In the bid message, you will post the link to the group. It can either but make sure to read the auction rules because they might specify.

Am I'm sharing the bids correctly?

I am using this code:

[url=insert the share link of a trade]Bid #[/url]

And inserting the copy at the bottom of the trade.

Thank you. :)

Yes, that should be correct.

Re: The "How to Bid in & Run an Auction" Guide

Hi there. I'm thinking about auctioning off a high value pet of mine, but there's a question I have that I'm a bit hung up on.

It's said here that the point of an auction is to outbid other players through editing your trade offer, but a lot of players who run auctions that I've seen have a rule about sending a bid through a trade ready to be accepted, rather than a suggestion. I haven't sent a suggestion trade in a while, either, so I kind of forget how they work. I thought the only person who was able to edit a suggestion trade was the person you send it to, and you if they send it back for you to edit again. Is that what auctioneers who get suggestion bids do? Or are you actually able to edit your suggestion from your end at any time, even if the auctioneer doesn't send it back?

Is it all about the nature of the auction you want to have? It seems more like people send one-time trades that the auctioneer ranks, rather than adding more to their bid as the auction progresses.

Thank you for any help. I'm sorry if I'm missing something obvious. ^^

Edit: I just went back in the thread, and my question pertaining to editing suggestion trades has been answered. I am still wondering about suggestion trades vs. trades ready to be accepted, though. The pet I intend to hold an auction for is in a locked group, so I think asking for suggestion trades would probably be best, seeing as bidders wouldn't be able to add the pet to my side. That's actually another question I have now: should I keep the pet in a locked group, or make it so potential bidders can add it to the trade? Would that just be a personal preference thing?

How long after the end date should a bidder wait? It's been a few days after the end date for an auction I placed a bid on and nothing has happened despite the player being on. I don't think I am going to win, but I know it is often frowned on to leave early.

Hi hi!

Just posting because lately I've seen an uptick in auctions being posted in this forum where there are no listed bids.

I'm wondering - is this in the spirit of this forum? Wouldn't that be a better thing to do in the trade thread and just say you're asking for offers instead of posting an auction?

I've just been feeling a little weird, as sometimes it can mean you're bidding into oblivion, when I sort of thought the point was you get to see other offers and make adjustments.

Similarly, there are so many auctions that don't post ratings or feedback of any kind. Are these also auctions? I'm inclined to think yes, they list what they're looking for and put out the bids, but as a bidder I do feel a tad frustrated by it.

Anyways! Just wanted to post here and see if anyone has any thoughts or knowledge of the above. Especially the part where auctioneers don't post any of the bids they receive. I don't mean to "call out" players who do that or anything, I swear, I'm just wondering if there's a better place for that haha, I don't know! I hope this comes across okay!

Thanks to anyone for reading ❤️

Would this be the right place to ask how I should end the auction?
Because I've been unsure if I should request it be taken down or if there's something I can do to have that done.
Another thing I've been wondering about is if I could run another auction for the same item or pet, at the end of the original auction if I hadn't found an offer I wanted to accept quite yet, and if I were to do this, should it just be with the original auction or should I have that one still taken down. Sorry, I do not mean to seem greedy by any means, I just don't have a lot of experience trading high value items/pets. I am also quite clueless to specifics and need things explained in detail.
Also, I am super sorry if this is not the place to inquire about these things. I will definitely take down this reply if it isn't!
Thank you for taking the time to read!
