support, I used to think about getting a mostly complete item collection, but that's pretty much impossible nowadays with things like the cake contest items, early animal eggs, and medieval faire tokens being in such limited supply

i actually donโt feel like this would be a good idea, as the item system does not have a rarity system. it is already very hard for people in cs to tell their item rarity and date, so if item rarity and date were added i feel like this would be a really cool idea. but i feel like just as many pets should be released tos and you dont have to choose between getting an item or a pet, you can get both. and not everyone on cs is very interested in items, so i feel like not everyone would want to adopt the items, but if we get a rarity system and date system for items this would be really cool for some people.
please donโt attack me lol

I'm not sure how I feel about this idea...
As an avid item collector, over the years I have had to actively track down & trade handsomely for many of the older items that I now own.
Trade values are based on the fact that there are so few, & with the premise that fact wouldn't change.
So it seems a little unfair to have hard earned items gradually become more common.
On the other hand,
what item collector wouldn't want free items?
I'm torn.
I've already calmed my trade pursuit of rare items somewhat since the Lost & Found feature,
for the the same reason;
There are more in circulation with each opening, which in theory would gradually
bring the value down.

no attacking ;o
I think it would be a good idea too once a rarity system is put in place for items. since many people will be scammed of their items but it might balance out the trading system for items back to a normal rate. [edit] I saw in the decline suggestions they wouldn't add this feature because of confusion but I think that is false, it would not cause any confusion. Heck, the pet trading system is already chaotic and confusing as is especially for children and users who come back every once in a while. Every item should get its own rarity and the rarity chart for items will just be it's own version compared to pets.
They are different products and people will find a way to make a guide on trading them. I mean they already have so why not just add rarities to make it a little less harder. Then with rereleasing I think it would bring the rarity of really old 'free' and 'event' items down but not by a ton since they'd put a cap with item:user ratio. Although the amount of item (free & event) releases to pet releases is way lower so perhaps they'd need to wait a bit longer before implementing this into effect. Since I think the rerelease for items should include sets instead of individual pieces. like when you opened halloween boxes of items they would give you an outfit set usually, not just the feet or headpiece by itself.

the items are rare indeed I don't really know by how much but if they do give them rarities and you know design a user:item ratio they most likely won't let the rarities drop a whole point. Similar to the purple rares they often stay the same over the years with ever rerelease. The only downfall will be the first couple years that they do the rerelease because yes old items will definitely drop but that might be the best course of action to not have such an imbalance trading system. I could handle the store pets going beyond the 'omg so rares' in the far future along with limited time store items. however old freebies and events will bother me a little if they go worth purple rarity and beyond in the future.
they should remain at a steady rarity competing with low/high demand throughout time.

iโm iffy on this for a few reasons.
1. to be feasible, this would require item rarities, so that animal egg 2s arenโt released at the same rate as common 2018 items. item rarities are never happening, which makes the suggestion itself almost impossible.
2. if somehow staff were able to come up with a system to rerelease items without giving them official rarities, it would probably require them to artificially assign rarity to items. this is extremely subjective unless they just go by date, which creates a number of problems in of itself, and the subjectivity could be manipulated to drastically change the item economy. staff are not the overlords of trading, and should not be in charge of the economy in such a significant way.
i would be willing to take a blow to my own account worth if it was possible to implement this, since i'd love to hoard a lot of old, rare items that have cycled out (though i'm admittedly not ecstatic about the fact that items i paid 10+ nons would drop drastically in value) but i just really don't think that it's possible.
