Lucas flicked his ears in acknowledgement to Leo's commentary on the need for warriors, but he shrugged.
"I guess." He said, clearly not convinced. When Leo mentioned that some of the other warriors had in fact gone out, his expression turned sheepish for a moment. "Whoops, I guess that shows how much I pay attention to my surroundings. Don't tell on me." He said and nodded. "Yeah, let's get out of - " It was then that he heard the commotion between Ambrose and Shadow and his head turned, eyes falling on the two wolves who were... playing?

"Yikes." He said, wrinkling his nose. "They... they realize that they're old, right? And like, we're at war with the Fire Pack and all. Is this really the time for fun? Who knows what Max and his evil minions could be plotting at this very moment?" He shook his head. "I'm embarrassed for them, acting like pups in such a serious time. Heh - you'd think I'd be the adult." He seemed to remember that this was Leo's mom he was criticizing and he shot Leo an apologetic look to his friend. "Uh, no offense to your mom, of course. It just seems pretty tone deaf given the situation. I'm sure she'll come to her senses before the day's end." He added, trying to cover his tracks. "L-Let's head out. See if we can't find some of our own excitement somehow."

The male uneasy with not being able to sleep could only toss and turn every few minutes in the warrior's den. His muscles were still sore however and the turning didn't help. With a sigh, he sat and stood up before heading towards the healer's den. Seiko hoped there would be something to help with the pain or help him sleep at least. He peeked his head inside the den which was filled with his other packmates waiting to be treated and whispered to the closest wolf next to him- a pup ' hey pup, is the healer here or are you all waiting to them to be back? ' he questioned, not noticing he was the apprentice of the healer he was looking for.

Pandora nodded though, with a puzzled face, she was worried about Arla's condition however she respects her decision. ' If that's the case then may I assist you with anything? ' She offered with a smile.

Akita growled baring her fangs to the other wolf. ' Watch who you're calling crazy! '. The she-wolf grumbled and looked away however stayed in the same place as before, after a bit, she turned to look at Mayuri and nodded ' ..then is it just the two of us, or are you planning on inviting more hunts? ' she mumbled and asked.

At first, the male was a bit stunned by the blur that passed by him and invited him to the race however he quickly followed the racing pair, though he wasn't trying to race with them so by the time he arrived, the race was already finished. Kodiak nodded, agreeing that it was indeed an impressive strategy but Smoke's speed was not something to be taken lightly. ' ... you both did a great job. '

"Don’t worry about it, Terra. It’s not-" Blizzard cut himself off at Rowan's following statement, ears laying flat against the side of his head, and it took effort to not end up growling at the youngster. He was less offended by the question than the mockery, in all honesty. "Have I ever killed anyone, yes. Twice. Once intentionally, to defend the nursery, once by accident in a border scuffle. And not killing a wolf doesn’t make a Warrior bad at their job. Warriors are built to be fighters and defenders, not murderers. There’s nothing in Pack law that says a Warrior must kill to be good at their job. The only Warrior that’s truly bad at their job is one who CAN'T bring themselves to, even in an emergency."

Smoke wagged her tail happily, already reenergized enough to bounce on her paws once Kodiak had stopped close to them. "Thanks! I forgot how HARD racing is. I think since Hunters are specially trained for speed and stamina, Basil had the advantage though right from the start." She laughed quietly. "Not that I’m complaining. It’s nice to be able to escape the BORING-ness of camp for a while!"

Leo barked in a failure to suppress his laugh. "Yeah well, we got all caught up talking, so I’m not surprised. I only saw them from the corner of my eye," he admitted. "Besides, I don’t think Alpha's expecting us to keep an eye on who comes and goes all day either. That’d be silly." Leo tilted his head to the side, following Lucas' gaze, and it was an odd sight to him. Partially because they were much older than the usual play-age, partially because one of them was his MOM, and partially because…well…Shadow had a record of just NOT engaging her Pack in a particularly casual manner, usually being more aloof on the surface. I guess she broke or something. Anyone can crave company. And no WAY someone like me could’ve come from a mom who doesn’t want to socialize now and then.

"As long as you don’t say it to her face, I’m sure there'll be no offence. I’m not offended on her behalf," Leo promised. "And I dunno why they’re like that. Maybe it’s just some sort of morale booster, keep the high ranks from getting depressing and unfocused?"

Arian could not deny that this pleased her. It was good to express emotion, but not to allow it to make one soft enough that they lose their fighting edge. Then the pleases gleam in her eyes faded as she looked up at him. "You doubted the solidity of our friendship overtime?" She asked. When she’d climbed the ranks, had she unconsciously distanced herself? "Of course not, Erle. You needn't be afraid to speak freely with me. In all the time I’ve known you, you’ve never been anything but good to me," she pointed out. "So since there does not appear to be trouble by this border, let’s go by the other, and we can discuss where to go from here," she suggested.

