Lady Solstice was the black sheep of the family, which was ironic, considering she was the only member whose scales weren't black. So cold, so calculating, so wrong was she that her mere presence caused many dragons to shiver. A dangerous hybrid of sand, rain, and the royal blood of night, Lady Solstice certainly was unnerving, her eyes glinting hungrily at her relatives whenever they dared pass by.

It was less than shocking that she wished to seize power from the family that had raised her. When she awoke on her twentieth birthday, she was given a divine gift: the plague which allowed her to rise to the station of practicing queen of the NightWings.

The continent shuddered as Queen Solstice declared war and blazed through the RainWings and SandWings, claiming the united crown of the Kingdom of Solstice. Her birthright had at last fallen at her feet.

An uncanny group of common mercenaries were approached by the final remaining member of the NightWing royal family, grievously ill and wounded beyond hope. He begged that they find and assassinate Queen Solstice before it was too late, offering all the gold they could want and--to the surprise and delight of the dragons--a collection of animus-touched objects that had been safekept in the NightWing royal treasury for decades.

Clinging to their charms, the mercenaries made the long journey towards their fate. The siege of the Solstice Palace begins.
