very sweet but naive, katya has a good hear
t. she's prone to being taken advantage of, d
oesn't quite know how to say no. a gentle, m
eek soul, katya always tries to make people
happy and is quite the people pleaser. this be
ing said, she is an insanely hard worker & wil
l always try her hardest no matter the task. s
he doesn't talk much about her homeland, bu
t can tell you all kinds of tales if you get her
to warm up to you in the long run.
katya was born & raised in russia, poverty stricken
& making gowns til she bled. spotted by american
fabric merchants, her talent didn't go unnoticed. f
or a large check, she was "adopted" & brought to n
ew york to train as a dressmaker for underwood &
co at barely 13 years old. her craft became an inte
gral part of her identity. in a way, it brought her so
me good fortune - though she barely scrapes by en
ough to make a real living here. still, poor and hou
sed in new york beats homeless in her home russia.

she's spent many long nights learning to speak englis
though her accent remains thick. she likely knows m
ore about everyone than they do of her - in her line
of work she hears much gossip. she is taught not to q
uestion their antics, just nod and smile. in a way, this
only makes her excited. she is curious to finally meet
people she's only heard of, see things she's only listen
ed to tales about. she prays her curiosity won't get th
e better of her and she can blend in enough to seem l
ike she is supposed to be there.