"I apologize. It must’ve been my fault when I got caught up with work. I understand the importance of work, I’ve always let it take priority. I suppose…in doing so, I neglected social ties." Arian turned to head towards their opposing border. She was rarely a multitasker, so in dividing her time between work and friendship, she’d neglected. "Yes…I caught scents by the river, but no sane wolf would CROSS the river except perhaps that one weird Lightning wolf, and I’m quite sure she’s gone mad!" The recent peace wasn’t reassuring, but she knew Max must have a plan, or else they wouldn’t have stayed in silence for so long. Not when there was a war to fight. "First, tell me this; If we were to move forward, what do you think it would look like, for either or both of us? Because Erle, while I am open the possibility of a relationship, I will not abandon my work for it altogether. I was entrusted with the role of a Lead, and I do not intend to disappoint."

Arian didn’t mind the acknowledgement that yes, it was her fault. In fact, she appreciated the bluntness of the confirmation. Honesty, however it came across, was always a good thing. "I am," she promised. "A wolf has time for work and love if they are aware and able to balance their time. How do you think Alphas do it?" She pointed out. An Alpha's overall work and stress levels must be much higher than that of any Lead. A small smile appeared on the Warrior's face as she looked up at him. "Then I suppose it’s time we sleep side by side at night then to start, hmmm? If you’re looking to try a relationship with me, then I will gladly engage. And I promise this time, I would not let my work occupy my ENTIRE life," she laughed awkwardly.

The sweet and gentle but stubborn and sometimes hard headed she wolf nodded. The beautiful lighter tan she wolf twitched black lined ears. Amber eyes looked between the males. She said “I think that’s a good idea, Oak.”

The kind and caring but shy and nervous black one Yawned. They then smiled, unable to help it, after shaking their head at them self. They walked with her down to the river. They knew it was a good place, because all animals needed to drink. They tended to come to the river to get that drink. Even the ones on the Fire side probably did that. They hummed a quiet canine sound as they walked. They knew the prey wouldn't stay at the river once quenched. They could get them while they were drinking though. They'd be distracted by having to quench their thirst. The young wolf kept an eye and an ear out. They twitched their nose, scenting the air, and saw a bird but it was flying...

The flirtatious and playful but fire disliking one hummed a canine sound. The brown wolf with brown eyes bared their own teeth. They said "I didn't call you crazy, I said you could be crazy or clumsy or anything else and I wouldn't care as long as you do your job!" They huffed and looked away. They then looked back though. "Seeing as I don't know where any of them are, it's just us. That's why I need you to go with me. I'm sure not going out there alone," they said.

The playful and loyal but fiery and stubborn one hummed a canine sound. The pretty chocolate one, with a white muzzle and chest patch, sighed and waited for Talon to go get his trainee and bring him back, ready to go training and everything.

The happy and lucky but hard headed and sometimes loud one nodded. The black nosed dark gray one trotted back to the center of camp.

The honest and trustworthy but sometimes cold and cruel one hummed a canine sound. The beautiful gray wolf turned amber eyes to the she wolf. She said "I mean...I guess you can just stay here with me and talk. No one came to me to tell me I have any duties to do. It's going to be a pretty boring day...Actually, would you go with me to the stream? I'm thirsty, and want to go get a drink. I should be fine since I'm still three weeks from giving burnt, but just in case."

The story loving but cold one hummed a canine sound then followed. The black furred and brown eyed one sniffed a bit.

It was true that Arian's pelt was thin, and that didn’t bode well in the fall to come. "I apologize, that was a bit…forward," she bowed her head did a moment, awkwardly. "Then let’s make a go of it, shall we? Personally, I’m honoured you would take an interest in me," she admitted.

"What’s not to be confident about?" Arian asked. In general, she knew what she wanted, and she let it be known, and others could choose whether they liked it or not. "Well…thank you. I’m certainly not opposed," she agreed as they reached the opposite border. The idea of a relationship had never crossed her mind before. She’d never thought it’d be possible, with the type of personality she had, knowing she was difficult at times, but Erle had always had patience with her. If anyone was to be her perfect match, it surely was the great Warrior walking beside her.

Fish smiled to herself when she felt the weight of the Trainee landing on her back. She’d expected she would be a terrible trainer, but so far…it had been pretty easy, and not only easy, but Rain was a fast learner too. "Good, very good. Now what do you do from here?" She prompted.
