ever since she was little lina was taught to be respectful and only speak
when spoken to. even then, you speak in a soft and gentle tone. well, t
o say that it didn't quite stick would be an understatement. she certain
ly has a strong will and an even stronger personality. respect is only giv
en when she receives the same, and she has no issue voicing how she fe
els or what she's thinking. this doesn't mean she doesn't have softer..ish
qualities. there is a maternal drive buried inside her and she finds hers
elf wanting to take care of or help those who need it more than she doe
s. her mother often scolds her for playing around in the dirt with the ch

ildren in her village, but it's not something she can help.
she's a good person to ask for advice, only in some aspect
s though. if you're looking for someone to just tell you wh
atever you want to hear she's not your girl. she gives it to
you like it is whether you like it or not. the only problem
she has is taking her own advice or even caring about her
self. lina frequently visits the state of denial and it is not
something she admits easily if at all. though, if she does,
consider yourself someone she trusts, truly and deeply. ─

Ulysses' mother was an immigrant from Malaysia who met his father, a gardener for the Purcells, shortly after arriving in America. Ulysses is the first of their four children. As such, Ulysses was taught to be the responsible one in the room, often relied upon to be the mediator in fights between his siblings. He has a strong sense of justice and has, historically, been quite good at seeing to the heart of a matter to figure out how best to solve it. This temperate mindset has also been injurious in his work. From a tender age, Ulysses was taught how to follow in his father's footsteps. However, he had little interest in the planning of large gardens or of landscaping, instead developing particular interest (and skill) in plant breeding, molding flowers and produce alike to the specific requests of the Purcells. Since his twenty-first birthday, he has fully taken over this part of the job from his father. Despite his serious side, Ulysses still knows how to have a good time. He loves drinking and dancing as much as any other man his age, but he's not quite as loud about it as some. Sure, he's gotten into a fair bit of trouble in his time, but he knows how to hide it. After all, he doesn't want to disappoint his family, nor lose the respect of the Purcells.
