- minkstar's camp grieves for the loss of ashstorm and for her parents - chickadeefur and lizardstripe. in minkstar's inner circle, ratnose and weaselstorm are concerned that she lost another life overnight and that she hasn't healed from her injuries

- fogface struggles leading his camp, barely stopping infighting between hawknose and her sisters flintspark and sunlight, who were taken in despite hawknose's protests. despite his struggles, fogface is stubborn and refuses to appoint anyone to help him. he is resolute in thinking that starclan will guide him, as unbeknownst to everyone in camp, he's being guided by a starclan spirit by the name of molefur...

- turkeypelt struggles with tremendous guilt about heeding the signs too late and is unable to communicate to anyone about his feelings, as penstemonpaw is missing and he promised tanagerwatcher he'd leave him out of it. everywhere turkeypelt goes, a ringing noise in his ears follow, making him disoriented and unable to focus on anyone attempting to sign to him.

- oakpaw finds that he wants nothing to do with warrior training anymore and hides away from all his denmates, including his brother brightpaw, who is distraught at how shut in his brother's become.

- cariboupelt and shroudkit adjust well to life underground, shroudkit especially, who is still unaware of how charred his home territory is. the mother and son pair made new friends in the caves - the mysterious armstead and his mate micah - the latter recently revealing themself as they're more standoffish than his mate.

- amidst the missing, shadowfoot endeavors to find any trace of his missing nieces (skinkwind, scorpionlight, and fritillarypatch) after sending three of his other kin away to highgarden.

newleaf -- everything is lush and beautiful, the plants and trees are thriving under the summer sun, and cats and predators alike have all come out to enjoy the warmth before it goes away. the good news for the clans is that sickness seems to have been brought under control, though the threat of heat exhaustion lurks if a cat overworks themself. medicine cats can take it easy, able to rely on the warm weather to keep their workload down - though it is never a bad idea to stock up on herbs, as leaf-fall and leafbare are just around the corner [ descriptor - simonpet ]

--"Will it ever end?" Nightingalesong throws the question in the air, mourning Saffronflame. Nimbuspelt and Blackbirdshriek offer comfort to Blackbird and her kits, the small family mourning Minknose.
--Terrapinshell and Brightwish work with the apprentices, enjoying being mentors, even unofficially as Brightwish is. Barleystorm and Ryebreeze are happy for the extra paws, as Dogpaw and Lionpaw are both a pawful. There are a lot of jokes and goofing off happening during training, but after the hard moons ChaosClan has endured, the mentors can't help but share a smile with the lively bunch of apprentices.

Sagewhisker is deeply saddened by the news of the loss of his mate, though he grieves quietly. Only Oatpaw, forever perceptive, has much of an inkling of how much it is affecting him. They remain wary of him, however, and offer him little support. Sagewhisker is left to weather his grief largely alone.

Creekleap tries to approach Heronstripe amicably, with the eventual aim of finding an ally to commiserate with. Heronstripe, however, is having none of it, having grown a staunchly thorny exterior toward most of the social circles of the Clan.

Snake still has not made a public decision on whether or not they wish to remain in the Clan, but has privately confided to Swallowsong that he enjoys Clan life and will probably choose to stay.
