I am wondering if anyone this year is thinking like me and planning on just having a house open to give tricks and treats rather than trick or treating themselves c:

I know that there have been some people, in past years, who did that (had lights on but didn't send out their own ToTer).

Tricks, typically, just mean that you don't get a treat. People will usually have a little story to go along with it, but it's mostly flavor text — a lot of people don't send out tricks at all, some send them out to people who broke a rule, and others send them when they don't have anything on someone's WL to give!
The most common reason for tricks being sent I think are 1) if you trick-or-treat at someone more than once when they don't allow repeats, or 2) their lights were off when you sent you message.

Hi! I just found out about Lights On Lights Off around a week ago. I think it sounds like a really fun game to play! I'm planning on joining, but before I attempt to, do either of these costumes seem acceptable? I don't have very many costume-themed items, so I was kind-of limited.

The bunny is meant to be a magician/a magician's rabbit.
The dog is meant to be a necromancer.

If you've already submitted your form and been accepted you can start playing now! If you haven't been accepted yet, just hold tight, you should get a PM in the next 24 hours.

If anyone needs a refresher on what's changed this year, heres a link. I'll also be including this link on the front page of the main thread.

I'm a bit late getting the player list updated with everyone's gift preferences, I'll do my best to get that up for you all in the next 24 hours.

Please remember you may not use this thread or the main thread to advertise your lights being on. The posts will be deleted. There is a channel in the official discord server which you can use to do that.

If you have any questions or need to report any rulebreaking, please don't hesitate to reach out to thread staff! We are also available on discord.

Hello! I was interested in joining LOLO but I don’t have a costume. I noticed there was a linked thread for finding a costume but there is only one person listed there and it was posted in 2019. Just wanted to ask if that list was up to date, because I’d hate to pester someone about a costume if they are no longer giving out costumes, sorry if this is something that is super obvious and I’ve somehow managed to miss it!

Either way LOLO sounds super fun!
