haven't been on cs in a while, and not rlly sure how active this thread is but i need some advice-
I have a beautiful lil juvenile ball python, he's not my first snake ever but he is my first snake in a few years- yesterday I attempted his first feeding w me, I gave him a live pinky rat. However, he seems totally uninterested and if anything seems kinda scared of the pinky.
He's a really active healthy guy, I don't handle him often, he has a proper set up, and he's not even going into blue so I really don't know how I can get him to eat. any advice is greatly appreciated

Do you know if he was fed live rats before? I know the breeder I got my corn snake from fed them frozen and I couldn't see my guy wanting to eat live. You could also wait a couple more days to make him a bit more hungry so there's a higher incentive to eat. Sometimes even just the stress of moving into a new environment can put them off. Good luck with your new friend!!

More information regarding your setup is imperative - temperatures, humidity, pictures of the enclosure. Have you been holding him? Food refusals are almost always husbandry errors with ball pythons.

I am picking up my first snake today! A Boa Imperator/Common Boa. I am very excited to get him home.
I am starting him off in a semi bioactive 3ft viv, that I initially bought for my Hamster, but will be upgrading to a 5 - 6ft enclosure next year [depends on how fast he's growing] that I will likely also keep semi bioactive. The 3ft will then be put into storage, but I have an empty 4ft oak tank that we're thinking about replacing the glass with a vivarium if my Dad wants 'his own' snake - I'd be providing the care, but he could take it out whenever he wanted where as the Boa is in my bedroom.
So far I am stumped on what to call the little guy:
- Salem
- Binx
- Jormungandr [I can't think of a cute short nickname for this though]
- Frankie [since it's almost Halloween, Frankenstein]
- Otis

Any ideas for something that can live comfortably in a 20 long? I’m upgrading my leopard gecko and don’t want to get rid of his old tank when something else can be in there

I’m not allowed snakes (yet) and would prefer something without a high humidity requirement, but other than that I have no restrictions.

Another leopard gecko! :D
Otherwise, maybe you could look into an African Fat Tailed gecko or Steppe Runners. Really anything desert-dwelling should have less humidity requirements.
If you're not limited to just reptiles, mice can also be fun to keep. A single male or a few females would be fine in a 20 gallon.
