Mind control? Not really. Once, i sneezed and accidentally reduced a bush to sparkles. You have no idea how powerful that I can become. And I bet the curse in the riddle is the fury spell or something. Time seems to stop, the enemy is killed, and since the curse protects you, you stay immortal, coming back from the dead each time.
