Jake smiled and put his arm around her happily and relaxed. He was enjoying dinner. “Thank you.” He said to the waiter. He looked over at her. “I think Grant is watching so don’t let your guard down.” He said softly to her. He kept an arm around her as he ate. He smiled. “This is pretty good. Want a bite?” He asked Nikki puting some on his fork for her putting it in front of her mouth.

Nikki took a bite of Jake's food and smiled while chewing. Once she finished eating she commented "It's really good!" she said simply before digging into her own food. After a few bites, she turned to Jake, "Would you like to try some?" She asked him, picking some up on her fork so that he could take the bite if he wanted to.

Jake smiled. “Glad you think so.” He said to her. He relaxed and spent time with them. He laughed when she asked if he wanted a bite. “Sure.” He said and took the bite off her fork and ate it before kissing her cheek leaving some sauce on her cheek. He smiled and took his napkin and wiped it off. He looked at Nina. “How is the milkshake? Do you need some water to clear the sugar a bit?” He asked her.

Nikki smiled as he wiped off her cheek and took another bite of food. Nina looked at Jacob before shaking her head just a bit too quickly, clearly hyped up on sugar. "No thank you! I'm okay." Nikki laughed before pushing a glass of water in front of her cousin. "Drink so that your mom doesn't kill me for letting you get so hyped on sugar and staying up all night."

Jake laughed. “You will need a lot of water. Maybe we should take her on a run.” He said. “Calm her down a little bit before we go back.” He said. He ate his food. “Make sure you eat your mac. That might help a bit too.” He said.

Nina chugged down the rest of her milkshake almost defiantly. "Oh, brain freeze..." Nikki laughed, "Welp that's what ya get kit. Then again you thrive on spite so I don't know what else you were going to do." Nina smiled and started eating her macaroni and cheese with a smile.

Jake smiled. “Interesting. Well, brain freezes aren’t fun. I would suggest really getting under his skin and sharing dessert but I think we have all had way too much sugar for that.” Jake said. He finished his food and sighed happily putting an arm back around Nikki. He really was finding this felt pretty natural.

Nikki laughed at his dessert comment. "Yeah, I think Jannie might murder me if we give Nina any more sugar." She double-checked the time and saw that it was almost 8:30 pm and she had gotten a text from Jannie asking Nikki to make sure that Nina got home soon since her curfew was 9:30 pm.

Jake waited for the waiter to come back with the bill. He would pay it of course. He pulled out his wallet as he waited. He kissed her cheek as he waited. “Wow it is getting late.” He said with a smile.

Nikki nodded and smiled as he once again kissed her cheek. Grant took their money and left the table. Nina was petting Duke under the table. "Are we ready to go?" she asked.
