hey, so I ended up writing a treat story, but i've run into a small issue...

for some reason, despite coding it correctly, when I send the treat message along with my trade, the text is normal sized instead of 80 - the size i'm using right now. it bothers me for purely aesthetic reasons (': wondering if anyone knows what i'm doing wrong?

i've tried putting it in a quote box, but that made the text impossible to read.. so that's a no go. any suggestions? i've seen people's trade messages come through in small font, so I know it can be done

yeah! it's just the [ size=80 ] [ / size] code, without spaces of course.. plus the color coding and such. just the standard codes used for the forums.

Thats fine, I know some people prefer to still send something even with tricks, though technically speaking it could still be counted as a treat, since there is no minimum requirement for treats.

Can you share the code that you are using?

the pure excitement alone was enough to push him into his routine; get up, make his bed, eat breakfast, make
sure the various pieces of his costume were in order, and meet his friends at the park. halloween fell on a sunday
this year, so there was no school to worry about, simply play and holiday preparation. he and his friends played all
morning and well into the evening together, only deciding to venture home again when it was nearing dark, and the
first street lights came on. that was the signal that trick or treating would be starting soon, and it would undeniably
be the highlight of the entire season.

padfoot's mom was home from work just in time to help him put the finishing touches on his wizard costume,
and after taking a good look in the mirror, he decided it was [i]perfect[/i]. it wasn't exactly scary, but it was certainly
fun, and he was a big fan of magic and all things supernatural. his friends wore costumes of varying themes. one of
them was ghost face, another was spider-dog, and the last was a character known as skull trooper - from a popular
video game they all played. after they spent a few moments admiring each other's getups, the four set off into the
night, giggling and fooling around as they made their way to the first house.

"you're a big 'fraidy-cat, so you should go first," his friend teased playfully, giving padfoot a gentle push towards the
house. the outside was... rather intimidating, if he were being honest. luckily, he [i]loved[/i] being scared, despite
the jabs from the other kids. with a roll of his eyes and a big grin, padfoot approached the door, taking a deep
breath and hesitating for just a few seconds... then he knocked. not wanting to lose his nerve, the pup gave an

Thanks! I didn't see any real issues with the coding which is good, just one of the center end codes missing the slash, but I don't think that should have an effect since its before any of the text (the one at the end of the pet image). I will say you could probably simplify the coding and make it less liking of any issues with it, since the whole thing is centered you can just put one center code on it from the beginning to end instead of one on each piece of it. //Not necessary by any means I just find it helps not misplacing end codes and whatnot

Tried sending some test trades and it does look like the text is size 80 as intended, text in trades is just bigger than text on the forums;

Size 80 on forums
So it ends up looking more like size 100 text instead.

I also realized this while testing this, but the text isn't really readable on the halloween background, so you might want to consider changing the colors. Thats up to you though. Adding color the messages in trades is kinda hit or miss tbh cause the site skins change the background color for trades. I believe the site switched most people to halloween automatically at the beginning of October though so a lot of people may still be on that, like me. Technically putting it in quotes should help just cause the color for quote background will be the same regardless of site skin, though the text would need to be readable on that too of course.

Would the cross out one be the answer because it’s crossed/marked instead of left unmarked hence meaning the lights are on
Or does the cross out one meaning that it is not that one and is the one that is left so hence lights off 🤔

Glad we got it figured out! I don't use different text sizes very often so I hadn't even noticed that trades make the text bigger, but it makes sense.

I would assume that "lights on/lights off" would mean that their lights are off, generally speaking having it crossing out means thats not the one. //I usually prefer just, not including both anyway cause it can cause confusion
