call you Scorbunny for the rest of our time together. So how about I give you a name, what do you say to that?"

The Scorbunny jumped around Alastair cheerfully when he mentioned giving him a name.

Alastair chuckled and nodded his head. "Alright then, how about the name Nesquick?"

The Scorbunny once again hopped around Alastair as if he was trying to say that he liked the name.

"Alright then. It's settled. I will be calling you Nesquick!" Standing back up, Alastair nodded to the professor. "Thanks so much for the Pokemon, professor. I'll take good care of him." Looking down at Nesquick, Alastair offered another smile. "You ready to start this journey with me bud?"

Tem watched the little grass monkey Pokemon as the professor offered it to them, tilting their head like a confused Growlithe as they accepted the Pokeball. Upon freeing the starter from its captivity, the teenager crouched down to get at eye level with the impish Pokemon. As it were, the Grookey stared directly into Tem's eyes - an act of curiosity that struck Tem as an act of aggression, initially, and the trainer flinched slightly (much to the Grookey's misfortune).

Tem stood, looking at the professor and nodding as he spoke. When asked about a name, Tem glanced back down at the Grookey that now huddled close to their foot. "Hmm... I want to name him Mochi," they said simply, reaching down to gently pat Mochi's head. The Grookey cooed in delight, pawing at Tem's hand, and at that, a smile threatened the corners of Tem's lips. "Yeah... Mochi."

Tem waved goodbye to the professor and started off with their new partner Pokemon, heading down the narrow path as they watched Mochi walk alongside them with such a childlike wonder about the world. It was admirable, to say the least - but now came the decision-making process of having a Pokemon: where would they go next?

The teenager pondered this for a solid four minutes, seemingly ignoring how concerned Mochi looked at their unresponsiveness. Finally, Tem snapped their fingers in realization. Now that they had a Pokemon, they could head to the beach without their mom getting upset that they didn't have anything to protect them! Barely even processing the fact that Mochi couldn't read minds, Tem simply said, "To the beach!" and started that way, their little grass monkey trailing behind them excitedly.

You and Mochi make your way over to the beach, it was relaxing, the sun was warm and the trainers seemed happy, there was also the comforting sound of the ocean. You breath in the ocean air before walking around, it isn't long before you find a pokemon... but this one seemed different, it was blue and light grey, happily wandering around. You almost tripped over it. The pokemon seemed like it wasn't supposed to look like that. You notice a Murkrow coming over, were they friends?

You bent down to get to level with the Pokemon, Mochi jumping off of your shoulder. You then hear footsteps getting louder and louder behind you before a lady dressed in pink scoops up the Pokemon, muttering something like "You shouldn't run off like that." The lady didn't seem to see you, so you're about to get up and leave when she says. "Hey, are you a trainer?" You turn back, she's talking to you. "Is that a Grookey? Aww, it's adorable! Um, anyway, I need to train my Pokemon and I don't want to leave the beach, can you battle with us?" She tells the blue and grey Pokemon, a Tyrunt, to return. "Tyrunt is a little strong, and you seem like a new trainer, so I'll just be using Murkrow, and I do have some spare potions in my bag so I can heal your Pokemon once you're done..." She's holding her Murkrow tightly, swaying from side to side. "Please battle me, nobody else on the beach will."

This trainer wants to battle!

After a while, Nekro and her pokèmon were out in the woods. Nekro sat down on a log to take out a snack from her backpack. "You two hungry?" She offered some berries to her pokemon, and then gave some berries she stored in her bag for her pokemon she brought from home. Nekro then heard a rustle in a bush. "Hm?"

Adventure!:

I noticed the Gloom that Chompy accidentally tripped over but the Gloom didn’t seem to like it very much. A Grass Poison type. Yea not a great match up at this point if it did have a Grass type move. I notice that Chompy was actually trying to apologise to the Gloom, at least, that’s what I think the Totodile was doing. I went up to where Chompy and the Gloom were. “Sorry about Chompy Gloom” I said to the Gloom while rubbing the back of my head “He’s just a little Clumsy.” Chompy seemed to have other intentions though. He looked at me with determined eyes while I looked down at him. “You want to battle Chompy?” I asked the Totodile. “Toto Totodile!” I looked at the Gloom and asked “if it’s fine with you, want to battle Gloom?”

the professor's pokemon faints, and he retracts it into it's ball.
"you put up a good battle! i can restore your pokemon's health, come this way!"
he insists, leading you back inside to a machine.

he instructs you to place your pokeball with your pokemon inside of it, in
the machine, before running it up to a start.

"alright, while they take a quick rest, i'll grab that prize i promised you!" he
smiled.

walking into a back room, he returns with a rolled up piece of paper, and a small box.
he hands you the paper, "this is a map. it'll take you through route one, and onto a
seceret route. legend has it, there's a special pond in which a very special pokemon
hides out. find the pond, find the pokemon. inside of this box is a net ball, which will hopefully
be able to capture this rare pokemon. you must use it wisely, it has one use, so time it right!"
he tells you.

once handing you the items, he turns back to the machine to fetch your pokeball, handing your
balled companion back to you.

"have fun!" he smiles, "and keep me updated on any discoveries!".

Kailani squeals as the caterpie faints, the most incredible feeling of victory suddenly engulfing her. She rushes towards her oshawott before skidding to a swift stop, then wraps her arms around him. (The poor thing seems somewhat unsure about the hug, Kailani notes. She'll get him used to physical contact yet!)

"That was amazing!" Kailani praises softly. "You were like, 'bam', 'bam', 'bam', success! Not even string shot could slow you down!"

Oshawott lightly flushes as his trainer continues, "It was like watching shigyre battle during the annual Syélten Festival — oh! And I have a name for you, finally! How about Shinalu — 'wave warrior'?"

The little otter self-consciously rubs his scalchop. This is a big decision here — what his trainer will call him for the rest of his life. Despite what said trainer thinks, he's not a warrior. Not a good one, at least. His line was known for being companions to samurai back when they ruled the lands. Now the samurai are long gone, but the water-type decides to honor his past. "Osha!" he agrees boldly.

Kailani bursts again into a grin. "Then it's final! Greetings, Shinalu, young warrior of waves and wind. I am Kailani La'renn of earth, seas and skies. I hope we serve each other well."

The professor calls and Kailani ushers Shinalu towards the machine, then into his 'ball for the healing. She waits while the professor fetches the prize. Upon spying the chest and paper, the trainer jests, "Is it a treasure map?"

Not quite, but close, it turns out. Though, if she considers the pokémon a treasure chest and the special 'ball a very frail shovel, then she's technically correct.

Kailani takes the items and puts them away, her sense of adventure tingling at the thought of rare friends. Of course, all companions are great, but the exotic ones do make people feel special, don't they?

She releases Shinalu from his contraption, then leads him out the door. "We will!" Kailani agrees with the professor, then breaks into a steady jog.

After a few paces, Kailani pauses and turns to Shinalu. "Our first task is to head through Route 1; from there, we're going to enter a secret area. The professor told me that there's a rare pokémon hanging around near a pond — maybe a water-type like you, maybe not. I really don't know. But! The important thing is that we both have fun, 'kay?"

Shinalu reports an affirmative, then leads the way, walking down the route. Behind him, his trainer cheers, "And off we go!"
